2. Symptoms And Symptoms Of Alzheimer s Disease
Aging is an inevitable process that every human being goes through. It is very important to see
how people change as they age and the various experiences they go through. One of the most
common diseases among older people is dementia. Among the different types of dementia, the most
prevalent one is Alzheimer s disease(AD). It is important to look at all of the signs and symptoms
of each type of dementia to see which specific type best describes a person s condition. There is
one patient in particular, Betty, who has many signs and symptoms related to dementia. Betty is
a 65 year old woman who has dementia running in her family. She has been living at home with
her husband, Robert, who is 70 years old. The physicians are doing many tests to see which
specific type of dementia Betty exhibits. After looking at each type of dementia and its signs and
symptoms, it is fairly easy to tell which disease best describes her condition. Examining the
various biological theories of aging is also very important because it helps to better understand
dementia and how it affects older people in their lives. Overall, it important to look at all of the
signs and symptoms of all of the types of dementia, along with the biological theories of aging, to
see if an individual has any disease and the severity of it.
Biological Theories of Aging

with dementia. One of them is the cellular aging theory,

you think Grunwald and Vogel will recommend as the best candidate for assembly outsourcing?
To decide which product, either Bugabyte or Bugabyte Lite, is the best candidate,
Metrovox has to identify its core competencies and to outsource non core activities. I personally
think Grunwald and Vogel will recommend Bugabyte Lite for assembly outsourcing while
Bugabyte to be kept assembling in house and not to pass out to others to perform.
Bugabyte Lite has been on market for over six years with the same quality but a new look.
It has a well established assembly process and product testing. This helps Metrovox to outsource its

Some of the key contract issues are of the following: (1) the quality and volume of the goods being
purchased, clearly calculated price of the goods and the currency being used, and the discounts
availability as volumes increase; (2) the payment terms, including the payment method and

5. What Mysterious Effect Does Calcium Found In Every Milk...
What mysterious effect does calcium found in every milk carton have? The answer to this question
will be explored throughout the essay. Today, there are many people who want to know the
numerous benefits of drinking milk. So what exactly are they? Extensive research has shown that
milk is healthy for humans and contains very important nutrients and vitamins, so everyone should
try to drink milk. In addition to the nutrition, milk is vital to growing children and even to those
that have digestion issues with milk. As it s well known, milk contains many nutrients like
calcium and vitamins A and D. According to the authors at ProCon.org, [m]ilk is an excellent
source of calcium, which can help build and maintain strong bones and teeth (ProCon.org).
Calcium and vitamins A and D help to build strong bones, so humans should drink milk. For
example, if a child drinks lots of milk while growing up, they will grow up into an adult with a
strong bone structure and lower their risk of bone disease, such as osteoporosis. For a growing
child, milk has many kinds of nutrients that are important and needed. Erlich Rita writes that [m]ilk

Ambitions are extremely important to possess, but could cause others to stare at one with
discontent and hate. Even though it may anger some people, an individual must pursue their goal
until it is achieved. For example, in the short story, The Destructors , written by Graham Greene in
1954, the gang accomplishes their ambition by performing an action that seems impossible and
foolish. As the story progresses, the children are faced with the challenge that they could be caught
by Old Misery. T and the others achieve their dream despite the risks and hardships. Their goals
were important to them, and even though it s to destroy an old man s house. One s goals are

But as the poem progresses, the character from the reading has evidently forgotten about proper

character from Chris from the short story Horses of the Night. Chris dreamt big and always
followed his dreams of being a successful civil engineer. When he ran away from home to make a
living for himself, he would often take menial jobs and work hard for himself. As the poem says
the American tradition of kissing moneyed ass, it related to Chris in the way that he would work
hard just to try to make a living in a big city, even though he grew up in a small settlement. He
left all his of his family and friends, along with his traditions and pride, behind as he left for
Winnipeg. This sudden disappearance had a huge impact on Vanessa because she idolized and
respected Chris, but as the same time, she was glad that Chris followed his dreams. The boy in
the poem follows the same path as Chris, leaving everything behind for the big city and trying to
accomplish something. When Chris was on the verge of failure, it impacted him greatly, whereas
he would degrade himself for money. He took many jobs as a salesman, going around working
for his rich boss, while he made little money. Chris had lost his pride and dignity trying to achieve

7. Gender Inequalities Around The World
After doing research on gender inequalities around the world, I realized how bad a lot of countries
are to women. Looking at the countries that have gender inequalities, I can see why they are not
moving towards sustainability. In this essay, I will be providing detailed examples of how different
countries treat their women and wives.
In some countries, women and wives don t have the right to travel without their husband or their
closest male relative s permission. In Egypt, Bahrain, and Syria, it is the husband s right to stop
their wives from traveling out of the country. All the husband needs to do is file a complaint at the
airport to prevent his wife from leaving the country. The husband doesn t even need to give the
airport any reason for why he doesn t want his wife traveling. In other countries like Iraq, Jordan,
Morocco, Oman, and Yemen, the husband needs to provide written permission for their wives to
travel. Lastly in Saudi Arabia, for an unmarried woman to travel they must have written permission
from their closest male relative. This written permission is for leaving the country or traveling on
public transportation between the different parts of the country.
In South Asia and Sub Saharan Africa, forty percent of women are married before their 18th
birthday. The women don t have the right to choice their husbands. Now in Pakistan, women s
marriages are arranged. The women are expected to accept this arrangement. If any women were to

