The Tale Of Two Visions Of Power
The Tale of Two Visions of Power On the eve of November 8th, 2016, secretary of the
Democratic Party Hillary Clinton or politician of the Republican Party Donald Trump will
become president of the United States. With their dividing views, it splits the nation in half with
their ideals and plans for the future. This election is what brings out the true form of freedom of
speech in America polarization between the Democrats and the Republicans. Not only does this
election bring out the significance of how important it is to vote, but also what kind of leader
people want to lead for the next four years. The vision of America s future could possibly be at
stake depending on who comes out as the winner in less than a week. Power will be given to either
Clinton or Trump, and that is what will determine the outcome of the fates for everyone residing in
the Unites States for the next four years. The fate of the United Statesdepends on the people s
beliefs of the constrained and unconstrained vision of power. By understanding the beliefs of the
people, it divides on the country s values of what they want for the future of the citizens. These
views of power can be rendered as different, yet, effective in a sense of what the people think
works best for them and possibly for others. For example, the constrained view sees people who
commit crimes as inherently evil and ..put their own interests or egos above the..lives of others.

Jane Elliot s Experiment
In 1968, Jane Elliot, a third grade teacher and not a credentialed psychologist, performed a
psychological experiment that conflicts with the Ethical Principle of Psychologists and Code of
Conduct established in 2010 by the American Psychological Association (APA). Mrs. Elliot
violated standard 2.01 Boundaries of Competence by teaching and conducting the experiment with
population and in area beyond her boundaries of competence, based on her education, training,
supervised experience, study, or professional experience. She also violated General Principle E:
Respect for People s Rights and Dignity by conducting the experiment without consulting or asking

Elliott s experiment the benefits does not prevail over the potential psychological harm. From a
psychological, scientific perspective, this experiment does not add any scientific value; instead, it
provokes emotional distress in those children to achieve her personal goal. To back up my
statement Bloom (2005) says Jane Elliott s blue eyes brown eyes exercise encouraged children to
mistrust authority figures. She compromised the APA s Code of Conduct and Ethical Standard
because she lied, after that she recanted the lies and kept as they were justified because of her
greater purpose. She abused of her power figure to inflict those under her authority. Another way
to understand the deficiency of scientific value in this experiment is to approach it from Erikson s
theory, which discusses about Industry (competence) vs. Inferiority Stage (5 9 years old). At this
stage teachers take an important role in the child s life, as they teach the children fundamental
skills important for the development of their character. Erikson s theory identifies this stage per its
strong peer group influence that becomes a major source of the children s self esteem. As reported
by Erikson, in this stage children feel the need to demonstrate abilities that are valued and
approved by society, in order to develop a sense of pride for their accomplishments. Its mean, those
children changed behavior conditioned by Mrs. Elliott demands. After encouraged and reinforced
for their initiative, those children begun to feel industrious and confident in their capacity to
achieve their goals, they felt superior at their turn according to her encouragements. The dangerous
part of the experiment was during restrictions and moments of berate, where they felt inferior,
doubting of their own abilities and therefore reducing their potential. Its mean, when a child cannot
achieve the society demand (i.e. blue eyes or brown eyes) then they may develop a sense of

Analysis Of The MovieTaxi Driver, And Apocalypse Now
Action exhilarates audiences through dramatic, heart pounding scenes, while drama emotionally
adheres viewers through heart felt plots. Taxi Driver was one of the first movies to reveal the
mental effects soldiers underwent after the Vietnam War. Similarly, Apocalypse Now directed by
Francis Ford Coppola, uncovers the truly severe impacts the vietnam war had on soldiers.
Apocalypse Nowis about a classified mission to assassinate a renegade colonel who has set
himself up as a god among a local tribe. Through the use of dissolves, lighting, and sound,
Coppola is able to expose the horrors of PTSD within the brains of the soldiers due to the Vietnam
War.
Apocalypse Now helps explain the effects of war to viewers through vivid realistic scenes.
Throughout the film, Captain Willard, played by Martin Sheen, faces many challenges such as
death and insanity on his journey to find the renegade soldier. His team, Chef, played by
Frederic Forrest, Clean, played by Laurence Miller, Johnson, played by Sam Bottoms, and Chief
Phillips, played by Albert Hall, all show the mental effects of war throughout the trip through the
rainforest. Each character experiences some type of trauma weather it be physical or mental.
Furthermore, each character is exposed to some type of weakness either being a life ending injury
or a psychotic breakdown. Director Coppola illustrates the insanity soldiers experience during war
through dissolves and close ups. When Captain Willard is laying in bed

Their Eyes Were Watching God Identity Analysis
What is identity? A normal person would think that it s simply defined as who we are. However,
there are many definitions of identity, as it can mean differently for others. Identity is what
makes us unique from one another because there is no one else like us. Since our surroundings,
such as the people we meet and places we go to, possess a role into shaping who we are, we are
constantly changing. As we grow up and become curious, we experiences many things and start to
see different sides of ourselves. We start to question our individuality, to the point where we may
struggle with whom we really are. Similar to Janie Crawford in the novel Their Eyes Were
Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston, Janie struggles with identity. Throughout... Show more

There are many different factors that influence our identity, such as our family, relationships,
society, etc. Family plays a significant role into shaping our identity because they can influence our
attitudes, beliefs, and values. Some may grow up having the same values as their parents because it
s what they are taught and they retain those values as they enter adulthood. They may be modified
along the way, but it s not completely gone. Although family can help prevent us from committing
poor choices through guidance, they can also hinder our ability to accomplish what we desire. In
Janie s case, Nanny plays a significant part into shaping her identity. Since Janie and Nanny had
only each other left, Nanny became very protective of Janie. In order for Janie to avoid
experiencing the tragedy both her mother and grandmother went through, which was being raped
and forced into a relationship, she wanted the absolute best for Janie. As a former slave, the
grandmother, Nanny, is haunted by the compensatory dream of making her first daughter, and then
her granddaughter, something other than the mule of the world, customary fate of the black
woman. (Bloom). However, Nanny s narrow minded

Essay on Geoffrey Chaucer
Geoffrey Chaucer
Geoffrey Chaucer was a poet, a writer, and of course a diplomat. Geoffrey Chaucer was born in
the early hours of 1340s to John Chaucer, a vintner and assistant to the king s butler. As a boy, he
was a leaf to the Countess of Ulster. (Lombardi) Chaucer was the most famous for writing his
unfinished Canterbury tales. (Geoffrey Chaucer) He was born in London, only problem is, the exact
date and place are unknown. From his writings Chaucer emerges as poet of love, both worldly
and heavenly. No information exists about his early education, although without a doubt he would
have been as good in French as in the Middle English of his time. (Bio.True Story) Chaucer pops

Some people collected the sixteenth century editions of Chaucer s Works. He set the goal line
for all other English authors, including, presentation, quality and success of actually printing.
(Geoffrey Chaucer) When these versions of his poems were printed, that was the time where
Geoffrey Chaucer truly became famous.(Geoffrey Chaucer) It was in Chaucer s final phase,
which he gained his popularity, The Canterbury Tales (written mostly after 1387). The
Canterbury Tales was an unfinished poem. Being his most successful, it consists of 17000 lines.
It was one of the most unsullied works in all literature. (Info Please) The Canterbury Tales is a
collection of stories written in Middle English. As a group of pilgrims travels to the shrine of
Saint Thomas they decide to tell stories to each other on the way. In a huge list of poems and
stories, the Canterbury Tales is Chaucer s most important and visual, and a stacking achievement of
western culture and Old English times. While writing the Canterbury tales he use the characters
and their lifestyles to create irony and every day events. Describing what the old English church
was really like. (Geoffrey Chaucer) The Canterbury Tales were written in Middle English, in the old
days, the tone was equivalent to London type style. Although there was never an official copy of
the Canterbury tales, Adam Pankhurst made sure that wasn t true.

