John Nash was a brilliant but socially awkward mathematician who won the Nobel Prize for Economics. The film depicts his life from his time as a graduate student at Princeton University, where he developed his most important work, to his battle with schizophrenia. Nash's theories led him to a position at MIT but his illness worsened, requiring hospitalization. Supported by his wife Alicia, Nash was eventually able to control his delusions and return to researching at Princeton. He received the Nobel Prize in 1994 in recognition of his contributions to game theory, economics, and social science.
