Act I Hermia is to marry Demetrius because her father wants her to, but she is in love with another man named Lysander She decides to elope with her love Lysander, and runs away into the forest. She tells her close friend Helena about her plan Helena tells Demetrius in hopes that he will forget about Hermia  and stay with her However, Demtrius follows them into the forest with Helena Shakespeare, William.