9. Suburban Policing Techniques
Community policing techniques may vary from suburban communities and inner cities because of
the demographics of the regions. Community policing in suburban communities can certainly
contribute to a greater decrease in crime because of the close quarters police officers have with the
members of the community. Community policing is designed as a proactive approach in reducing
crimein the community. A collaborative relationship between law enforcementand individuals only
strengthens the trust with the police. Indeed this relationship is embedded in suburban areas because
policer officers are constantly personalizing their response calls. In addition, Law enforcement
agencies in suburban community may rely on more financial base resources in contributing to the
infrastructure of neighborhoods. For example, policies are implemented in renovating after school
programs for the better of the community. Many police officers... Show more content on

Police departments emphasize their techniques on response time rather than interaction with the
victims or respondents. The ideal practice for police departments in inner cities is preventing
crime before it occurs. So in fact, there is a larger representation of police officers patrolling the
streets of areas of high crime rates. The elements of crime in inner cities are far more likely to
occur than in suburban communities. As recently stated, police officers in inner cities encounter a
large population to govern, in fact they deal with various ethnic groups. In this case, police
departments in inner cities typically adopt police officers of similar ethnic backgrounds. This is
important because this allows the police officers to communicate with the people in neighborhoods
they are patrolling. Without a diverse police force, community policing in inner cities wouldn t be

Mr. Gabler s assertion that entertainment would eventually ruin society, although not entirely
invalid, is not correct. Entertainment has been a near essential part of culture since culture has been

become increasingly integrated into the everyday lives of people. In the 18th century a popular
example of entertainmentwould be the theatre. This was the era of great poets and writers like

Rather we see a complete integration of entertainment into daily life. Televisionruns on a 24/7

time to think and therefore has blurred the lines between the entertainment and reality. In fact,
entities like reality TV has completely negated any sense of fictional entertainment. This has had
conflicting effects. Smoking, for example, is commonly considered to be highly detrimental to

There have been several Islamic militant groups in Somalia with the aim of controlling the
country. Al Shabaab is the current of those groups with a claim to make Somali an Islamic state,
while at the same time getting rid of the inter clan wrangles. However, the group s actions were
more of polarizing the communities along religious lines. The Narcissism of minor difference
applies here as well; Somalia s population is overwhelmingly Muslim. However, Al shabaab has
an extremist view of Islam and intends to make everyone follow the same ideas, those who do
not, they believe deserve to die. Solomon argues that Al Shabaab s form of Islam contradicts with
most of Somali s cultural beliefs, hence creating a major rift between the militants and the
population (p352, 2014). The group use the worst kind of violence against people they believe do
not follow the right Islam; from beheading and lynching alleged offenders to bombing local
mosques, restaurants, and learning institutions (various). Again, all of their victims inside Somalia

Was the Industrial Revolution a Blessing or a Curse?
The Industrial Revolution was a period of technological improvement that took place in Britain
from about 1750 into the 1900 s. To many, the Industrial Revolution was the gateway into modern
day factories and machinery. The Industrial Revolution was spurred by the competition of Britain
against India or China. India and China were both very productive in the production of goods,
meaning the people of Britain had to buy the cheap products imported from India and China. British
businessmen developed new technology so they could manufacture their own cotton textiles, the
main product imported into Britain. Although some historians believe that the Industrial revolution

Overseers took most of the money earned and kept it for themselves. Any worker who dared go
on strike or stand up for thei pay was beaten and tortured. This piece of evidence shows that since
the majority of people were part of the working class, they were abused and were arguably better
off working hard and receiving most of the fruits of their labor on farms instead of doubling their
repetitive work for half of the payoff. Adolf Levenstein, a coal miner living during the Industrial
Revolution Reflected in a letter, later collected into the book, From the Depths: Workers Letters,
published in 1905, states how, The work is becoming increasingly mechanical. No more

