Reflection
This Week: On his way to Jerusalem, Jesus meets 10 lepers and cures them, but only
one returns to express his thanks. How sad Jesus must have felt on that day. It is easy
to walk away and forget about the gifts we receive from others. Let this be a week of
thanks, to our families, our friends, our work colleges, and the people we meet
throughout the day. It is easy to criticises, much harder to express gratitude.
Remembering our Angels - Carraroe Church
A time of prayer with Adoration will take place on Tuesday 11th October in honour of
the 100th Anniversary of the apparition of the Angel at Fatima, who prepared the
three children to meet Our Lady in 1917 beginning at 7pm. All Welcome

Thursday 13th October at 7.00pm in the Cathedral in Sligo.
All Children, parents and friends are invited as we remember the story of Fatima and
the sacredness of the Rosary in our life.
Medjugorje Retreat
28th -30th October, at Knock. Guest speaker is Fr. Leon Pereira O.P., Chaplain to the

Chair Yoga - DATE & Time: WED/FRI Mornings after 10am mass 10.30-11.30
COST: Offered by donation suggested €5-10 - CLASS DESCRIPTION: A gentle and
fun practice that is accessible and beneficial for all levels, but because of the support
of the chair, it is ideal for seniors, those new to yoga or recovering from illness or
injury. Regardless of age or energy level, it’s a valuable hour of connecting with the
body. These Classes need members to survive. Will you Join!

2. Mindful Yoga -DATE & TIME: Wed Evening 8-9.30pm COST: € 15 drop in single
class or 5 class pack for 60 euro CLASS DESCRIPTION: A moderate yoga practice
combining physical postures and mindfulness meditation. Ideal for those who like
some energizing movement to shake out some of the days stresses and still finish with
some relaxation techniques to ensure a good night’s rest. Both classes are given by
Cathi Murphy, a native of Carraroe, has returned after twenty years living in the
United States where she trained in yoga and mindfulness meditation For information

Parish Calendar 2017
We are currently preparing the Parish Calendar for 2017. If you would like to
advertise or help sponsor the project, please contact the Parish Office during the
week.
Beginning Experience
The Beginning Experience is a specially designed programme which helps separated
and widowed people make a new beginning in life. It offers healing, an opportunity to
appreciate ones’ own goodness and above all hope for the future. There will be an
open information evening on Tuesday 11th October at 8pm Sessions will continue
weekly during the following months. Please contact the Frances at 086 2574038

Fr. Peyton Memorial Centre
A Day of prayer for Our Lady's intention will take place on 13th October beginning at
12noon and concluding at 4.00pm. Speaker Aine Kennedy. Sacrament of Confession
will be available.
Bereaved
Your prayers are requested for Rosie O' Rourke (nee Davey) whose funeral took place
in London on 22nd August. Burial in Kilmacowen Cemetery on Tuesday at 12noon.,
Tobernalt Holy Well
Recent repairs and painting of the shrines at the Holy Well have improved the overall
setting at the Holy Well. If you notice any unusual behaviour at the shrine please
contact the parish office or the local Garda. Various schools from the diocese will be
visiting the Shrine for October. National school on Tuesday and Secondary Schools on
Thursday.
Pre- Marriage Course - Accord Sligo
If you are getting married now is the time to do your Pre-Marriage by contacting
ACCORD at 071-9145641. The pre-marriage course should be booked at least 3 - 6
months in advance of the wedding.
Community Centre
Some slots in the morning and afternoon are now available. Reasonable rent
and lots of parking. Contact the Parish Office for more information.
Slimming World group
Charlotte Downey is opening up a Saturday morning Slimming World group in
Carraroe Community centre starting 15th
October at 10am each Saturday...
Also it’s at 7.30 & 9.30 am on a Tuesday morning in Carraroe Community Centre

Sligo Social Services - are in need of good quality autumn/winter children’s clothes,
particularly in aged 5-18 years. If you have any suitable donations, please they can be
dropped in the Sligo Social Services yard on The Lungy (behind the Hawkswell