Research Paper On Russian Revolution
The Russian Revolution is the collective term for a pair of revolutions in Russia in 1917, which
dismantled the Tsarist autocracy and led to the eventual rise of the Soviet Union. The Russian
Empire collapsed with the abdication of Emperor Nicholas II, and the old regime was replaced by
a provisional government during the first revolution of February 1917 (March in the Gregorian
calendar; the older Julian calendar was in use in Russiaat the time). In the second revolution that
October, the Provisional Government was removed and replaced with a Bolshevik (Communist)
government.
The February Revolution (March 1917) was a revolution focused around Petrograd (now Saint

substantial control.[1]
In the October Revolution (November in the Gregorian calendar), the Bolshevik party, led by
Vladimir Lenin, and the workers Soviets overthrew the Provisional Government in Petrograd and
established the Russian SFSR, eventually shifting the capital to Moscow in 1918. The Bolsheviks

Bacteria And Bacterial Cells
Bacteria are haploid organisms that lack the true nuclei of eukaryotic organisms. They contain one
copy of each gene thus the genotype of bacteria can be deduced from phenotypes. Bacteria can
reproduce asexually by means of binary fission and have the ability to transfer genes by several
mechanisms: conjugation, transformation and transduction. Bacterial conjugation is a process that
involves the transfer of genetic material between bacteriathrough a contact dependent process. The
genetransfer is carried out from a donor cell that contains a conjugative plasmid to a recipient cell
with no plasmid present. Plasmids are circular, double stranded DNAmolecules that can replicate
independently of the host cell genome or can be integrated into the genome and replicate with it
during cell division. Conjugative plasmids are present in both Gram positive and Gram negative
bacteria. The conjugative transfer of this bacterial plasmid encodes resistance of bacteria to
antibiotics. Subsequently, conjugation and spread of antibiotic resistance represents a severe
problem in anti microbial treatment, particularly of immunosuppressed patients and in hospitals.
Conjugative plasmids are also known as F plasmids. During the process of conjugation, F plasmid
DNA molecule replicates and one copy of the molecule is transferred to the recipient while the copy
remains within the donor cell. The F‐plasmid has its own origin of replication (oriV), which is a
specific sequence at which DNA

Rudolf Laban Theory
Rudolf Laban is a movement theorist, a choreographer and a dancer, who is also considered a
pioneer of modern dance. Through constructed theories and knowledge, Rudolf Laban has
influenced the culture of movement drastically, developing and shaping techniques which are still
used today. In the beginning, Laban movement was primarily used for dancers and dance
choreography to discover new ways to move. In the 80s and 90s, it had begun being used to help
actors and to improve performances.
Rudolf Laban was first recognised for his dedication to supporting the movement of expressionist
dance (also known as Ausdruckstanz), which had a big effect on the culture of movement as it
changed the artistic stagnation of classical ballet and the maturity within the future of art. This
movement arose in the 1900 s and was a protest against classical ballet which was perceived as
tightly held and mechanical in fixed and conventional forms. This changed movement to become
free and natural, allowing more flow and openness to arise. Rudolf Laban was considered a
significant figure within this movement as he influenced the younger youth, teaching at a creative
art school called Monte Verita situated in Switzerland. Laban became a key figure based off of his
metaphysical ideas regarding his exploration of time and space within movement which further
developed later in his career. Without Laban s teaching skills and inspiring the next generations,
classical ballet wouldn t have as much meaning

consequences and receives an award or punishment. A. Key concept or finding: The concept of
direct experience. This is when an individual has a positive or negative experience and learns from
that experience. If the experience were positive then the individual would continue to have that
experience and if it was negative then they would avoid that experience in the future. 1. Example

Attachment Theory This is when an individual has a closeness and attachment to their caregiver.
A. Key concept or finding: The concept is the safe haven function. This is when an individual
will seek out their caregiver when they are faced with stress or danger. 1. Example from novel
and analysis: An example of this would be Janelle reaching out to her Mama to care for her
daughter Shanice because she is under stress and struggling to figure out what to do. This is due
to the danger of her significant other George towards her daughter. Along with this would be
when Charlotte reached out to her Mama when she was under stress of not knowing what to do
when she thought Al was cheating on her. She reached out to her Mama to get advice and

anxiety. This is when an individual seeks the desire for closeness and protection. 1. Example
from novel and analysis: An example would be when Jamil ran away from home to Lewis s house

Pros And Cons Of The League Of Nations
The League of Nations was established after the end of World War One. The intent of The League
of Nations , was to prevent another war from occurring. Many looked to the League as its savior,
after the upheaval brought on by the Treaty of Versailles.
America World War One in 1917. It s president at that time Woodrow Wilsonat such a war had
occurred, in a world of persons who were supposed to be humane, he consequently believed that the
only way to avoid another catastrophe of that magnitude, was to create an international body whose
sole aim was to maintain world peace. This would be the undertaking of the League of Nations.

Russia and Germany) played no part in supporting the League. The two most powerful members
were Britain and France both had suffered financially and militarily during the war and neither was

Consequently, the League had a fine philosophical doctrine to end war for good. Even so, if an
aggressor state was ascertained enough to ignore the League s verbal warnings, all the League
could do was implement economic sanctions and hope that they worked as it was unable to
enforce them, without military power. The League of Nations, did however have some success.
The League had success at a social level. Teams were dispatched to Third World countries to dig
fresh water wells, Work was done in Third World countries to improve the status of women the
Health Organisation started a cause to wipe out leprosy, child labour was also targeted, they also
attempted to tackle the drugs smuggling.
These problems still exist in the 21st Century so it would unfair to criticise the League for failing
to annihilate them with what little resources they possessed. However, to me, the greatest success
the League had involving social issues, was merely the act of revelation. Informing the world at

Evolution Of Racism In America
In Europe and the United States the struggle against racism has progressed slowly and it is
becoming less evident. With organizations such as Youth Against Racism in Europe, and simply
having a black and white able to be friends, racism is beginning to decrease. It has only been fifty
years or so since America s public schools were ordered to become integrated, and we sure have
come a long way since then.
The evolution of racism began with the slave trade among Europe, North America and Africa. The
new world colonists provided a market for slavery. Europeans went to Africa and kidnapped or
bought blacks, and then went to the developing Americas where they sold them as slaves. On their
voyages from Africa to America the blacks were treated... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In actuality, indigenous people had been living there with their own religions, customs, and cultures
for thousands of years. The Europeans persecuted, killed them and tried to convert them to
Christianity. They justified this inhumane behavior through nationalism. These were racist acts
because the reason they killed the Native Americans was because they were not like themselves.
Four European countries all participated in the slave trade, which was fueled by nationalism. They
were Spain, Britain, France, and Denmark. They believed that they had the right to conquer others
and subjugate them. They thought that their religions were invalid, and that there culture and
customs were those of heathens, people who do not believe in God. The Europeans forced their
national values and their religion on the indigenous peoples. This nationalism fueled Imperialism,
the spread of their countries cultures on others by force. The cost of this Imperialism was in turn
paid for with racism demonstrated by the kidnapping of blacks who were only seen as trade items
and not human brings. This Imperialism went on until the Monroe Doctrine in 1823, which called
for an end to European intervention in the Americas, though slavery continued until

