Escape from Reason and 10 Books That Screwed up the World
Introduction
Although the ultimate truth from God never changes, people s rules and thought change. For this
reason, as people change their standard and laws away from God s truth, they face difficulties. To
get through difficulties, people tried to find better way from their thinking. Even though people
know that trading the truth with lies bring only destruction, they reject the truth. Furthermore, they
say that the truth is the one brings destruction to the world. Because of their wrong focus to solve
the problem, they get into deeper problem. The book of Schaeffer, Escape from Reason and other

There are many of them familiar to people. Most standing out book from them was Mill s
Utilitarianism. I would rather be a hungry Socrates than a satisfied swine, is the worldly known
quotation in the world. Even though people do not know that quotation is from Mill s book,
many people are so inspired by the quotation, they think of it as their life guiding line. Because
Mill s focus in his life was achieving greater pleasure, he replaced God with his personal pleasure.
Living for only getting greater pleasure was repulsive to many people; however, not like their
understanding, Mill s point of pursuing greater pleasure in life was based on human level of
happiness. Mill s writing which is rather being a hungry Socrates than a satisfied swine shows his
different levels of happiness. Mill did not put everything equal in the world, but since the reasons
of people s lives were focused on pursuing happiness led the world to be screwed up.
The most outstanding author from fifteen other authors was Marx. Because of his wrong view of
man, many people went through cruel suffering. Marx was the one who drew out Communism to
the world. With Marx s wrong view of man, many people ended up killing thousands of people to
get to the point of utopia. Through many wars, some lighted people kept the world from Marx s
crazy idea of having utopia. However, with the study of Marx, many people

Rhetorical Analysis Of The American Crisis By Thomas Paine
In the cold winter months of 1776, a group of colonial soldiers experience the perils of the
Revolutionary War. They had lost New York City to British troops in August, and 11,000 American
volunteers had given up the fight to return home to their families between September and
December. Morale is low, and the service contracts of George Washington s troops are about to
expire on December 31 (history.com, par. 1). Thomas Paines pamphlet, The American Crisis, puts
some fuel back in the fight. Paine s use of rhetorical devices helps him achieve his purpose of
encouraging laymen to join the fight and soldiers to continue the fight against Great Britain.
During a time of remorse among the colonial people, Thomas Paine uses connotative language ...

He recounts a story of a father and tavern owner who argues for peace in my day, accusing the
man of being selfish and passing the problem on to his child, who would then have to fight the war
himself (Paine, lines 33 36). Also, the author uses an analogy to portray the King of England as a
common criminal. He describes a scary hypothetical scenario in which a thief breaks into [his]
house, burns and destroys [his] property, and kills or threatens to kill [him] (Paine, lines 63 64).
This analogy makes the reader see the king of England as a thief, so it would be illogical to not fight

possibilities? Explain. After the tournament when Kournikova could not reach her mother with her
unbranded cell phone, Motorola had the idea of sponsoring Kournikova. I personally believe that
this was a great idea. It was, at the article said, a perfect storm for her. She was pinned against an

She was ranked as one of the most attractive people in sports and had a campaign ad for a sports

because typically blue chip companies only go after athletes that dominate the sport, despite
athletes typically being regarded as some of the more attractive people in the public eye. Despite
the efforts of her team, Kournikova was more renowned for her beauty than her tennis game. 3.
How can we describe the brand Sharapova? Explain. The brand Sharapova can be described as
beauty, strength, hard work, and perseverance. To me, Maria represented the American dream .
Her parents came to America with no money, and she became one of the biggest stars in the
world. Things were not handed to her and she understood from a young age that the only way to
make it in sports was hard work and dedication. She represented a younger generation that did not
quite understand that. She represented young, beautiful women that did not want to get by on
looks alone. She also represented beauty, as she was one of the best looking athletes in the world.
The brand Maria could be embraced by almost anyone because her passion and dedication to the
sport and just being excellent in general is inspiring. She also represents the

Chronic Renal Failure Research Paper
Acute renal failure occurs when your kidneys suddenly become unable to filter waste products
from your blood. As a result, dangerous levels of wastes may accumulate and your blood s
chemical makeup may get out of balance. It is usually caused by an event that leads to kidney
malfunction such as dehydration, blood loss from a major surgery or injury, or the use of certain
medications. Symptoms of decreased kidneyfunction, such as fluid buildup or electrolyte imbalance
are more likely to develop with acute renal failure, regardless of how long the kidney itself has been
malfunctioning. The signs and symptoms present may reflect the actual cause of the kidney
problem. For instance, an obstruction in the urinary tract may cause flank pain, blood... Show more

