This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. To advertise a movie well, magazines always capture
a cover image of either the protagonist(s) or
antagonist(s) to expand the audience’s knowledge
on the actors featured in the movie as well as
conflicts between character that may appear within
the movie.
For example, Empire used Godzilla as their main
image focus. As well as this being a first look on the
new animated monster, this is also showing the
chaos which will happen in the movie. It creates
intrigue for the audience with the harsh colour
editing and finally revealing the popular monster’s
new form.
The cover also links well to the theme of the movie
e.g. red and black give connotations of danger and
death. Using bold text also catches your audience’s
eye, making magazine stand out to others.
3. Text/Font
The text included as well as the font help
establish the genre of the piece as well as
intrigue them into purchasing the magazine to
find out more about the upcoming movie
featured.
For example, the font used in the Iron Man 3
cover is very bold and loud, like the character
featured on the cover. Also, using text like
“Downey Jr’s lethal weapon flies solo” gives an
element of danger and intrigue to the cover.
Other text included intrigues the audiences as
well by showing what else is featured in the
magazine. For example, “HORROR PREVIEW
why is 2013 the year of fear” this will draw in
fans of the horror genre too so the magazine is
reaching out to more than one specific
audience group.
4. Genre link
It is key to include a genre link within
your cover so your audience are
clear on what they’re expecting from
the movie and you don’t accidently
target a separate audience by
causing confusion over the genre.
For example, it is clear the The Fault
in Our Stars is of the romance genre.
You can see this through the
character’s chemistry as well as the
text “How the greatest romance
story…”. This then draws in the right
audience for the film e.g. fans of the
romance genre and fans of the book.
5. How will I use this to help me?
• I will take in what is crucial when creating a
magazine cover like colour connotations,
genre links and font/text included.
• By conducting research into magazine covers, I
now have a better understanding on what is
needed to attract my audience and intrigue
them into finding more out about the film.