Examples Of Vestibulee In Dante s Inferno
Dante, first, talks about the people of Vestibule. These people are considered trimmers and neutrals.
People who are in Vestibule are neither a part of Heaven nor Hell. The consequences of their actions
in this world is reflected in the afterlife as a punishment. Their punishment is chasing a banner and
being bitten by insects. Chasing a banner is a punishment which reflects that these people followed
every opportunity in the world; therefore, they will keep doing the same thing in the hereafter. The
connection between the insects and the people of Vestibule is insects benefit from human beings as
the people of Vestibule continually benefit from other people throughout their lifetime. Their
punishment is not an external punishment because what they plant now is what they will harvest
later. Virgilsays, We have come to the place where / I said that you would see the woeful people

people always fight with others, therefore, their punishment is trashing. Being submerged fit the
sullen because the sullen people were given a promising life, however they spent their lives
moping and pitying themselves. Dante explains these people as, In the world he was an
arrogant person; / no kindness adorned his memory, / so his shade is furious here (Dante, 46

circle, Phlegyas, is very angry which represents the sinners of this Hell s

the disease, although no evidence is visible in humans. (Mayor, UK Government Asvises Tighter

Colonel Lloyds plantation. (Gates, 324) Colonel Lloyd kept a garden which offered employment

The case of Masciantonio v The Queen (1995) 183 CLR 58 ( Masciantonio ) is a High Court of
Australia decision from 1995 that deals with jury direction and provocation and whether the
original trial judge caused a miscarriage of justice when he inadvertently or not, effectively
withdrew from the jury s consideration the issue of provocation or whether provocation ought not
to have been left to the jury at all.

Why Is It Important To Establish A Novel On A Rare And...
Some things are so meaningful to us that we do not have the courage to share it with other, and
would rather keep it our own secret. I believe that what Hazel means when she says there are
books so special and rare and yours that advertising your affection feels like a betrayal (Green
33), is that there are books that some keep as possessions due to the fact that they are so rare and
special for us that if we were to tell anyone about it, everyone would eventually know about it.
Letting people in on your rare and special secret means telling people about your rare possession,
which would no long be rare as everyone would know about it. An Imperial Affliction holds a
special place in Hazel s heart for many reasons, however, the two most important reasons are:...

means you have to share your feelings, thoughts, and emotions with someone else. The book
presents her life, as the main character Anna also battles cancer. However, she does not hesitate
sharing this with Augustus because he already knows what it feels like to battle cancer. One of
the many reasons that Hazel feels a connection with this book is due to the fact that her favorite
book describes what death feels like without dying. Anna, the main character in An Imperial
Affliction, says that she is the side effect, which Hazel agrees to. Hazel feels as the book is only
meant for her, as she understands how Anna might have felt when battling cancer. She is able to
relate to the character so much that she is believed that the author is the only person who can
truly know what it feels like to leave your family behind when you die. Hazel reads the book over
and over again, as she is able to escape the reality and live a life through

Salman Rushdie s Haroun and the Sea of Stories Essay
Nobel Prize winner Nadine Gordimer once stated, Censorship is never over for those who have
experienced it. It is a brand on the imagination that affects the individual who has suffered it,
forever. This was a problem faced by Salman Rushdie. After years of suffering from writers block,
he overcame his obstacles and published Haroun and the Sea of Stories. It is not only a story for his
son, but a proclamation of the triumph of the writer over the oppressive forces that sought to
silence him. When read literally, the resolution of Haroun and the Sea of Stories is the defeat of
Khattam Shud as dictator. However, Rushdie s true resolution is the conquest of freedom of speech
over oppression. This is seen in how the characters ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He left the protection of the British government in 1988 after Iran officially renounced the
fatwa. However, there is still a bounty of 5.8 million U.S. dollars for his head (Allingham). In
Haroun and the Sea of Stories , Khattam shud is a metaphor for Ayatollah Khomeini and Rashid
is a metaphor for Rushdie. Khomeini stifled Rushdie s freedom of speech which caused him to
develop writer s block. He was forced to leave his family to go into hiding, which was the
catalyst for his divorce. In the novel, Rashid experiences the same plights. He looses the Gift of
Gab and his wife because of Mr. Sengupta, who is Khattam Shud s real world counterpart (155).
Khattam Shud has a cult following called the Zipped Lips, who sew their lips shut as a visual
opposition to speech (148). These are extremists, like the Muslim fundamentalists willing to carry
out Khomeini s fatwa. The majority of the Chupwalas do not believe in Khattam Shud and are
only afraid of him (132). Rushdie believes that most Muslims were only afraid of Khomeini, and
there was only a small group of zealous extremists that endangered his life.
Many of the events from Haroun and the Sea of Stories seem like childish parables, however they
are truly metaphors for freedom of speech. In the war between the Guppees and the Chupwalas, the
uniforms of both sides include bulbous nose warmers (179). This clown like attribute is used to
mock the entire conflict between freedom of speech and

The Church Of The Brethren
Church of the Brethren does not accept abortion. Participating in abortion is not support their
beliefs. Church of the Brethren is a denomination that was formed to continue their practices their
own way. They started as a small group and to this day still recruit new members. They solely use
the New Testament as their source of guidance for the practice they preach. Rational Choice theory
explains Church of the Brethren s position in opposing abortion.
The Church of the Brethren opposes abortion because the rejection of unborn children violates the
love by which God creates and nurtures human life (1984). This is the Church of Brethren s
official position concerning abortion. They feel they are responsible for the children who are
unwanted. They believe in various alternatives to abortion for the people in their community. They
still will love and support those who believe that eliminating a child from their womb is the
correct thing. Opposing abortion falls in favor with the majority of the Church of the Brethren.
However, meetings are held with the Standing Committee to discuss controversial topics, such as
abortion. The Church of the Brethren suggests that human life existed way before conception in
Psalm 51:5. Also in Jeremiah 1:5, which states that he, was acknowledged before conception. The
life of the fetus and of the mother are described as valuable in Exodus 21:22 25 (1972). According
to these scriptures, the life of a fetus is important before even existing.

A Strong, Democratic Stand Point, By Bernie Sanders
Through a strong, democratic stand point, Bernie Sanders has one of the strongest resolutions to
immigration. Being in a family of immigrants himself, Sanders understands a lot of viewpoints
from the immigrants. To solve these problems, Bernie has come up with an elaborate, six step
plan. This plan covers making it easier to get a visa, making it easier to bring your family when
you immigrate, and making equal and fair trade rights. This plan will be a major step towards
solving the task at hand. However there are in fact some opposing, credibility issues. Bernie s main

The base of this thriving economy is that we send enormous factories, and farms to other
countries. America takes advantage of the low prices that other countries will work for. America
fires their own strong workers, who want more money, for the cheap labor. In Guatemala, a little
over 60% of the population is living under the poverty line, and the other 40% isn t much over.
Poverty is no joke and a tragic issue that Bernie will fight to develop in not only America, but
Mexico, Central America, and China. In order to accomplish a change, laws need to be put in
place that will create more fair trade policies, and ways to make sure they are absolutely being
implemented. The tremendous amount of immigrants coming to America are coming for two
reasons, to escape poverty and escape a low quality of life. When in their own country, most of the
immigrants can t afford food every day, because of something that America has done to them. This
will be a major accomplishment to solve fair trade issues. An argument that goes along with fair
trade issues, is the exploitation of immigrants. When immigrants come here to get a better life, the
American companies that hire them, take advantage. America pays them less, and treats them
unfairly. Creating a reform to keep employers from abusing their workers will help to continue a
healthy flow of immigrants, and healthy working conditions. Sanders wants a safe