Your kidneys filter wastes and excess fluids from your blood, which are then excreted in your
urine. Initially, there may not be very many signs or symptoms present. As a result, chronic renal
failure may not become apparent until kidney function is significantly impaired. It is not
uncommon for signs and symptoms to develop over time if kidney damage progresses slowly.
With that being said, signs and symptoms of renal failure are often nonspecific and can be caused
by other illnesses. Chronic renal failure usually occurs when a disease or condition impairs kidney
function such as diabetes or hypertension, which causes kidney damage to worsen over several
months or years. Unfortunately, this can potentially lead to other problems including anemia and
increased levels of phosphate in the blood. There are several different forms of treatment for
chronic renal failure, consisting mostly of medications. These medications are used to treat the
following: high blood pressure, lower cholesterol levels, anemia, relieve swelling and protection
of bones. In addition, a lower protein diet may be recommended to minimize waste products in
your blood. If your kidneys are unable to maintain waste and fluid clearance on their own,
however, dialysis and or a kidney transplant may be

Business Types Of Mr Wong Can Enter Into
There are numerous business types that Mr Wong can enter into. The one that I will recommend
will be a convenience store. He can pursuit this path as follows: 1.Sole Trader which more or less
to be controlled and financed solely by him and the advantage of managing self is that all
decisions will be made by him, setting up is easy and high degree of control. Lastly, he will be
his own boss and have the flexibility of doing things at his own pace, however the consequences
of this type of venture is that once he is no longer around to foresee things the business ceases
and in terms of cover for any eventuality such as illness or holiday it is difficult to fulfil his role
with a cover person. 2.Partnership he can be in partnership with 2 or dozen partners will be
controlled and manage by the partners. This type of venture requires contract and it will govern
by Term of the Partnership Act 1890. Each partner has a shared responsibility and each partner
bringing in a speciality. It is easy to set up the burden of risk is a share among partners. The
downside of partnership is that, there is a potential risk of conflict and partnership dissolved on
death of a partner. All partners liable for the debts of the others and unlimited Liability. 3.Private
Limited Company this is usually a small family business owned by 2 and up to 50, shareholders
and Directors are elected by shareholders. The advantage of this venture is, it is difficult for a

The Characteristics of Jazz and Blues in Langston Hughes s The Weary Blues
While I was reading Langston Hughes s poems, I have noticed his outstanding accomplishment in
his blending creation of Negro musical characteristics and poetry. And The Weary Blues is his
peaked piece of a combination of both jazz and blues. The poem reflected American African s living
situation during the Harlem Renaissance, it sufficiently revealed the cultural charm of Negros and
Hughes s fully affirms of his national dignity.
In my paper, I will analyze the methods and techniques Hughes used to highlight the musical
elements in this poem. Jazz and blues are both styles of music which were discovered by Negros.
They are important to Hughes and his culture, and according to the sad and painful tunes in jazz
and blues, Hughes wanted us to listen and understand his culture from this poem. The Weary
Blues has a rather oral character style; the fundamental key is very slow and sentimental, but the
poem is full of musicality, and makes readers felt if they are staying on the scene. I felt not only
the special pleasing quality of Negro s ballad, but also felt depressed from Negro s circumstances
during that time. So I have decided to focus on the analysis of the structural, style of language,
along with the jazzy and blues characteristics in the image of theme. And apparently, I will use
structuralism and a touch on linguistics as my criticisms to argue my statement. In the external

Good Country People By Flannery O Connor
Flannery O Conner is known for her southern grotesque and partly religious short stories that are
filled with lessons while some people might even call them parables. Her short stories are also
filled with interesting characters that are known for being frank, ironic, and a bit racist. Flannery O
Connor s short storyGood Country People displays irony through the characters names, as well as
through the actions of both Manly Pointer and Joy.
The author gives each of the characters in this story a name that is ironic since the characters
behave in a way that contradicts their name. The first character we are introduced to is Mrs.
Freeman. She is a free spirited women who loves to be involved in everything. She has no problem

She also claimed that she hired the Freemans because they were good country people which
makes the reader wonder if the Freemans are good people or not since Mrs. Hopewell is known
to incorrectly judge people. Mrs. Hopewell believes she is always in control of what is going on,
but she has no control over her thirty two year old daughter. Joy does show respect to her at the
presence of the tenants: she slams the door and calls her mother woman while her mother was
eating, with Mrs. Freeman, sitting beside (Dan 37).
We are also introduced to the one of the Main characters Joy. Although her name could be
referred to as rejoice, gladness, and happiness, she is the exact opposite. This irony begins from
the beginning of the story. Every morning Joy would get up, lumber into the bathroom and slam
the door (O Conner 261) before she even spoke to anybody. We learn that she took the academic
root and received a PhD in Philosophy, which made her a nihilist and indifferent to other people
and to the world. We also find out that she changes her name from Joy to Hulga once she turns
twenty one, which has an uglier connotation to it when compared to her previous name. Joy
Hulga creates this fantasy of herself that she is better than other people and more sophisticated
because of her age and her degree, but despite this, she acts like a child. She would wear a six year
old skirt and a yellow sweatshirt with a faded cowboy on a horse embossed on it

