In the film, Ordinary People, Calvin Jarrett is the husband of Beth Jarrett and the father of Buck
and Conrad Jarrett. He has been experiencing a very difficult time in his life. Recently, his son
Buck died in a boating accident and Conrad attempted to commit suicide, but did not succeed
because he found him in time to save him. Losing one son and almost losing his other son was a

Background The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recognizes on road
vehicles such as motorcycles, cars, trucks and buses as mobile sources of air pollution (How

In the interest of time, only 4 of the 13 roadwyas listed in The Inquirer s article The 13 Worst
Commutes Around Philadelphia were studied during the course of this experiment. The 3
roadways analyzed in this study were selected because the commutes with the most congestion
were primarily confined within the city limits of Philadelphia. Other routes listed in The
Inquirer s article ran through Philadelphia and branched out to surrounding counties. The
roadways with high levels of congestion included in this study were I 676 from I 95 to I 76, I
76 from I 676 to Belmont Avenue, and I 95 from the Betsy Ross Bridge to I 676. After
identifying 3 roadways with high levels of congestion, 8 living spaces (4 apartments and 4 parks)
less than half a mile from these routes were selected and defined as red locations. Additionally,
eight living spaces (4 apartments and 4 parks) directly located along roadways with normal
congestion were selected as controls and defined as green locations. For the purpose of this
experiment, roadways with normal levels of congestion were defined as any route that was not
included in TRIP s survey of the most congested roadways in Philadelphia. For the purpose of this