Women s Career And The Nineteenth Century
Women s Career Rights in the Nineteenth Century
The Nineteenth century was an age of change for America. With various reforms taking place,
industrialization overrunning the North, expansion of our country westward, and warfare soon to
erupt in the Civil War; America was a fast changing country and economy. Feminism, racism,
commercialism, militarism were all terms that would define this day of age. With the North quickly
becoming of Modern Culture, and the South soon forming Folk Culture, many reformers began to
take their place for change. Slavery and abolitionism were by far the most known reform from this
century, however, this reform may not have been as popular as claimed. Words from a British

The traditional household women were starting to become more of factory women, these women
including young, single, white women. Women were the ultimate reason as to why the country ran
so smoothly in the nineteenth century. With their efforts inside the home, including child bearing
and normal housework, to their work in industrial and agriculture economies, women helped the
economy in extremely productive ways. Soon, the home would no longer be known as the
economic center of America, and women would begin to go into their own private sphere of their

Morrison s Identity In William Morrison, Pecola, By Toni...
1. At the beginning of the novel, When the words are connected it shows perplexity and worry
which is really what happens to the Breedlove s. I think Morrison shows in her writing that also
happens to Pecola as she struggles for acceptance and Identity. Contrast is also one of the things
Morrison s powerful English show throughout the text. There is definitely a confusion between the
community because it loves and hates at the same time. Also, it is illustrated in the book that black
families are the only ones with the struggles and problems when compared with the white family.
2. Claudia s understanding of how the world could be dark was very little, due to the fact that
she was too young. So, her point of view is very insightful. Throughout the Novel Pecola is
maltreated no matter the circumstances, especially when she needed attention and support.
Morrison shows in many ways that Pocola s Environment is hostile to her. To begin with her
parents negatively perceived themselves, and it had a huge effect on Pecola and why she
perceived herself as being ugly. Also in the School, she was treated badly by the kids around her.
Her parents did not love their identity and took this out on their daughter. In addition to the hatred
that she received from her parents, she also received cruel treatment from schoolboys of the same
race, not to mention she was raped by her own father. So, I think it was important to have Claudia

Auto Title Lo An Auto Loan
An auto title loan is a type of secured loan where borrowers use their auto title as collateral. People
who get auto title loans must allow their lenders to place a lien on their vehicle title, and submit the
original copy of their car title temporarily, in exchange for a loan amount.
How to Get an Auto Title Loan
Unexpected emergencies are one of the most difficult things to budget for. If you own a car and
find yourself in unexpected situation that requires some extra money, you can always apply for an
auto title loan.
Here is how you can apply for a car title loan:
In order for you to qualify for an auto title loan, you must own the car being used as security and
the car must be paid off or nearly paid off. You will also be required to show proof of ownership as
well as your repayments on the vehicle before you qualify. The maximum amount of money that
can be given to you is based on the resale value of your vehicle, so if you have a newer vehicle in
good condition, you can qualify for a larger amount of money.
The next step is to look for a lender that you have confidence in and are comfortable to work
with. The lender you choose may consider your employment status and source of income when
determining approval. It s always important to have a secure source of income as this will assure
the lender that you will have no problems repaying the loaned amount. Most of the lenders usually
offer you 25 to 50 percent of the car s current market value.

Depiction of Time in Three Housman Poems Essay
1.Illustrate how all three of the Housman poems assigned deal with time and the passing of time.
In The Loveliest of Trees, Housman uses a cherry tree to relate the passage of time. He begins
the poem in springtime when the cherry is in bloom, wearing white for Eastertide. The image of
white and the blossoming tree give the reader of feeling of rejuvenation and rebirth, both feelings
associated with spring. The next stanza uses clever word play to describe the passing of decades
and scores. The last stanza puts the greater concept of a lifetime into perspective. He writes that
fifty springs not enough to look at things in bloom. He ends with, About the woodlands I will go to

But after some time his name and his deeds fade in the minds of the people, and new runners

minds of the people. Housman points out both the fickle nature of people and the erasing nature
of time in his poem. The theme seems to be that the passage of time is the only thing that is
constant in our world. 2.What does Yeats mean by Byzantium? How are the two poems on this
subject related to each other? Byzanium is a cultural Mecca. To Yeats it represents art,
civilization, and rejuvenation. Byzantium is a place where old souls can go to be strengthened
and supported. It is both a physical place in the sense that it did exist and post dated Rome, and
also a metaphysical place where one s spirit can flourish much like in heaven. The poems Sailing
to Byzantium and Byzantium relate to each other in subject and in time. The former of the two
concerns an individual s journey to Byzantium, while the latter is about the individual s
experiences upon arrival. If Sailing concerns his trip to heaven, then Byzantium regards his stay.
In form the two poems are identical: each consists of four stanzas of eight lines each. The
rhyming patter does differ though each does have a pattern. The use of metaphor and symbolism
is prevalent in each. A bird is referenced in both, perhaps to allude to youth in the first poem, but in
the second poem it is a golden bird

The Crucible Revenge Analysis
Who would ve ever thought that a whole town would want revenge on everyone? In Arthur
Miller s The Crucible, there are many instances where revenge comes into play. The most
important plots of revenge are when the character, Abigail, wants revenge on someone. Some of
the main plots are seen when she tries to plot revenge on Elizabeth but it is also shown when she
uses her anger to control the girls and when she steals her uncle s money in the end of the play.
In The Crucible, Arthur Miller shows that many people in the town want revenge, but in a
negative way. Throughout the play revenge is negatively shown, it is very apparent in Act II
when Abigail shows revenge towards Elizabeth. One of the most important plots of revenge on
Elizabeth is when she made it seem like Elizabeth had stabbed her. Abigail were stabbed tonight; a
needle were found stuck in her belly (Miller 860). Elizabeth received a poppet as a gift from Mary
Warrenthat night. Mary Warren had been sewing it in court and Abby was sitting right by her when

Brutality, Injustice And Rebellion
Both the novels provide an interesting perspective on revolution and demonstrate a period of
brutality, injustice and rebellion. The Kingdom of this world by Alejo Carpentier accounts the
Haitian Revolution and the destruction of the black regime, while Mother of 1084 narrates the
suppression of the Naxalites in Bengal. Also both texts focus more on the rebellionagainst the
revolution than the revolution itself. The interesting fact about Carpentiers text is that he goes
against the general assumption of slaves as victims and through his characters, particularly Ti
Noel, Macandal, and Bouckman presents slaves who are rebellious and powerful. On the contrary
he portrays the Europeans as self indulgent and cowards. Several accounts of revolutions in the
past have silenced slave rebellions and exalted the colonial enterprise but Carpentier did not
suppress the voices of the slave and presents his story from the perspective of slaves. He also
privileges African beliefs and cultural practices like Voodoo spiritualism, thereby sanctioning
African belief systems.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Building Construction Essay
Building construction is not an act of nature, and it typically is not a very environmentally friendly
activity. Every decision the architect and the engineer make throughout the development process;
from smaller scale constructions such as farm lands, parks, single housing units, and sewage system
to a larger scale such as facilities, power plants, multi family units, bridges, and highways, will have
a very close and direct impact to the environment directly and indirectly. In order to achieve a better
standard for the living quality without causing further burdens and negative impacts to the planet
earth, the ways to manage these major environmental impacts from the construction need to be
strongly enforced. Existing researches have suggested that construction sector is one of the largest
pollutioncontributors in our current society due to poor design strategies and usage of wrong
materials and technologies. These impacts are typically classified as on site and off site
construction activities. On site activities include the actual construction of a physical facility,
causing air pollution, water and soilpollution, waste pollution, noise pollution, and traffic pollution.
Off site activities are more focusing on the relationship between the pollution to the mining and
manufacturing of the materials, and the transportations of the materials. To prevent these issues,
more and more people have begun to look into the importance of sustainable construction practices,