18. Still Life With A Tornado Character Analysis
In, Still Life With A Tornado, by A.S. King, Sarah, a teenager who strives to be original, manifests
change throughout the story while portraying the theme, originality is inborn. Sarah is a teenage
girl who thinks she is unoriginal. She grew up with parents who hated each other and only stayed
together for her and her brother s sake. As their marriage evidently falls apart, Sarah has to go
through the situation with them, and try to keep herself together. Sarah, the protagonist, changes
throughout the story, as demonstrated by, bewilderness, tediousness, and acceptance.
In the beginning of the novel Sarah demonstrates characteristics of bewilderment. Sarah, a 16
year old high school dropout, is rethinking her life as she says, Maybe my whole life I ve been
living inside of an imaginary painting (King, 54). Sarah is confused and feels that her childhood
was a lie. The readers realize along with her that her parents put on an act to protect her from the
fact that they hate each other. This communicates the sense of feelingtrapped within lies thought to
be true, and addresses the message, the root of the problem is always bigger than what is
expected. Similarly, Sarah, the protagonist, asserts her latest assessment regarding herself and
her mental state. She says, I am not going crazy. I do not need a psychologist. I decide I am an
artist inside of a tornado that will not let me go (King, 128). Sarah decides she is in a mental
state where she cannot portray her feelings. She uses this excuse of being stuck in a tornado to
reject the fact that eventually she will need to get her life back on track and accept who she is.
This is another one of Sarah s shenanigans to try to be original, and by doing this she finding a
reason to avert from being a normal person. People today encounter the same situation in everyday
life by using excuses to get around inevitable things. Sarah s manifestation of change continues in
the middle of the story.
As Sarah progresses, she shows traits of tediousness. While reflecting on her feelings about herself,
Sarah, the protagonist, says, I am an umbrella on a day with no rain (King, 9). An umbrella on a
day with no rain has no use, therefore the author is trying to show

19. Analysis Of House Of The Seven Gables Essay
Evil within the Portraits The traditional Gothic taste for portraits is frequent in many novels and
short stories that follow the conventions of literary mode making it present in these both texts;
House of the Seven Gables by Hawthorne and Edgar Allen Poe s The Oval Portrait. Often the
characters in such Gothic romances are haunted by the tyranny of the past, which make it
inescapable. It often leads to the destruction of their loved ones. Others motive of escape is often
pulled back by a curse that the character creates upon himself. According to The Art of Terror by
Maria Antonia Lima she says, These portraits are usually a source of terror, with the past
presented as something alive, like a ghost that haunts the present with its terrible mystery. Many
authors consider this kind of literature itself as an example of modern art because it can become
an anti realist protest and a rebellion of the imagination against the reduction of fiction to the
analysis of contemporary habits (Lima 80). The painter introduces the portrait in the Oval
Portrait by Edgar Allen Poe as overwhelming to him. The painter changes his behavior by no
longer seeing his wife as his wife rather as an image through the lens of his painting. This idea of
a portrait can be signified as a curse. A curse that plays with the Pyncheon s and the painter s
emotions. In The House of the Seven Gables the portrait of Colonel Pyncheon is presented as an

Jack Davis No Sugar, first performed in 1985, is a post colonial realist work written in protest of the
1988 Bicentenary celebrations. In this broadly applicable play, Davis highlights the discrimination
against Aborigines between 1929 and 1934 and particularly its justification under the government
policy of `protectionism . Focusing on the experiences of the Millimurra family, No Sugar
underscores the view of Aborigines as uncivilized, the attempt to assimilate them to white culture
through Aboriginal reserves such as the Moore River Settlement, and the resilience and
determination of Aborigines faced with almost complete disempowerment. A fundamental concern

Further, the exploitation of Aborigines for slave labor whilst they are being `protected in Moore
River is highlighted when Joe returns from prison with gifts and comments that he `earned a

is the prerogative of Whites to decide when monetary reward for labor is received by Aborigines.
In 1985, an Aboriginal audience would have viewed this as a notable example of disempowerment.
Existence in a 1980 s growingly capitalist Australia dictated that economic self sufficiency was of
vast importance. Whilst Aboriginal employment was still less that of the White majority, labor had
equal value. In the approach to Australia s bicentenary, an Aboriginal audience would have seen the
recognition of this disempowerment as imperative, and moreover, would have gained a measure of
empowerment from the focus on injustices of the past. A contemporary Aboriginal audience would
be more aware of a measure of stagnation in the economic circumstances of Aborigines, still reliant
on government `hand outs to an extent. Both original and contemporary White audiences of No
Sugar would have probably been shocked by the strict and discriminatory economic restrictions
imposed on Aborigines. However, some

Second, I would like to question Dr. Minor about his impairment finding for the bilateral knees.
More specifically, I would like to know where he saw a 1mm cartilage loss of both knees. I
suspect he must have seen it on an imaging study (i.e., X ray or MRI) but it was not explicitly
documented in the report (or I may have missed it).
Third, I will question him about his finding of impairment as a result of a sleep disorder and

Fourth, I will question him about his impairment findings regarding binaural as well as the 3% pain

left ear problem. Also, pain add on is inappropriate to increase an impairment on a body part with
zero impairment. If we could change Dr. Minor s opinion on the base impairment for the applicant

Fifth, I will question him about his apportionment

22. The Benefits Of Computer Technology In Healthcare
Over the years, computer technology and the internet has made a drastic change around the world
for healthcare industry. The healthcare industry is continuing to give positive changes for patients
and employees thanks to computer technology. It has made it easier and more productive for
patients and employees. Now patients can feel more at ease during their doctor s visit because of
the benefits of technology.
In the first place, computer technology have made it more efficient for physicians. Now physicians
can work up patients faster, thanks to the computer programs that is provided for them. In order to
aid clinical decision making, it is important that data is collected and presented to the doctor as
quickly as possible; electronic systems are therefore advantageous in performing these tasks.
(Tettegah 7) The software applications that the hospital provides help physicians put in the orders so
their patients can get faster treatment. For example, the physician can order their patient to get an x
ray when they are in leg pain. Once the x ray is ordered the technician does the x ray and the
physician can look at the results in their computer so they can properly diagnosis and give them
the proper treatment. The programs can also help keep a log of patients previous visits so they can
know the proper medication to give to patients. The number one benefit cited by the developers is
the patient focused benefit of reducing medication errors and preventing allergic

