The video analyzes a "second a day" public service announcement film that depicts a girl's life changing from happiness to sadness over time. Each clip is only one second long, but together they tell a powerful story. In the beginning, the girl is shown celebrating her birthday surrounded by family and friends. Over the course of the video, through short clips showing her daily activities, it is revealed that a tragedy has occurred - her environment deteriorates and she is left alone. The final clip shows her older and alone on her birthday with just one candle. Through concise editing and camerawork, the video is able to profoundly illustrate how someone's life can change in an instant.

AMZ Seller Browser.

I know perfectly that many people could think: Hey guy, this stuff is only a dream, good for some sci-fi movies.
This general opinion is normal because so far we have seen electronics always opaque but, before show these project, I wanted to be sure they were feasible.
Well, if you read the ebook " A foldable world" - http://www.biodomotica.com/foldable-nanotech.htm - you will find that all this is true.
Most important universities, companies and research centers around the world are working on nanotechnology and on projects that I like: transparent electronics.
You don't need a Ph.D. in Physics to understand articles inside the ebook. At the end of reading you will begin to ask for a new foldable & transparent laptop ;-)
These devices are not yet available but are NOT sci-fi.
Printed electronics and nanotechnology will rules and changes the world before than you think.
Forget what have seen so far about electronic gadgets: printed electronics is coming with new unbelievable features.
This products will be thin, light, without wires, flexible, water-proof, shock resistant, low energy, solar recharge and recyclable.
This technology will be out of laboratory and completely available by a few years, so it’s not too early to think how the nanotechnology will change our life and how interact with invisible electronics.
Transparent and foldable electronic is a part of the coming printed electronics and these forecasts are my personal point of view:
Electronics should be user-friendly and eco-friendly, cheap and standard.
Some products will have only 2 dimensions. If you want 3rd dimension is possible use packaging technology (boxes) or glued printed electronics sheets or print directly on surfaces of 3d objects.
Philosophy of product designer is going to be more near to fashion designers or graphic designers:
products thought as dress, using ribbons and sheets.
Transparent and thin means not only invisible electronics but you can also customize it with your creativity.
Help and tutorial “how use it” are visible on the products’ surface.
With “artificial muscles” inside is possible move, vibrate or open printed sheets.
Using surface’s treatment like gecko's paws is possible shape or attach devices everywhere.
Solar nanocells recharge devices by sun or infrared rays.
Without wires for electric energy is possible use it everywhere.
Neither fall or water can damage our precious electronic friend.
2-2-17: Today Data & Society is releasing a new report – The Legacy of inBloom – which takes up these questions. Coauthors Monica Bulger, Patrick McCormick, and Mikaela Pitcan engaged in a year-long series of interviews and research to map the story of inBloom and its closure, which ignited a public discussion of student data privacy and has become the legacy any future edtech project will have to contend with.

Embracing GenAI - A Strategic ImperativePeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
Synthetic Fiber Construction in lab .pptxPavel ( NSTU)
Synthetic fiber production is a fascinating and complex field that blends chemistry, engineering, and environmental science. By understanding these aspects, students can gain a comprehensive view of synthetic fiber production, its impact on society and the environment, and the potential for future innovations. Synthetic fibers play a crucial role in modern society, impacting various aspects of daily life, industry, and the environment. ynthetic fibers are integral to modern life, offering a range of benefits from cost-effectiveness and versatility to innovative applications and performance characteristics. While they pose environmental challenges, ongoing research and development aim to create more sustainable and eco-friendly alternatives. Understanding the importance of synthetic fibers helps in appreciating their role in the economy, industry, and daily life, while also emphasizing the need for sustainable practices and innovation.

