Solve #1­2 by graphing.
1) y = 1/2x
x + y = 3
2) y = 2x + 3
3y = 6x ­ 6
Solve #3­5 by substitution.
3) x + 2y = 13

Lesson 6.3:
*ANOTHER way to solve a linear system is by using ELIMINATION.
*Steps:
­write the system so that "like" terms are aligned
­add or subtract the equations, eliminating one variable. Then
solve for the remaining variable
­substitute the value from step 2 into one of the equations and
solve for the other variable
­write the solution as an ordered pair