23. Love Medicine Analysis
Domestic violence is present across America, but the role it has taken in the lives of Native
American women is most troubling as it can be harder to track. Tribal sovereignty can at times act
as a shield for violence. The independent nature of tribes as nations can impede systems established
to prevent reoccurring actions of violencewithin a society. However, as domestic violenceis largely a
result of societal systems, it is easiest and most thoroughly examined through narratives. Louise
Erdrich provides this in Love Medicine. The multi faceted perspectives provide an analysis of the
lives of Ojibwe people. As a reoccurring presence of Native American life, domestic violence is
displayed with repetition, ready to be examined through... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
No more are women welcome to be respected shaman, religious leaders: Thus, the primary role of
this education for Indian girls was to inculcate patriarchal norms and desires into Native
communities, so that women would lose their places of leadership in Native communities (Smith,
Boarding 90). Marie demonstrates this when she views her noteworthy accomplishments through
the position her husband has attained (Erdrich 153 154). In an Anglicized society, Marie s
accomplishments of raising children is negligible compared to what her husband can achieve.
Marie has internalized this status and cannot see the value in anything she has done to be proud
of. Gordie was raised by a woman who has lost her sense of accomplishment and might have
grown to be blind to the accomplishments of the women around them. The Anglo s historical belief
of gender hierarchy is problematic as negative attitudes toward women are a stronger indicator for
domestic violence than alcohol (Mildorf 29). The gender roles weren t just limited to social power,
but were further expressed through physical dominance. This was translated by the Native
American children s experiences at boarding school, where school leaders showed dominance
through physical abuse in addition to the psychological indoctrination. Sexual, physical, and
emotional violence was rampant. Even when teachers were charged with abuse, boarding schools

Only when the hand lever is all the way forward can the car be placed into second gear. The
procedure for getting into second gear is to first start moving forward in first gear. Make sure
the hand lever is halfway forward, speed the engine up a bit and slowly but firmly press the
clutch pedal down. The car will start moving forward and as it does, increase the engine speed to
a good clip and then bring the clutch pedal halfway back into the neutral position. You will
notice that the engine will race a bit so push the throttle forward and slow the engine down. Now
with the clutch pedal halfway out, release the hand lever and push it all the way forward. Slowly
let the clutch pedal all the way out and now you are in second gear. Pull the throttle lever back and

when the car is moving and unlike a modern car, you don t have to turn the wheels before you
start to pull out of a tight spot because you will find that the T makes a much quicker turn because
of it s short body length. Some Model Ts on rare occasions when you go into a slow turn, will start

Mahdi 8 Deforestation and Charcoal Production in Somalia Mahdi Haile DPP 911.01: Environ
Factors in Development Practice Kalle Matso July 30, 2015 INTRODUCTION According to the
information thrown from the course reveals that over the past 30 years, assessments of the
woodfuel situation in developing countries, have changed substantially. In the mid 1970s,
recognition that huge and growing numbers of people depended on fuelwood as their principal
domestic fuel led to predictions of potentially devastating depletion of forest resources, with
serious negative livelihood consequences for the rural poor, unless action was taken to address
this ??fuelwood crisis? (Arnold,J.E, and Gunnar Hlin 2006). Charcoal consumption is often
growing faster than fuelwood consumption. Though still less relative to fuelwood in most of Asia,
charcoal use is becoming a much larger part of the woodfuels total in Africa and South America. In
Africa, the aggregate of consumption of fuelwood and wood for charcoal is growing at a rate close
to that of population growth. The overall quantities involved, and the numbers still relying on
woodfuels continue to be very large. The International Energy Agency recently estimated that,
although shifts to other sources of energy could be expected to substantially reduce the share of
these fuels by 2030, biomass energy will still account for an mated three quarters of total residential
energy in Africa in that year, and that the

The United States and the USSR are acting the same way towards one another; defending and

culture to other developing countries. The United States believed and used Capitalism, an open
market of industry and trade as people have private ownership, rather than a more Communist like

On February 22, 1946, there was a telegram given to the US State Department of officials from an
American Foreign Service officer stationed in Moscow, George Kennan, depicting information of

that communism is better than capitalism, and that Stalin and the Soviets believe they will win.
The telegram also had stated, The United States policy toward the Soviet Union must be that of a

demonstrates that the intentions of the USSR are that of destroying capitalism by the warning
given by George Kennan to try to stop the spread of communism from gaining too much power and
the belief that they themselves would win. This demonstration was heard and the following year in

