This document proposes a new traffic report app that would enhance existing phone tracking systems. It would allow users to see traffic conditions and estimated travel times on roads in real-time. The app would work by having users send their GPS location every 60 seconds to a central server, which would analyze driving speeds and flag congested roads on maps. Initially targeting students in Munich, Zaragoza and Zebugg, the app could expand to other cities if successful. A cost analysis shows startup costs of €1000-4000 with a break-even point of 100 users at €10 each. Competitors like Google Maps and radio traffic reports provide some traffic data but not integrated real-time maps and estimated additional travel times.
