The document analyzes gaps in Malaysia's robotics industry to inform the implementation of an Industrial Centre of Innovation for National Robotics (IC-I NR). It identifies gaps through stakeholder questionnaires, visits, and expert interviews. Key gaps include low robotics adoption, lack of a national robotics center, an incomplete value chain, insufficient human capital, and no adoption of international standards. The document outlines strategies to address these gaps based on benchmarks from South Korea. It proposes targets and plans for the IC-I NR to develop 10 service robots, train 100 companies in robotics, establish a robotics portal, increase the certified workforce, and adopt 2 standards by 2020. Limitations of the study are also noted.