ASSUMPTIONS ON BLOOM S AND LEARNING

What any person in the world can learn almost all persons can learn if provided with appropriate
prior and current conditions of learning (Bloom, 2017). This belief was held by Dr. Bloom in
1956 when he and his team created Bloom s Taxonomy. Since then educators have been utilizing
these goals of the learning process (Clark, 2015) and making assumptions of its usage and
implications. I too did have assumptions but have not thought about how I developed them or how
they would affect my use of the taxonomy. When starting this reflection I held three assumptions
true about Bloom s Taxonomy. The first is if the educator uses Bloom s Taxonomy for planning
through assessment, then the student will develop higher order thinking skills. Secondly, a
student can move on to a higher order thinking level only if they first mastered a lower order
thinking level. Thirdly, if educations use different levels of Bloom s Taxonomy in lessons students
will retain more information. Interestingly, I uncovered two additional assumptions that I did not
know I had. The first of which is that the focus on cognitive development of Bloom s devalues
importance of other domains. The other is that Bloom s Taxonomy is used only by educators in K
12 and college. Here are some things I understand about this subject that informed or changed

Ruth
The book of Ruth is a book about sacrifice, faith, patience, love, kindness, restoration, and
fruitfulness. The basic literary is narrative and the authorship is believed to be Samuel written
between 1020 1000 BC. The main personalities of this book are Ruth, Naomi, and Boaz. The Book
of Ruth is about how a man named Elimelech takes his wife Naomi and their two sons Mahlon and
Chilion from living in a town known as the house of bread in Bethlehem to the land of Moab on his
own will to escape death. Here the two sons married unequally yoked Moab women by the
names of Orpah and Ruth. All within a decade Naomi loses her husband and two sons to death.
One day Naomi hears that God s favor has returned to Bethlehem and that food is available so
Naomi decides to return. Not too far into the journey back to Bethlehem, accompanied by Orpah
and Ruth, Naomi tells Orpah and Ruth to return to Moab but Ruth decides to continue with Naomi
and follow God. Upon their arrival, the whole town was in a frenzy at the return of Naomi. When
confronted about her identity she told them to call her Mara, which means bitter, and no longer
Naomi which means pleasant. Ruth and Naomi returned at the beginning of the barley harvest and

Suetonius tells us that Julius Caesar enciphered his dispatches by writing D for A, E for B and so

that C was now written for A, D for B, and so on. In modern terminology, we would say that he
changed the key from D to C.
The Arabs generalized this idea to the monoalphabetic substitution, in which a keyword is used to
permute the cipher alphabet. We will write the plaintext in lowercase letters, and the ciphertext in
uppercase, as shown in Figure 5.1.

An example should explain all this. Suppose you had intercepted a message from a wartime
German agent, which you knew started with Heil Hitler, and that the first 10 letters of ciphertext
were DGTYI BWPJA. This means that the first 10 letters of the onetime pad were wclnb tdefj, as
shown in Figure 5.3.
Once he had burned the piece of silk with his key material, the spy could claim that he was
actually a member of the anti Nazi underground resistance, and that the message actually said
Hang Hitler. This is quite possible, as the key material could just as easily have been wggsb tdefj,
as shown in Figure 5.4.
Now, we rarely get anything for nothing in cryptology, and the price of the perfect secrecy of the
one time pad is that it fails completely to protect message integrity.
Suppose that you wanted to get this spy into trouble; you could change the ciphertext to DCYTI
BWPJA, as shown in Figure 5.5.
During the World War II, Claude Shannon proved that a cipher has perfect secrecy if and only if
there are as many possible keys as possible plaintexts, and if every key is equally likely; therefore,
the one time pad is the only kind of system that offers perfect secrecy [694,

In other words, I started from the entry point and went through all the statements of method
body. Based on Class Hierarchy Analysis definition, for each call site b.n( ) in the method block,
if static type(b)=B, Then the targets of call site b.n( ) will be all concrete (non abstract) methods
having the same signature as method B.n( ) and declared by B or by any concrete subclasses of B
including B itself. According to this definition, I added reachable methods of each call site to the
worklist then made edges from source to reachable methods.
// initialization worklist.initialize() ; worklist while (worklist != empty) {
// remove next method from worklist
Method source = worklist.removeNext() ;
// process statements in source method for each (stmt in source) {
// if statement is a method/constructor call Method if (stmt is a InvokeStmt) { n =
stmt.getInvokedMethod() ;
List reachables = resolveDispatch(n) ; for each (Method target in reachables){ worklist.add (target)

} // end of for} // end of while

reachable methods, at first I check if static type(b)= B and if B declares by signature method B.n(

boy. (Bauer, 1) Joel yelled, CLIMB THE STARVED ROCK BLUFF? YOU VE gotta be kidding!

On the other hand, Tony is a self centered, daredevil, and unintelligent boy. (Bauer, 1) Tony just

The Massacre at Wounded Knee First, and foremost, the battle between the white man and the

The Sioux were so distraught about the assassination of Sitting Bull; they could not muster an

on earth, and God seemed to have forgotten us. Some said they saw the Son of God; others did

They snatched at hope. They screamed like crazy men to Him for mercy. They caught at the
promise they heard He had made. The white men were frightened and called for soldiers. We had
begged for life, and the white man thought we wanted theirs. We heard the soldiers were coming.

