Italian students Jasmine, Davide, Alice and Sara went on a trip to London last year as part of a school project. Over the course of four days, they visited important landmarks like Buckingham Palace, the Tower of London, and the London Eye. They also attended lessons at an English school and went on a treasure hunt with other European students, improving their English skills and getting to know young people from around the world.

The group visited sights in Lovere on March 10th and toured the Museo Nazionale Scienza e Tecnologia in Milan on Wednesday. On Thursday, the French students experienced stress speaking English during a roundtable presentation, though they prepared vocabulary in English class and all showed interest and effort.

Their third day included an exhaustive tour of Manhattan landmarks. Their final day was spent shopping and skating at Rockefeller Center before having dinner at a Spanish restaurant. A Strategic Approach: GenAI in Education
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

A visit to london
- 1. Comenius Project “ Crisis What Crisis” 2013-2015 Italian Students in London: Jasmine - Davide - Alice - Sara. We went to London last year. That experience was very interesting. We saw some important buildings. The first day, after travelling, we visited the city and, in the evening, we had dinner in an Italian restaurant.
- 2. On the second day, in the morning, we went to Hammersmith Academy where English students showed their school and we attended some lessons and workshops there. In the afternoon we did “The Treasure Hunt” around London,with German, French, Spanish and English students.
- 3. On Wednesday, after school, we visited “The Bank of England”. Then we went to the “London Eye” and The Tower of London. The next day we visited the British Museum and The National Gallery.
- 4. On Friday, in the morning, we walked to Buckingham Palace, after that we came back home by plane and by coach. We had a lot of fun. We really had an extraordinary experience. But the best thing was meeting and knowing people from other parts of the world and improving our English.