Analysis Of Coulomb s Law Defines The Force
Introduction
Coulomb s Law defines the Force acting upon two charged objects relative to their charge that they
hold as well as the distance between them. The interaction between these two charges occur through
non contact which is prevalent over the distance between them. Vectors are most commonly used
to represent the force between two charged points. Being that is a force acting upon these two
charged objects the strength of the interaction between these two charges is a vector quantity
(Physics Classroom, 2015). The direction of these vectors is dependent on the type of charge on
these two points, like charges repel each other therefore they will have a negative force acting upon
them, as they repel each other. Opposite and a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The direction of the force is also directed along the same line which joins the to charges together.
As stated before it can either be an attractive or repuslive force dependant on the charges.
This law however can only be used to calculate the force between two point charges, a point charge
is defined as an object that has a constant charge and mass however the charge doesn t contain any
size or extension.
The Van De Graaff generatorworks by inducing a charge on top of a metal conductive surface, A
rubber belt is passed through two different materials which causes a charge to be produced. There
are small combs at the top of the generator which comb electrons from the belt onto the
conductive ball which spread across the surface producing a net charge of the surface. The top of
the Van De Graaff generator is circular which will act as point charge when the charge has evenly
distributed itself across the surface.
Aim
The aim of this experiment is to determine whether or not the force of attraction between two point
charges is accurately modelled by coulomb s law and that the force of attraction between two point
charges decreases at the rate of 1/r2.
Hypothesis
It is hypothesised that the force of attraction due to the charged grounding ball on the neutral
Styrofoam ball will follow coulomb s law and the force of attraction will decrease inversely

for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) By using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
individuals are able to be diagnosed and treated for many anxiety disorders, one of which is
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). OCD is an anxietydisorder associated with invasive
thoughts, impulses and urges which can cause severe anxiety for an individual. These obsessive
thoughts can then cause the individual to act compulsively to prevent the stress and anxiety that is
occuring (American Psychological Association, 2013). According to CBT, OCD is caused by
distorted cognitions and the way different thoughts are being interpreted (Whittal, Thordarson
McLean, 2005). Treatment for OCD includes various CBT techniques including Psychoeducation,
creating symptom hierarchies and then combining it with the behavioural technique of Exposure
Response Prevention (ERP). Both the aetiology and the treatment of the disorder have strengths
and weaknesses.
The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM V) explains the criteria for
OCD. OCD is considered to be an anxiety disorder in the DSM V. Obsessions are defined as
experiencing recurrent and persistent thoughts, impulses and urges, and can be invasive and
unasked for which then cause noticeable distress and anxiety for the individual. The individual will
try to ignore the unwanted thoughts and urges or they may try to neutralise them via

Greek Mental Illness History
The history of psychopathology goes back hundreds of centuries in the past. The history of
psychopathology goes along with social and medical history. Throughout history we can see that
mental health has evolved in the way we conceive it. Also, through history, we understand why the
mentally ill have been tortured, or protected, and this will depend on the perspective of the human
being at that particular time. Mentally ill people in prehistoric times were seen as if evil spirits
possess them, so the exorcism and spells applications were the ways to treat their condition. Today
mental illness is treated scientifically and as human disease and not as in ancient times that was
awarded to supernatural powers. Primitive Cultures 10,000 BC In... Show more content on

Hunger Games And White Noise Comparative Essay
Comparative Analysis of The Hunger Games and White Noise Both novels The Hunger Games by
Suzanne Collins and White Noise by Don DeLillo having varying representations of reality and
simulation. This is apparent in many articles and stories we have read in this course. Both
protagonists fear death and they keep up appearances to stay alive. Both showcase what can happen
when technology and the government gain too much control and the haphazard and dangerous
situations society is exposed to. These novels explore the tension that reality and simulacra create.
The environmental catastrophes that occur in both set the stage for a continuous downfall. In

Football Is Dangerous And Something That Should Not Be...
Football is considered to be dangerous and something that should not be played or watched by
people. The game should be played and watched because a lot of players work hard to fight
towards the ultimate goal of making it in the National Football League despite the possibilities
of injury. It is the player s responsibility to know when it is time for them to walk away and take
the proper safety procedures to keep them from injuring themselves. The players work hard and
do plenty of conditioning to try to keep them in shape and prevent their bodies from breaking
down. Many kids who play do it because they love the game and they gladly take the risk of injury.
Football is very popular for viewers as well. The National Football Leaguesaw a rise in ratings
following the wild card weekend this year compared to last years. Many TV networks saw a rise
in ratings such as NBC, CBS, and FOX. According to Michael David Smith of
profootballsports.nbcsports.com Despite predictions of drops in ratings due to concussions,
domestic violence, or other issues the sport still continues to thrive .The sport is becoming more
and more popular and many people believe we should watch it even though there is problems
that make some people not want to watch the game. Some people believe football should not be
watched or played due to injuries and some players being bad role models towards children.
Concussions are a major reason why people believe football is a bad thing because they can

Jean Pierre Corteggiani From The French Institute Of...
Jean Pierre Corteggiani from the French Institute of Oriental Archeology states that the Nile is
therefore life itself to Egypt. He said that the eastern part of the desert of Sahara would be nothing
without the water supplied by the Nile river. Water was life at the time of the ancient Egyptian
civilization. The source of life of this river comes from the mountains of Ethiopia, 2,000 kilometers
from the Delta. However, between the months of June to September when is storm season, the Nile
river overflows becoming a sea converting nearby cities into islands. Therefore, Egyptians tried
to keep a record of the Nile s first signs of overflow by building Nilometers to measure increases
in the water level. It took 10 years to control the annual overflowing. A thought of that time was
that gods spread blessings all over the river, since the banks of this river gave the pass to
agriculture. As new techniques were developed, so the ancient Egyptian civilization production
increased as well. Nonetheless, the Nile river became the natural route for traders. On the golden
age of ancient Egyptians, pharaohs ruled over those lands. Pharaohs were seen as a god. Touching a
pharaoh could have been punished with the death, since they were sacred. Under their commands,
gigantic pyramids were constructed. However, the logic of the edification of those pyramids and
their builders are still a mystery. All that is known is that the construction of the mausoleum
required high technical

Burials are one of the main sources of knowledge...
Burials are one of the main sources of knowledge concerning the Early Bronze Age. The most
common practice during this time was placing several generations of one family in the same
cave or tomb with a variety of offerings, such as pottery vessels, jewelry, and metal objects. In
most cases, skeletal remains were found disarticulated with the skulls separated from the bodies.
For example, at Tell Asawir bones were packed in pottery jars; at Azor there is some evidence of
cremation; and at Jericho the skulls were separated and arranged in rows (Mazar 1990). Shaft
tombs were found at some sites, such as the vast cemeteryat Bab edhDhra , where the Early Bronze
Age I phase includes several thousand shaft tombs. As no settlement was... Show more content on