In 2002 wheat was $3.80 a bushel so farmer s received $.06 for the difference in the guaranteed
price and $.52 for every bushel of wheat they sold ( Farm bill resources, 2008 ). The idea behind
the government subsidizing of agriculture is a good idea in theory. However, it is controversial
because there are many people who oppose this policy for different reasons. There are many
reasons why it is controversial but there are a few in particular that cause the most debate. One
reason that people do not support the subsidizing is because of the sheer cost. In 2009, the U.S.
government paid over 12 billion dollars to the agricultural sector (Vogel, 2001). When you
consider that fact that the payments are being made with taxpayer dollars it explains why some
people immediately oppose it. There have been past years where the government has actually
paid double that. These payments do consume a fair portion of our governments budget.
Although it is not a confirmed fact, a Canadian report said that for every dollar earned by a U.S.

people view this as nothing more than transferring income from the general tax payers to farm
owners. In fact, farm subsidies is actually the United States largest corporate welfare program.

This report is created to Detail the disadvantages with integrating renewable energy sources into
national electrical grid systems. However, this information is collected through different scientific
sites and books. With all of that, this report focusing points will be on environmental impact of the
Renewable energy (solar, hydro, wind, geothermal and biomass) which will show the costs
involved, and load balancing.
Main Body
However, there are many disadvantages of renewable energy in low density and variability and
also there Visual pollution is also a disadvantage, and the most common disadvantage is difficultly
to generate electricity in large quantity. The following will show each of the sources of the
renewable energy disadvantages.
Solar Photovoltaic :
As know, Sunlight is renewable at least for another four or five billion years. But solar panels are
not renewable at all. However, solar photovoltaic system can easily fit into any building and it does
not have any side effect or land effect.
With all of that there are some disadvantages which affect the environmental impact, as shown
below:
COST INVOLVED
Collector range is large, so that more material is required to be transmitted which makes cost of the
materials increases.
LOAD BALANCING

fortunate. Individuals with severe disabilities or over the age of 65 qualify for Medicare. This

similar motifs presented throughout. Both The Crucible and Twelve Angry Men (1957 film) are
about justice. The two texts feature important scenes involving a trial where the fate of a
character s life rests in the hands of other people. However, the two texts have very different
final outcomes. In both texts, the main protagonists argue against the majority, despite the
backlash that they receive. Proctor speaks out in The Crucible after learning about the lies that
Abigail and her friends are telling that have caused the imprisonment of members of the town
and are even threatening their lives. Proctor takes a considerable risk by arguing against the
witchcraft, especially in the Puritan society where religion is how the town is governed. His
decision inevitably backfires on him and begins the series of events that lead to his execution. On
the other hand, Juror #8 in Twelve Angry Men goes against the majority as he sees the boys poor
upbringing, his less than fair state appointed defence attorney and the jury s almost immediate
unanimous decision to convict him, unjust and believes he deserves a better chance. Unlike
Proctor, Juror #8 speaking out against the other men results in justice for the accused who walks
away with his life. Justice in the two texts is represented considerably differently to each other. In
The Crucible it is evident that Abigail and her friends are in the wrong, condemning people to be
death by lying and accusing the town members of Witchcraft, and therefore Proctor attempting to
expose them for their dishonesty and bring justice to those who had been wrongfully accused,
which included his wife, was a brave and noble thing to

42. Endurance, Leadership, Attitude, And Perseverance
Endurance by Alfred Lansing is an astonishing true story of how a group of twenty eight men
survived in the Antarctic for two years, thanks primarily to one man s leadership, attitude, and
perseverance. The Imperial Trans Atlantic Expedition was headed by Ernest Shackleton, an
explorer and consummate leader of men. Shackleton used his gut feeling to hand pick his crew,
ensuring they knew that success would be rewarded but also aware that a safe return home is not
guaranteed. Shackleton chose men with a mixture of skill sets and was sure to consider how each
member would fit in with the team. As a leader he understood when to allow individuals to utilize
their strengths while still leading a holistic team. Shackleton was gifted with an uncanny ability to
overcome conflict, communicate with his followers, as well as remain flexible during any situation.
The following briefly recounts the story with my thoughts weaved in...
After years of tedious fundraising and preparation of his ship, Ernest Shackleton and his crew of
twenty seven men (as well as 69 dogs) sailed for the South Atlantic with the intention to become the
first people to ever cross the Antarctic land mass by foot. At the time Antarcticawas considered the
last bastion of Earth surface exploration left and the British yearned to achieve it first. This would

