2. THE UNEMPLOYMENT
The unemployment in Spain is higher than in the European Union and
the rest of the world. According t o the EPA, there are 5.427.700
unemployed people in Spain.
It has become the biggest worry of the Spanish society before the
terrorism.
·Causes:
Spain suffers a high level of structural unemployment. The main causes
are an economy based mostly on tourism and building sectors, and
lack of industry. The most industrialized region is Basque Country
(where industry is around 20-25% of its GDP); its unemployment
rate is 2.5 times lower than those of Andalusia and Canary Islands
(where industry is only 5-10% of their respective GDP).
3. THE YOUTH UNEMPLOYMENT
Since the financial crisis hit, young Spaniards’ lives have been
put on hold. Youth unemployment stands at 55 per cent –
second in the EU only to Greece – and almost half of under-
30s still live with their parents.
Close to 1.7m Spaniards under the age of 30 are out of work,
with almost 900,000 already classified as long-term
unemployed, or without a job for more than a year.
Some of Spain’s crisis-scarred youngsters may indeed be on
their way to the margins of society, trapped in a bitter cycle of
dependency, lack of confidence and financial precariousness.
Others, have plenty of fight left in them.
4. THE GREAT RECESSION
The Great Recession in Spain began in 2008 during the
world financial crisis of 2007–08. In 2012 it made Spain a late
participant in the European royal debt crisis when the country
was unable to rescue its financial sector and had to apply for a
€100 billion rescue package provided by the European Stability
Mechanism (ESM).
The main cause of Spain's crisis was its enormous housing
bubble and the accompanying artificial and unsustainably high
GDP growth rate.
The results of the crisis were devastating for Spain, including a
strong economic downturn, a severe increase in unemployment,
and bankruptcies of major companies.
5. THE EDUCATION
The education system is not focus on preparing students for the
work life.
In addition, it is becoming more expensive each year and some
people cannot study because they cannot pay them.
The students are absolutely dissapointed with the decisions of
the Education Minister José Ignacio Wert, because they often
think that the government are helping the high class.
6. THE SOLUTION
1.-Create new employment.
2.-The implication of the goverment in the
education system.
3.-The society have to change completely.
4.-Remove the economic debt.
5.-Imprison corrupt politics.
