Instructional Objectives are the collection of words/ pictures
and diagrams intended to let others know what you intend for
your students to achieve
(Robert Mager, 1984 in his book “Preparing instructional objectives)
These are foundation for Teaching, Learning and Evaluation in
education system. These are basically statements which clearly
describe an anticipated learning outcome.
These are also called as behavioural objectives or learning
objectives

Instructional objectives are classified according to the level of
learning that is required in order to achieve them. There are many
taxonomies of instructional objectives. The most common taxonomy
was developed by Benjamin Bloom.

Cognitive objectives deal with what a

Cognitive objectives vary from simple recall
of material learned to higher-order
thinking skills like synthesis and evaluation.

15. AFFECTIVE OBJECTIVES
Affective objectives deal with how a student should
feel about something. These objectives aim to change
or influence a learner's feelings, values, beliefs, or
attitudes.
Examples
Students will develop a positive attitude toward teamwork by
successfully completing group projects.
Students will exhibit increased tolerance for cultural differences
through participation in a cultural exchange program.

By the end of the course, the student will be able to swim a
distance of 25 meters using a front crawl stroke with proper
technique.
Upon completion of the program, the student will be able to
change a flat tire on a standard vehicle in under 15 minutes.
After the course, participants should be able to perform
cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on a mannequin with
correct chest compressions and rescue breaths.
The learner will be able to safely operate a welding
machine, including setting the correct parameters and using
proper safety equipment.