43. The Strange Case Dr. Jekyll And Mr. Hyde
During the story of The Strange Case Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde , the author presents his
knowledge of the duality of man, Stevenson uses this clear contrast to make his point, every
human being contains opposite forces within him or her, an alter ego that hides behind one s
polite fascia . Where Dr. Jekyll and Hyde contain a dark, scary side inside them, where evil is
detained in waiting to surface, but they hide it away, they pretend it does not exist, and they
keep it undercontrol. He presents this idea by using two characters, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde,
who are actually the same person. One of these characters signifies the normal side of a person
characterized by Dr. Jekyll, who is a classic higher class individual, and the other, Mr. Hyde, a
deformed man, shows the purest of evil, but the truth cannot be denied that as Dr. Jekyll said
man is not truly one, but truly two. We come across the fact that basically the whole novel is
basically about the duality of human nature until the climax of the novel itself. We learn that the
idea that Dr. Jekyll had created another version of himself, but not the good one is where he
realizes he made a mistake because the other side of him has committed murders and he had a
really bad temper and he is known as Mr. Hyde. Dr. Jekyll is the good man the one who does
charity work for his own community. Mr. Hyde in the other hand is the man who gives a sense of
his evil by just looking at his face and deformation. Hyde emerges and wins

Lymphangiogram A lymphangiogram is a procedure to examine your lymphatic system. Your
lymphatic system consists of lymph vessels and your lymph nodes. In this procedure, dye is
injected through a long, thin tube (catheter). X rays are then taken. The X rays will show if
there is a blockage or problem, such as a tumor. The lymph vessels are the vessels which carry
tissue fluids in your body into the lymph nodes. Certain tumors spread along the lymphatic
system, including lymphomas and Hodgkin disease. Lymphangiogram is also used to evaluate

45. Social Movements And Its Effects Of Social Change
Social change is the significant alteration over time of behavior patterns and culture. Basically its
and change to a social process. Many sociologist are concerned with the effects of change but,
you need to look at both sides of the argument all the time. Situations like these happen all the
time globally. No society goes unchanged. Some societies may change at a slow rate but it
happens and nobody notices until we go back and look at history. The change that occurs is natural
so there is no reason for anybody to worry.
Social change has a lot to do with social movements. Social movements are groups of people trying
to change something in an established group or society. A huge social movementthat happened in
the past and is still happening is women s rights. The opportunities that men get are being offered to
women, as they should be. Another movement is getting the medicine and foods needed in 3rd
world countries. Before there were no programs or people getting involved that gave us the
opportunity to help the less fortunate.

46. Marx Alienation
Marx s theory on species being and estranged labour. The theory of alienation by Karl Marx
describes the act of estrangement of persons beginning from those characteristics of their species
essence in place of a magnitude of existence in a society or community of stratified collective
classes. The isolation from oneself is generally as a result of being an automatic part of the
communal class (Meszaros, pg 54). Philosophically, this theory depends s upon the essence of
Christianity which was described by Ludwig Feuerbach. Marx further extended this theory of
Ludwig by stating that even the idea of humanity is also an alienating perception for people to
logically deliberate in its complete metaphysical implication (Meszaros, pg 57). In his work of
1844, Marx explained alienation in the following way: In any capitalist society, the isolation of
employed workers from their humanity is believed to occur because the only thing that a worker
can express is labour (Meszaros, pg 59). This is a significant societal facet of particular
eccentricity through a privatised system of industrial production where every employee is
considered a thing but not a person. The following are the four types of alienation that normally
exist to a worker who is labouring under a capitalist form of industrial production: 1. The
disaffection of workers from their respective products. Here, Marx explained that product designs
and how it is manufactured are determined by capitalist classes who part

47. Social Identity And Career Choice Essay
TO WHAT EXTENT DOES SOCIAL IDENTITY DETERMINE JOB CHOICE
The literature review focuses on the collection of secondary data on the research topic, which is the
extent to which social identity determines job choice. The literature review is conducted under
three major themes, which act as the pivotal basis for constructing theoretical meaning to the larger
research problem.
The Social Identity Theory
Studies on social identity have been dated back to centuries. According to Heckman (2006) the
reason social identity studies remain very important to academicians and professionals is for the
fact that all people are social being and that at every point in time, it is important to find the impact
of the social system on an individual. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In most of these literatures, factor analysis has been used with emphasis on non pecuniary
identity payoffs (Wolfe and Haveman, 2003). The bowl of contention has however often been
factors that most align with social identity, where two major factors namely career orientation
and social orientation has been debated. Stets and Burke (2000) noted that career orientation
factors are those social identity variables that makes a person becomes concerned about career
outcomes that match well with their social beliefs, principles and expectations. For such people
whose emphasis is on career orientation, they would want the career choices they are making to
give them the fullest assurance of protecting their social identities and satisfying their social
ambitions (Hoff and Priyanka, 2006). There is another school of thought who have emphasised
on social orientation in the search for a model for career choice and identity. From the perspective
of these reviewers, social identity is stronger than career expectations and so at any point while
entering a career, a person would look at his personal ability for his social status to fit into the
career that is being pursued, rather than want the career to fit social ability (Wolfe and Haveman,
2003). But quite interestingly, both sides of the argument approached from career orientation and
social orientation end up with

