There are various parameters by which QoS is provided. This
paper concentrates on providing optimum bandwidth for data
traffic. The objective of this paper is to propose a strategy to
use Virtual Circuit (VC) approach in NEMO. It helps to
utilize the bandwidth effectively, to consume minimum time to
transfer the data and also to reduce overload of the mobile
router due to the minimum size of the header. Ultimately, it
gives better results to enhance the QoS in mobile networks.
A-Serv: A Novel Architecture Providing Scalable Quality of ServiceCSCJournals
QoS architectures define how routers process packets to ensure QoS service guarantees enforced. Existing QoS architectures such as Integrated Services (IntServ), Differentiated Services (DiffServ), and Dynamic Packet State (DPS) share one common property that the packet structure and the function of the routers are closely connected. Packets of one data flow are treated the same all the time at different routers. We propose to decouple such connection between packet structures and router functions. In our solution, packets carry as much information as possible, while routers process packets as detailed as possible until their load burden prohibits. We call such novel QoS architecture Adaptive Services (A-Serv). A-Serv utilizes our newly designed Load Adaptive Router to provide adaptive QoS to data flows. Treatments to data flows are not predefined but based on the load burden in Load Adaptive Routers. A-Serv overcomes the scalability problem of IntServ, provides better service guarantees to individual data flows than DiffServ and can be deployed incrementally. Our empirical analysis results show that compared with DiffServ architecture, A-Serv can provide differentiated services to data flows in the same DiffServ class and can provide better guaranteed QoS to data flows. Furthermore, A-Serv provides better protection to data flows than DiffServ when malicious data flows exist.

In this paper, we propose a new video delivery method called MTcast (Multiple Transcode based video multicast) which achieves efficient simultaneous video delivery to multiple users with different quality requirements by relying on user nodes to transcode and forward video to other user nodes. In MTcast, each user specifies a quality requirement for a video consisting of bitrate, picture size and frame rate based on the user’s environmental resource limitation. All users can receive video with the specified quality (or near this quality) along a single delivery tree. The main characteristics of MTcast are in its scalability, high user satisfaction degree in received video quality, short startup latency and robustness against node failure. Through simulations, we have confirmed that MTcast can achieve much higher user satisfaction degree and robustness against node failure than the layered multicast method.

reduce the energy consumption and improves the throughput. In this paper, a cluster- based
infrastructure is proposed for broadcasting in MANETs. The backbone of the network takes advantage of
the cluster structure and only requires cluster- heads and some selected gateways to forward the
broadcast packet. Each cluster head selects some gateways to forward the packet when it sends the
packet to all the cluster heads in its coverage set. Cluster structures have been simulated using mobile
simulator Glomosim 2.03, which gives better performance to reduce the network collision, to reduce
delay of packet transmission, to reduce the energy consumption and improves the throughput.

Network nodes in MANET’s are free to move randomly.
Therefore, the network topology may change rapidly.
Routing protocol for MANET’s are used for delivery of data
packets from source to the desired destination, Routing protocols
are also designed based on the assumption that all the
participating nodes are fully cooperative. However, due to the
scarcely available battery based energy, node behaviours may
exist. One such routing misbehaviours is that some nodes may
be selfish by participating in route discovery and maintenance
process, but refuse to forward the packet in order to save its
energy. To solve this problem we propose a reputation based
scheme where the watch dog uses a passive overhearing of
nodes and assign a value to it as an appreciation or add nuggets
to them. In this proposal, nodes with highest value are
highly recommended for data forwarding and allow nodes to
avoid the use of misbehaving nodes in future route selection.
AdHoc On Demand Distance vector routing protocol may be
used to get the recommendation details of the node intended
to forward the packet from the neighbouring nodes. This paper
proposes a novel method to mitigate the route with misbehaving
nodes and also suggests a way to find if any intruder is
present in the cluster of participating nodes using security
aware AODV protocol.

In this paper, we focuses on caching and replication algorithm for content distribution in peer to peer
networks. Caching and replication is a key strategy for improve the reliability, availability, and
performance in peer to peer networks. This paper gives a brief introduction to caching, replication and
various algorithms have been discussed and a detailed study has been performed. The comparison table
shows it clearly that an algorithm satisfies the caching and replication requirement.
New generations of applications call for new demands
that are totally different from previous uses of the Internet (e.g.,
cross-layer and network function virtualization), and the existing
networks are not optimized for these new demands due to being
overwhelmed by enormous numbers of external network
protocols. Overlay network technologies aim to respond to such
future network demands. Systems on overlay networks mitigate
this protocol overload by exploiting the unlimited
programmability of the overlay nodes comprising the system.
This paper proposes an overlay node that works as a transparent
proxy server and router for encrypted communication over
overlay networks. This overlay node acts as a virtual switch over
multiple layers of the OSI reference model (the datalink, network, transport, and session layers) using general-purpose components (a personal computer, physical network interface card, and
virtual network interface card, developed using the C language).
The ideas behind this proposal derive from the effectiveness of
software-defined networks and network function virtualization.
Finally, we examine the performance of the overlay node
experimentally and suggest possible designs for future overlay
networks.

These are just some of the pressing business issues faced by mobileservice providers, summarized by the demand to “achieve more, for less.” The ultimate goal of optimization techniques at the network and application layer is to ensure End-user perceived QoS. The next generation networks (NGN), a composite environment of proven telecommunications and Internet-oriented mechanisms have become generally recognized as the telecommunications environment of the future. However, the nature of the NGN environment presents several complex issues regarding quality assurance that have not existed in the legacy environments (e.g., multi-network, multi-vendor, and multi-operator IP-based telecommunications environment, distributed intelligence, third-party provisioning, fixed-wireless and mobile access, etc.). In this Research Paper, a service aware policy-based approach to NGN quality assurance is presented, taking into account both perceptual quality of experience and technologydependant quality of service issues. The respective procedures, entities, mechanisms, and profiles are discussed. Although less than two years old, NFV has garnered the industry’s full attention and support. Moving swiftly, a number of key accomplishments have already taken place, and a lot more work is currently under way within ETSI NFV while we are embarking on its future phase. Various proofs-of-concepts (ranging from vEPC to vCPE, vIMS and vCDN) are being developed while issues such as open source and SDN are becoming key ingredients as the can play a pivotal role.
Dr. Christos Kolias' Bio: Christos Kolias is a senior research scientist at Orange Silicon Valley (a subsidiary of Orange). Christos is a co-founder of the ETSI NFV group and had led the formation of ONF’s Wireless & Mobile working group. He has lectured on NFV and SDN at several events. Christos has more than 15 years of experience in networking, he is the originator of Virtual Output Queueing (VOQ) used in packet switching. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from UCLA.

The quality of service is a need in recent computer network developments. The present paper evaluates some characteristics in a proposed network topology such as dropped packets and bandwidth use, using two traffic sources, firstly a VoIP source over an UDP agent, then a CBR traffic source over an UDP agent as well as the previous one. Two possible configurations are proposed, implementing both of them in the Network Simulator, and implementing in one of them differentiated services to compare the results. Statistics results are shown, in both cases showing the accumulative dropped packet number and the throughput in the link, obtaining a reducer number of dropped packets in the stage with differentiated services, and an improvement in the bandwidth use.

The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