At other sites, such as Megiddo, the shafts are elaborate and square, and they lead into a cave with
several rectangular rooms (Mazar 1990). They generally contained one or more disarticulated
individuals. The grave goods usually included only some pottery vessels and sometimes a number
of copper weapons (e.g. a dagger and/or a spear); beads were found with female remains.
The use of caves for multiple burials became popular again in the Middle Bronze Age IIB C after
a long gap. This method suited an urban society in which families wished to bury their dead in the
same place over several generations. Dozens of rich burial caves from this period at Jericho are
good examples of the custom. The bodies were laid on a wooden bed in the center of the cave. A
similar practice from a possibly earlier date is evident at the cemetery of Baghuz near Mari
(Mazar 1990). At Jericho, older burials were pushed to the sides to allow room for the new ones
on the bed or near it. Dozens of individuals were found in the same cave, together with a rich
collection of burial gifts, including pottery vessels (some with food remains), wooden containers,
weapons, tools, jewelry, and seals. A particular feature of the Jericho tombs is the preservation of
organic material, namely wooden furniture (Mazar 1990). Variations between cemeteries in close
proximity may indicate either a chronological sequence or the possibility that related tribal

Liberty. The word is defined as the state of being free within society from oppressive restrictions
imposed by authority on one s way of life, behavior, or political views. It says right in the Pledge

because of the freedom it means, and the rest of the world covets. It means that Americans have
freedom of religion, of speech, of press, and do not hesitate to exercise it. It means that whatever
someone believes or aspires to do, they can do it without persecution or ridicule. Libertywas one of

BACKGROUND
A cell needs to perform diffusion in order to survive. Substances, including water, ions, and
molecules that are required for cellular activities, can enter and leave cells by a passive process
such as diffusion. Diffusion is random movement of molecules in a net direction from a region of
higher concentration to a region of lower concentration order to reach equilibrium. Diffusion does
not require any energy input. Diffusion is needed for basic cell functions for example, in humans,
cells obtain oxygen via diffusion from the alveoli of the lungs into the blood and in plants water ...

CONCLUSION
In conclusion, the potato cube with the highest surface area to volume ratio (the 1x1x1 cube) had
the fastest rate of diffusion as it had the largest percentage increase in mass. While all the other
cubes of potato had larger increases in mass at face value compared to the smallest cube, the
smallest cube had the largest overall gain in percentage. The results support my hypothesis that the
smallest cube will have a higher rate of osmosis because it has a proportionally larger amount of
surface area compared to its volume.
As seen from the graph above, despite my hypothesis being correct, the trend in the percentage
increase of mass was not a steady

Araby Historical Context
Milestone Project I Part II: Sources and Historical Context When it comes to the theories of
Feminist Criticism and Psychoanalytical Criticism an interesting aspect can be found, that at times
they often dispute or ignore one another, though they often coincide. Another aspect that follows
along with this is that the often intertwine with each other. Having both these topics to analyze the
work Araby by James Joyce coincide as well with the story s on analyzed historical context, and how
the narrator s actions. Feminism Criticism was stated to be used to find women s writing
involvement in history, recovering this writing, displacement of these writings, and whether
women s tradition is being established in the text (Wolosky 1). These conquests have not

James Joyce wrote each story as a perspective view into an Irish culture. One of the main settings

The Value Of Skate Culture

During our conversation, he mentioned that in skate culture to injuries was a type badge of honor.
That s within the skate culture, and the value of a bump or bruise as a badge of honor in skate
culture doesn t really apply to many other professions or sub cultures. Though, it seems that within
various groups, there is always something that carries a value within that group that makes members
of that group feel honored because of an inflated value from other members in that group. That

Leadership Theory And Organizational Culture
Abstract
The role of leadership has evolved over the years. Early leadership theories focused on the
characteristics of the leader and have shifted to focus on the leader s behavior, skills and style.
Emerging leadership theories continued to shift focus to team leadership and subordinate
motivation. Organizational culture is exists in all organizations and influences the work
environment. Researchers have studied leadership and organizational culture individually; however
there have been less focus on gaining an understanding of the relationship leadership and
organizational culture.
In this paper, I will explore various leadership theories and relationship with organization culture. I
will also reflect on the type of leadership style that promotes a positive organizational culture.
Introduction
Leaders set the tone for the organization while Organizational culture sets the values that influence
the work environment. There needs to be some clarity on whether leadership influences
organizational culture or does organizational culture influence leadership. In order to understand the
relationship between leadership and organizational culture, we must first define them.
Leadership defined
Leadership is a process whereby an individual influences a group of individuals to achieve a
common goal. (Northouse, 2013). Leadership involves establishing clear visions, communicating
the vision to followers, and developing strategies to achieve those goals. Leaders are

UNC Communication Problems
Language and communication problems may lead to patient dissatisfaction, poor comprehension
and adherence, and lower quality of care. This is very important for the
UNC organization and their increasing population of immigrants from Ghana and Nigeria. In
Ghana, more than 250 languages and dialects are spoken (ghanaembassy.nl, n.d.) with 520 being
spoken in Nigeria (ethnologue.com, n.d.). This organization is meeting the CLAS Standards of 5,
6, 7 by offering language assistance services and ensuring the competence of their interpreters
without the use of family members. As Mr. Brice said in our interview, that sometimes the only

By decreasing the obesity rate, the patient health outcome is increased through nutrition, healthier
diets, and education. It can lower health care costs because of the potential of decreased chronic
diseases related to obesity. This can have a huge impact on a community struggling under poverty.
Children growing up healthier because of diet changes and education initiatives taught early on can
impact the organization by achieving a health care goal of ultimately improve the long term health
of a community. Another benefit is in the organization s efforts in cultural diversity and the African
American community. Through community education and hospital programs, UNC is meeting the
need for a greater cultural competency for the increased ethnic patient population. In an era of
increasing patient choice, hospitals must focus on improving care to retain patients and increase
patient satisfaction. Cultural competency builds trust and understanding between patients and
providers. Being culturally competent and providing language assistance are valuable tools in the
process to provide quality care for diverse populations. Increased patient morale and trust comes
from being understood, respected and being treated with culturally competent care. Trust translates
into a long term relationship between the patient and the hospital. A more satisfied patient will lead
to positive word of mouth

Racial Discrimination In African American History

Sea World Gold Coast Australia
Sea World Gold Coast Australia is a marine animal theme park. The park includes rides, shows and
marine attractions. Sea World founded Sea World Research Rescue Foundation Inc. (SWRRFI)
which committed to promote a number of marine research projects and rescue marine organisms
activities.
Sea World s goals are to strengthen knowledge for youth about the ocean habitat and ecology of the
marine lives, encourage the public about the marine biodiversity conservation and promote youth
education and public awareness. Positioning Sea World as teach through lively activities is also a
priority.
Past media coverage of Sea World has been largely marine mammal topics based, with little
substantial discussion around animal conservation or Sea World information. Although the media
port of Sea World provides several marine animal contents, it leads to the media relations problem:
Sea World s media releases tend to using marketing strategies that have resulted in an increasing
lack of credibility in marine mammal conservation. This does not align with Sea World goals of
youth education and strengthened public awareness.
An opportunity therefore exists for Sea World to improve awareness of marine conservation,
ecological populations and research to marine animals in the short term via media coverage in
connection with SWRRF in Queensland.

