The Rise of SharePoint as a Business Critical HubDan Barker
SharePoint has matured since its inception in the early 2000’s from a product that provides a lot of important features to a full blown platform that small and large business are building critical solutions on. The average $1 billion company maintains, on average, 48 disparate financial systems and uses 2.7 ERP systems. SharePoint enables incredible interoperability to these various systems in a way that’s consistent across various groups within the enterprise. In this session we will talk about how SharePoint can be used to create convergence across the various line of business systems in a way that not only saves time and money but also breaks down silos that impeded productivity and innovation.

Salesforce: Just Another Higher Ed CRM or Much, Much More?Salesforce.org
Presentation from Salesforce.org Higher Ed Summit 2017 by: Dave Dave, Yale University
Imagine an academic world where all unique, department-specific apps went away and everyone used a small collection of enterprise applications for everything. Impossible? Probably, but what if you could at least have all those unique apps on one common platform with the ability to share data and process when it made sense? What if that same platform allowed a department with a limited budget to start small and then grow their app with ease? Sound too good to be true? It's not! Join Yale University on their journey to utilize the full extent of the Salesforce platform to build affordable apps that solve the niche needs of Higher Education institutions.
The Salesforce1 Platform offers a rich set of features for engaging higher education audiences including Communities, Chatter, Salesforce1 Platform, custom mobile apps, social listening, etc. In this interactive roundtable discussion, we will talk about the technical benefits and challenges of deploying the Platform in a Higher Ed context, then open up the session for audience contribution/participation. The goal is to share experiences so as to accelerate the deployment of Salesforce1 Platform in higher ed environments, and learn from the innovations introduced by peers.

The People Model & Cloud Transformation
A successful cloud-transformation journey incorporates three pillars: people, process, and technology. Far too often, organizations focus on process improvements and technology implementation, but ignore the human aspect. Many leaders acknowledge that the first two are easy to modify, while influencing culture is more difficult. This session covers best-practice methods meant to empower customers to address this challenge. Learn about roles and responsibilities germane to the transition and post-cloud adoption phase. Assess your organization’s gaps among the requisite skills and competencies. Build effective training models. And shape an effective DevOps culture.

Scaling on Atlassian: Avoiding The Top 5 Pitfalls When Migrating From a Legac...Cprime
New emerging platforms and technologies like “Atlassian” have caused us to revisit the many different software vendors that provide short term band-aid solutions to scalability challenges.
As organizations continue to heavily invest in software tooling, the need to standardize on an integrated platform is becoming ever more necessary. This provides an opportunity to reduce complexity, get to a reliable system that reduces duplication of efforts, enables better decision-making and provides more flexible ways of being more competitive. While there are 100’s of software vendors providing point solutions to problems in this ecosystem, Atlassian has come along and caused many to rethink software, services, processes, workflows, work items and more.
With the ultimate pursuit of moving faster in an integrated way, we will highlight our journey and uncover what we encountered as we migrated to Atlassian and left our legacy systems behind.

The People Model and Cloud Transformation | AWS Public Sector Summit 2016Amazon Web Services
A successful cloud transformation journey incorporates the three pillars of transformation: people, process, and technology. While leveraging the technology, the people component drives transformations. But far too often, cloud transformation efforts concentrate on the process improvement strategies and technology implementation, while essentially ignoring the human aspect of the change initiative and the opportunity to develop a more agile, DevOps culture. Many leaders who look back on previous change initiatives reflect that process and technology were simple to change compared to the people part of the organization. A central perspective within the AWS Cloud Adoption Framework, the "people perspective," guides organizations about aspects that affect people to reduce the risk and accelerate the value realization from cloud adoption. This session covers best-practice methods that enable customers to address challenges in setting up the right organizational structure to manage cloud operations, roles and job responsibilities during transition and post-cloud adoption, assessing gaps in skills and competencies required, building effective training models, and shaping a DevOps culture.

This is a presentation by Dada Robert in a Your Skill Boost masterclass organised by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS) on Saturday, the 25th and Sunday, the 26th of May 2024.
He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.
We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