New Existing Sporting Facilities
The construction and refurbishment of the sporting facilities required for the Olympics to take

hosting the Games (French, 1997). CODA was in charge of the development of the neighborhoods
around the main Olympic venues and were identified as primary benefactors of redevelopment
(French, 1997)
A proposal by ACOG was made to restore various low income housing projects, which would then
be rented to Olympics athletes during the Summer Games (Vale, 2013). However, French (1997)
points out that unfortunately, the funds secured by CODA for urban design projects were
incomparable to the minute funds obtained to make necessary developments in low income areas.
Instead, profit orientated investors provided funding for projects like the Olympic Park.
According to French (1997), CODA raised an estimated 75 million dollars for the design of the
Olympic Park and urban planning with the help of federal programs and private foundations,
funding the redevelopment of inner city neighborhoods received less money and with the absence
/divergence of public funding, residents in low income areas reaped fewer benefits from the
Olympic Games than anticipated
Nevertheless, the redevelopment of downtown neighborhoods earned an estimated sum of 100
million dollars.

cars can take away that chain reaction and save many lives. For example, in the United States
alone there are 42,000 traffic related deaths each year (Speksnijder 1). This number is more than
it seems to be. With many major companies all in the works to make autonomous cars a reality it
can reduce these numbers to practically zero, Accidents are expected to decrease between 30%

53. Ethical Issues on the Treatment of Animals Essay
Animals have always played an essential role in many aspects of this world. Some people look
upon these roles with favoritism, some with disgust. Animals are considered different from
humans by some people because of their behavior, mannerisms or actions. Some animals are used
as food by humans and other animals, while others are trapped for their furs. Many times people
acquire animals for pets, only to neglect or mistreat them. For many years, the ethical treatment of
animals has been a very controversial topic for moral discussion, often in reference to an ethical
code or rule. In this paper, I will discuss these ethical issues identified with the treatment of animals
as well as exploring these issues from a virtual ethicist s... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
From a religious aspect, God also puts the fear of man into the animals and again animals are used
to fill the needs of men (Genesis 9:1). A virtual ethicist s perspective is fairly simple to relate to.
Our text book clarifies that virtue ethics promotes a particular kind of person a virtuous or noble
person who provides a role model for those who wishes to be moral (Mosser, 2011). Therefore,
relationship with animals, from a virtue ethicist s standpoint, would support virtuous or moral
values. As a virtuous person, a choice could be to abstain from eating animals and from wearing
fur or, perhaps, keeping a low environmental impact lifestyle. An advantage of virtue ethics is that
it brings in all the qualities of being human such as reason, responsibility and emotion to influence
a person s ethical consideration. This can be applied in situations where a person asks what sort of
person he or she should be. However, our text book clarifies that determining what the specific
virtues are, and what the appropriate balance among those virtues should be, can be difficult
(Mosser, 2011). Are people s statements about animal rights meaningful? As an example, a virtuous
person may be of the opinion that everyone should be compassionate to all creatures and not cause
suffering; thus you should not eat animals. This is an evaluation about a situation, more
specifically, a moral judgment. Emotivism, in contrast to virtue ethics, is

Predators and prey always had their way of living. The predator hunts the prey for food and they

them to escape being eaten. Predators use special techniques to hunt their prey like agility or
sneak. For example the cheetahs use their speed to catch their prey, or the snapping turtle which
uses its pink worm like tongue to lure fish in trying to eat it. Prey also have a similar strategy
they use their abilities such as speed to get away from the predator that is chasing them like the
gazelle or like the armadillo who uses the armor on his back to guard him from the predators. The
predators have unique set of skills put to each species of animals. The

55. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Standardized Writing System
Writing has constituted an important practice in human culture since the earliest forms of writing
were discovered from cave paintings made 40,000 years ago. Writing enables writers to express
themselves in a writing system that conveys unique features of its associated culture. In this
context, writing means a standardized system for recording, in a specific language, content ranging
from values to ideas to poems, etc. Humans have communicated in thousands of languages
throughout history and consequently devised numerous different writing systems for expressing
those languages. To facilitate easier communication, it has sometimes been suggested that the world
adopt a single writing systemcapable of representing all languages. This essay... Show more content

This is an over optimistic and naГЇve argument, however, for at least three reasons. Most
particularly, a standardized writing system might seem ideal, but it cannot overcome the
enormous difficulties brought about by requiring the world s citizens to learn a new writing
system. This is because learning writing systems is very challenging, laborious and time
consuming (Tzeng Wang, 1983); this is even more the case for adult learners, who might anyway
see little benefit and much disadvantage from the additional financial expense of learning a new
writing system when they are already expert users of their written language. A second reason why
a universal writing system is ill advised is because languages are living things that evolve slowly
over time; there never can be a standard writing system while cultures are continually developing
new forms of expression. This can be seen from the fact that the Chinese writing system has already
undergone several evolutions over the centuries. Thirdly, the argument for standardizing a writing
system is naГЇve because it entails controversial political decisions. No doubt the powerful nations
of the East would prefer a logographic or a syllabic writing system while their Western counterparts
would prefer an alphabetic writing system. Each side would therefore favour its existing writing
system to minimize disruption and to ensure forms of cultural hegemony. Taken together, these
three arguments demonstrate the impracticality of a universal writing system and highlight the
difficulties such a system would