  • 2. The Tale Of Two Visions Of Power The Tale of Two Visions of Power On the eve of November 8th, 2016, secretary of the Democratic Party Hillary Clinton or politician of the Republican Party Donald Trump will become president of the United States. With their dividing views, it splits the nation in half with their ideals and plans for the future. This election is what brings out the true form of freedom of speech in America polarization between the Democrats and the Republicans. Not only does this election bring out the significance of how important it is to vote, but also what kind of leader people want to lead for the next four years. The vision of America s future could possibly be at stake depending on who comes out as the winner in less than a week. Power will be given to either Clinton or Trump, and that is what will determine the outcome of the fates for everyone residing in the Unites States for the next four years. The fate of the United Statesdepends on the people s beliefs of the constrained and unconstrained vision of power. By understanding the beliefs of the people, it divides on the country s values of what they want for the future of the citizens. These views of power can be rendered as different, yet, effective in a sense of what the people think works best for them and possibly for others. For example, the constrained view sees people who commit crimes as inherently evil and ..put their own interests or egos above the..lives of others. (1620. On the contrary, the unconstrained view ... • 3. Jane Elliot s Experiment In 1968, Jane Elliot, a third grade teacher and not a credentialed psychologist, performed a psychological experiment that conflicts with the Ethical Principle of Psychologists and Code of Conduct established in 2010 by the American Psychological Association (APA). Mrs. Elliot violated standard 2.01 Boundaries of Competence by teaching and conducting the experiment with population and in area beyond her boundaries of competence, based on her education, training, supervised experience, study, or professional experience. She also violated General Principle E: Respect for People s Rights and Dignity by conducting the experiment without consulting or asking Inform Consent from the student s parents. From a psychological, scientific perspective, this experiment does not add any scientific value; instead, it provokes emotional distress in those children to achieve her personal goal. To back up my statement Bloom (2005) says Jane Elliott s blue eyes brown eyes exercise encouraged children to mistrust authority figures. She compromised the APA s Code of Conduct and Ethical Standard because she lied, after that she recanted the lies and kept as they were justified because of her greater purpose. She abused of her power figure to inflict those under her authority. Another way to understand the deficiency of scientific value in this experiment is to approach it from Erikson s theory, which discusses about Industry (competence) vs. Inferiority Stage (5 9 years old). At this stage teachers take an important role in the child s life, as they teach the children fundamental skills important for the development of their character. Erikson s theory identifies this stage per its strong peer group influence that becomes a major source of the children s self esteem. As reported by Erikson, in this stage children feel the need to demonstrate abilities that are valued and approved by society, in order to develop a sense of pride for their accomplishments. Its mean, those children changed behavior conditioned by Mrs. Elliott demands. After encouraged and reinforced for their initiative, those children begun to feel industrious and confident in their capacity to achieve their goals, they felt superior at their turn according to her encouragements. The dangerous part of the experiment was during restrictions and moments of berate, where they felt inferior, doubting of their own abilities and therefore reducing their potential. Its mean, when a child cannot achieve the society demand (i.e. blue eyes or brown eyes) then they may develop a sense of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Taxi Driver was one of the first movies to reveal the mental effects soldiers underwent after the Vietnam War. Similarly, Apocalypse Now directed by Francis Ford Coppola, uncovers the truly severe impacts the vietnam war had on soldiers. Apocalypse Nowis about a classified mission to assassinate a renegade colonel who has set himself up as a god among a local tribe. Through the use of dissolves, lighting, and sound, Coppola is able to expose the horrors of PTSD within the brains of the soldiers due to the Vietnam War. Apocalypse Now helps explain the effects of war to viewers through vivid realistic scenes. Throughout the film, Captain Willard, played by Martin Sheen, faces many challenges such as death and insanity on his journey to find the renegade soldier. His team, Chef, played by Frederic Forrest, Clean, played by Laurence Miller, Johnson, played by Sam Bottoms, and Chief Phillips, played by Albert Hall, all show the mental effects of war throughout the trip through the rainforest. • 5. Their Eyes Were Watching God Identity Analysis What is identity? A normal person would think that it s simply defined as who we are. However, there are many definitions of identity, as it can mean differently for others. Identity is what makes us unique from one another because there is no one else like us. Since our surroundings, such as the people we meet and places we go to, possess a role into shaping who we are, we are constantly changing. As we grow up and become curious, we experiences many things and start to see different sides of ourselves. We start to question our individuality, to the point where we may struggle with whom we really are. Similar to Janie Crawford in the novel Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston, Janie struggles with identity. Throughout... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are many different factors that influence our identity, such as our family, relationships, society, etc. Family plays a significant role into shaping our identity because they can influence our attitudes, beliefs, and values. Some may grow up having the same values as their parents because it s what they are taught and they retain those values as they enter adulthood. They may be modified along the way, but it s not completely gone. Although family can help prevent us from committing poor choices through guidance, they can also hinder our ability to accomplish what we desire. In Janie s case, Nanny plays a significant part into shaping her identity. Since Janie and Nanny had only each other left, Nanny became very protective of Janie. In order for Janie to avoid experiencing the tragedy both her mother and grandmother went through, which was being raped and forced into a relationship, she wanted the absolute best for Janie. As a former slave, the grandmother, Nanny, is haunted by the compensatory dream of making her first daughter, and then her granddaughter, something other than the mule of the world, customary fate of the black woman. • 10. Bacteria And Bacterial Cells Bacteria are haploid organisms that lack the true nuclei of eukaryotic organisms. They contain one copy of each gene thus the genotype of bacteria can be deduced from phenotypes. Bacteria can reproduce asexually by means of binary fission and have the ability to transfer genes by several mechanisms: conjugation, transformation and transduction. Bacterial conjugation is a process that involves the transfer of genetic material between bacteriathrough a contact dependent process. The genetransfer is carried out from a donor cell that contains a conjugative plasmid to a recipient cell with no plasmid present. Plasmids are circular, double stranded DNAmolecules that can replicate independently of the host cell genome or can be integrated into the genome and replicate with it during cell division. Conjugative plasmids are present in both Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria. The conjugative transfer of this bacterial plasmid encodes resistance of bacteria to antibiotics. Subsequently, conjugation and spread of antibiotic resistance represents a severe problem in anti microbial treatment, particularly of immunosuppressed patients and in hospitals. Conjugative plasmids are also known as F plasmids. During the process of conjugation, F plasmid DNA molecule replicates and one copy of the molecule is transferred to the recipient while the copy remains within the donor cell. Rudolf Laban was first recognised for his dedication to supporting the movement of expressionist dance (also known as Ausdruckstanz), which had a big effect on the culture of movement as it changed the artistic stagnation of classical ballet and the maturity within the future of art. This movement arose in the 1900 s and was a protest against classical ballet which was perceived as tightly held and mechanical in fixed and conventional forms. This changed movement to become free and natural, allowing more flow and openness to arise. Rudolf Laban was considered a significant figure within this movement as he influenced the younger youth, teaching at a creative art school called Monte Verita situated in Switzerland. Laban became a key figure based off of his metaphysical ideas regarding his exploration of time and space within movement which further developed later in his career. With organizations such as Youth Against Racism in Europe, and simply having a black and white able to be friends, racism is beginning to decrease. The evolution of racism began with the slave trade among Europe, North America and Africa. The new world colonists provided a market for slavery. The Europeans persecuted, killed them and tried to convert them to Christianity. They