A second a day
1. Task 2 – “second a day”
campaigning film analysis
By: Anzar
2. Introduction
• A young girl's life gets turned upside-down in a tragic second a day video. We
watch her life go from a normal, loved and cared child to a neglected and
upset individual. The start shows her happiness, the end shows her sadness,
this video immediately makes us take into consideration on how we live our
life because like her anything can change from happiness to sadness. The one
second clips are short but powerful it builds a bigger picture in our heads.
3. Mise-En-Scene
• We can see multiple things around her and we can clearly see the location she's
at even though the clips are 1 second. The main locations are her house,
school, hospital and even her on the road. We can just see a how a normal girl
would live her life until the whole scene turns upside down. The main location
her is her house. The main location her is a hospital or a care home.
4. • We can see the happiness on her face, she is shown love by her
family and friends around her. A close up shot to show her facial
expression. The candles on her cake could suggest that she is
surrounded by multiple people who show her love and care for her.
On the other hand we can see that the video is ended with her but
this time she has one candle on her cake and one person by her
side, this could imply the candles represents the amount of people
who care about her, at the end only one person… she also blows
out the candle in the first clip but doesn't in the ending clip.
In this scene we can clearly see the
upset and sadness in her face, we
can also see how much she is
lacking on sleep due to her bags
under her eyes.
Mise-En-Scene
5. Mise-En-Scene
News in the background
birthday cake with many candles
1 second of her life each day
Halloween
School uniform
Day to night, sleeping
Electricity is gone using candles
Dust falling from roof, house is falling down
She’s feeling sick, taking medicine
Explosions, bombs, evacuations, gas
masks, dark wounds
Hospital , hospital gown
Birthday cake with 1 candle
6. Props: Lipstick and sun hatSetting: a house, living room
Lighting would be behind the camera so we can focus on her face (facial expression). We
barely see body language as the camera is focused on her face.
7. Camera
• From this clip here we can see that the
camera angle is a close up to show her facial
expressions. In all the clips the camera is in
the same place so we can see her emotions
on her face. It starts off from happiness then
worry now fear and then ends with sadness,
however she feels many more emotions
through out the other clips. The main camera
angles are Eye level/ low level and Static on a
tripod, hand held.
8. Camera
From the camera angle we can see everything around her, they
use a specific wide lens to show us everything happening
around her. So as we see from the screenshot her mother is
engaged into the news that’s basically giving a warning to
everyone however she is completely unaware.
From this screenshot we can clearly see that she isn’t been
shown any attention, she shows a painting to her dad and her
dad removes the painting out of the way to carry on watching
what's more important (the news). Even though her dads
engaged into the news she still unaware of her surrounding.
9. sound
On the right side we have the start of the video and the left side is where the video ends. On
both side "make a wish" is said, the wish from the start is most likely different to the wish at
the end as her life has completely changed. They add subtitle so we can clearly recognize that
the people around her asks her to make a wish in both scenes start and finish.
In this specific scene we can see her dad listening to the radio,
things are getting out of hand. However she is still unaware of
the situation as her parents protect her without telling her
what's really happening. The background is her father listening
to the radio even though we can see that we can also hear what's
happening. so in this scene sound is really important as we can
hear what's going on instead of seeing.
10. sound
Through out the video we can clearly see the change in the scene
around here, we can also hear and experiencing everything she's
experiencing. In many scenes we hear her speak and express herself in
happiness however when things change we don’t hear her sadness we
can only see the facial expression. Maybe the happiness includes her
being verbal and sadness doesn't include that.
In this deep video we realise that some non-diegetic sound has been
added in pre production. We can see this as the explosion was naturally
loud but wouldn’t sound clear if added on to the video, so they
could/would of cut out original sound and add on some explosion sound
effects. Also in many scenes music and background sound is playing this
would also be considered as non-diegetic
11. sound
• In the video there is a lot of volume control as the creator wants
us to hear the important things, so therefore they would increase
the volume at the important bits for us to hear. The whole video
is direct address as the little girls speaks to us (camera). In the
video we could hear arguing and other background talks as if they
was closer this is called sound perspective. Sound perspective in
this video made us able to hear arguments from far as if it wasn’t
distant to us.
12. Editing
• Fading in and out
• Logo and hashtag
• First shot 2-3 seconds rest –
1 second, cutting rate
• Jump cuts/ matched cuts
The main edits in this short video is repetitive cuts. Also at the end a lot
of fading is used, fading in the slogans and slowly fading out the video to
a white background. This is done so we can take a couple seconds and
feel the young girls pain and sadness.
13. Editing
• The clips used were probably 10 seconds or even 60 seconds long but each clip was
cut into a 1 second clip and added on. They recorded hundred's of clips just to
complete this video.
• Cutting the 1 second clips where the sound and the visuals would be entertaining
and interesting to watch. The video had to impact the viewers
• The lens of the camera used to film the girl was a large and zoomed out lens as we
can nearly see 180 degrees around her
• The editing was fast so the video itself would be exciting and thrilling for the
viewers. Fast clips to make things intense and entertainting.