justified this inhumane behavior through nationalism. Four European countries all participated in the slave trade, which was fueled by nationalism. They were Spain, Britain, France, and Denmark. They believed that they had the right to conquer others and subjugate them. They thought that their religions were invalid, and that there culture and customs were those of heathens, people who do not believe in God. The Europeans forced their national values and their religion on the indigenous peoples. This nationalism fueled Imperialism, the spread of their countries cultures on others by force. The cost of this Imperialism was in turn paid for with racism demonstrated by the kidnapping of blacks who were only seen as trade items and not human brings. If Sailing concerns his trip to heaven, then Byzantium regards his stay. In form the two poems are identical: each consists of four stanzas of eight lines each. The rhyming patter does differ though each does have a pattern. The use of metaphor and symbolism is prevalent in each. A bird is referenced in both, perhaps to allude to youth in the first poem, but in the second poem it is a golden bird ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 33. The Crucible Revenge Analysis Who would ve ever thought that a whole town would want revenge on everyone? In Arthur Miller s The Crucible, there are many instances where revenge comes into play. The most important plots of revenge are when the character, Abigail, wants revenge on someone. Some of the main plots are seen when she tries to plot revenge on Elizabeth but it is also shown when she uses her anger to control the girls and when she steals her uncle s money in the end of the play. In The Crucible, Arthur Miller shows that many people in the town want revenge, but in a negative way. Throughout the play revenge is negatively shown, it is very apparent in Act II when Abigail shows revenge towards Elizabeth. One of the most important plots of revenge on Elizabeth is when she made it seem like Elizabeth had stabbed her. Abigail were stabbed tonight; a needle were found stuck in her belly (Miller 860). Elizabeth received a poppet as a gift from Mary Warrenthat night. Mary Warren had been sewing it in court and Abby was sitting right by her when she was sewing it. • 34. Brutality, Injustice And Rebellion Both the novels provide an interesting perspective on revolution and demonstrate a period of brutality, injustice and rebellion. The Kingdom of this world by Alejo Carpentier accounts the Haitian Revolution and the destruction of the black regime, while Mother of 1084 narrates the suppression of the Naxalites in Bengal. Also both texts focus more on the rebellionagainst the revolution than the revolution itself. The interesting fact about Carpentiers text is that he goes against the general assumption of slaves as victims and through his characters, particularly Ti Noel, Macandal, and Bouckman presents slaves who are rebellious and powerful. On the contrary he portrays the Europeans as self indulgent and cowards. Several accounts of revolutions in the past have silenced slave rebellions and exalted the colonial enterprise but Carpentier did not suppress the voices of the slave and presents his story from the perspective of slaves. He also privileges African beliefs and cultural practices like Voodoo spiritualism, thereby sanctioning African belief systems.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Every decision the architect and the engineer make throughout the development process; from smaller scale constructions such as farm lands, parks, single housing units, and sewage system to a larger scale such as facilities, power plants, multi family units, bridges, and highways, will have a very close and direct impact to the environment directly and indirectly. In order to achieve a better standard for the living quality without causing further burdens and negative impacts to the planet earth, the ways to manage these major environmental impacts from the construction need to be strongly enforced. Existing researches have suggested that construction sector is one of the largest pollutioncontributors in our current society due to poor design strategies and usage of wrong materials and technologies. These impacts are typically classified as on site and off site construction activities. On site activities include the actual construction of a physical facility, causing air pollution, water and soilpollution, waste pollution, noise pollution, and traffic pollution. Off site activities are more focusing on the relationship between the pollution to the mining and manufacturing of the materials, and the transportations of the materials. To prevent these issues, more and more people have begun to look into the importance of sustainable construction practices, and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Analysis Of Coulomb s Law Defines The Force Introduction Coulomb s Law defines the Force acting upon two charged objects relative to their charge that they hold as well as the distance between them. The interaction between these two charges occur through non contact which is prevalent over the distance between them. Vectors are most commonly used to represent the force between two charged points. Being that is a force acting upon these two charged objects the strength of the interaction between these two charges is a vector quantity (Physics Classroom, 2015). The direction of these vectors is dependent on the type of charge on these two points, like charges repel each other therefore they will have a negative force acting upon them, as they repel each other. Opposite and a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The direction of the force is also directed along the same line which joins the to charges together. This law however can only be used to calculate the force between two point charges, a point charge is defined as an object that has a constant charge and mass however the charge doesn t contain any size or extension. The Van De Graaff generatorworks by inducing a charge on top of a metal conductive surface, A rubber belt is passed through two different materials which causes a charge to be produced. There are small combs at the top of the generator which comb electrons from the belt onto the conductive ball which spread across the surface producing a net charge of the surface. The top of the Van De Graaff generator is circular which will act as point charge when the charge has evenly distributed itself across the surface. Aim The aim of this experiment is to determine whether or not the force of attraction between two point charges is accurately modelled by coulomb s law and that the force of attraction between two point charges decreases at the rate of 1/r2. Hypothesis It is hypothesised that the force of attraction due to the charged grounding ball on the neutral Styrofoam ball will follow coulomb s law and the force of attraction will decrease inversely ... Strengths and Weaknesses in Aetiology and Treatment of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) By using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) individuals are able to be diagnosed and treated for many anxiety disorders, one of which is Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). OCD is an anxietydisorder associated with invasive thoughts, impulses and urges which can cause severe anxiety for an individual. These obsessive thoughts can then cause the individual to act compulsively to prevent the stress and anxiety that is occuring (American Psychological Association, 2013). According to CBT, OCD is caused by distorted cognitions and the way different thoughts are being interpreted (Whittal, Thordarson McLean, 2005). Treatment for OCD includes various CBT techniques including Psychoeducation, creating symptom hierarchies and then combining it with the behavioural technique of Exposure Response Prevention (ERP). Both the aetiology and the treatment of the disorder have strengths and weaknesses. The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM V) explains the criteria for OCD. OCD is considered to be an anxiety disorder in the DSM V. Obsessions are defined as experiencing recurrent and persistent thoughts, impulses and urges, and can be invasive and unasked for which then cause noticeable distress and anxiety for the individual. He said that the eastern part of the desert of Sahara would be nothing without the water supplied by the Nile river. Water was life at the time of the ancient Egyptian civilization. The source of life of this river comes from the mountains of Ethiopia, 2,000 kilometers from the Delta. However, between the months of June to September when is storm season, the Nile river overflows becoming a sea converting nearby cities into islands. Therefore, Egyptians tried to keep a record of the Nile s first signs of overflow by building Nilometers to measure increases in the water level. It took 10 years to control the annual overflowing. A thought of that time was that gods spread blessings all over the river, since the banks of this river gave the pass to agriculture. As new techniques were developed, so the ancient Egyptian civilization production increased as well. Nonetheless, the Nile river became the natural route for traders. On the golden age of ancient Egyptians, pharaohs ruled over those lands. Pharaohs were seen as a god. Touching a pharaoh could have been punished with the death, since they were sacred. The use of caves for multiple burials became popular again in the Middle Bronze Age IIB C after a long gap. This method suited an urban society in which families wished to bury their dead in the same place over several generations. Dozens of rich burial caves from this period at Jericho are good examples of the custom. The bodies were laid on a wooden bed in the center of the cave.