Why Stalin Emerged as the Sole Leader of the U.S.S.R. and Not Trotsky Trotsky was a leading
Bolshevik and played a pivotal role in the revolution, persuading Lenin to delay the revolution

these were the left wing and the right wing. The left wing said it should go and the right wing
said it should stay as it would aid Industrialisation, as it allowed free trade to sell goods on the
open market which would give money into the open market. Stalin s powerbase was due to him
being the general secretary, who was in charge of recruiting people, so when the Lenin enrolment

Being A Cheerleader Essay
It was the summer of 2011. I had just graduated elementary school the month before and I was
excited that I was finally going to be a middle schooler. During the summer, I received a flyer in
the mail that said: Do you have what it takes to be a cheerleader? Come out to the middle school
and see if the DMS Falcons is the right squad for you! I remember running eagerly to my mom
and saying that I had to do this. I was a cheerleader for a short period of time in elementary
school and I fell in love with the sport. My mom didn t jump at the idea, but the following week
there I was, warming up in my new school gym not knowing that the next person I met would
change my life forever.
The coach of the cheerleading team, Crystal Lassiter, called everyone to attention and went over
the rules. Throughout the week, Ms. Lassiter observed everyone and after tryouts she said that
everyone would receive a phone call with the results. I waited by the phone anxiously until it was
after ten PM. I was distraught. I could not help but wonder why I had been forgotten. ... Show more

John Stuart Mills Theory Of Punishment
To me punishment is a phrase that is best learned by children and criminals. As we grow up in
life we learn what you can and cannot do by pushing it to the edge, seeing just how far you can go
before being punished. We push those limits through our school, peers, family, society or the
criminal justice system. When experiencing punishment in life, if bestowed correctly the teacher
will teach the student a life long lesson. This is why when an individual has done something
dishonorable he or she should be punished as quickly and close as possible to the time and or place
of the incident. If punishment is long delayed, the connection between it and the offense becomes
stained. It makes no sense to punish an individual who has behaved properly... Show more content

punishment fit the crime. But the punishment must be harsh enough to where the person does not

Online Graduate Programs
Over the past few years there has been a significant increase in the number of students enrolled in
online graduate programs. Before online graduate programs existed, an undergraduate student could
only receive a graduate degree if they physically attended a university. However, with the
improvements in technology, students can now receive a graduate degree from their home by
simply attending lectures online, and submitting their work through email to the professor. Although
there are conflicting ideas about whether or not a student can retain the same amount of information

This differs from the classroom where there may be several questions at one time in which the

An example of the effectiveness of online learning may be seen through a recent study conducted
by the Test of Understanding College Economics. The study indicated, students who select into the
online classes perform better than they would in a face to face class (Coates, 2004, p. 533).
Therefore, it has been proven that there is no significant difference in the material learned in online
graduate programs as opposed to graduate schools. These studies show that for some people, online
graduate programs provide a better learning atmosphere than graduate schools. Therefore, online
graduate programs are better suited for some people.
In addition to being able to actively communicate with your professor online, students are able to
work at their own pace. For online graduate programs, an assignment will be given, and the
student has to turn it in before the deadline. Students do not have to worry about what time they
work on the assignment as long as it is turned in on the date it was requested. This is beneficial for
people who are trying to manage a job and attend school at the same time. Since many people have
to pay for graduate school themselves, they are often forced to work full time. Due to this, there are
often scheduling conflicts between work and graduate school. Students who attend graduate school

The Effect Of Low Ph On Enzyme Activity
Final Applied Lab Project: The effect of low pH on Enzyme Activity
Thomas Long
Biology 6380: Introduction to Biology (2155)
Summer Semester Final Applied Lab Project
Introduction
What are Enzymes?
Enzymes are proteins that initiate change. The enzymes found in the human body are naturally
occurring. They catalyze, or accelerate, all normal biochemical reactions in the body. Enzymes are
responsible for all metabolic functions and many are vital for life itself. These proteins are highly
specific regarding what they do and under what conditions they do it (2015, Enzyme Institution).
Similar to a glove and a hand, the enzyme and substrate must fit correctly in order to work.
The reactions within cells are catalyzed by a specific type of proteins known as enzymes. Enzymes
catalyze the rate of a specific reaction by recuing the amount of energy needed to get the chemical
reaction started or the activation of energy. The activity of these enzymes is dependent upon several
different things including the shape of the molecule, and specifically the concentration of the
enzyme and substrate (hydrogen peroxide). This laboratory exercise will be conducted under a
controlled environment to determine the influence of pH on the enzyme catalase.
Pre Lab Questions

differences between different types of families. In terms of physical health, most families produce
children with excellent physical health. There is only a small margin of change between different
types of families. However, mental health and special needs are drastically higher among non
traditional families than traditional families. Problems with emotional and behavioral control rise
from five percent in traditional families to fourteen percent in blended step families. Children from
these families also experience poorer dental health. Bad health not only affects the way a child
feels and operates, but it can also affect them later on in life. Many companies that would employ a
high school dropout do not offer health insurance. Since a percentage of people from non
traditional families experience bad health, they are more likely to get turned down when they apply
for life insurance. A lack of health insurance can prevent people from getting specific medications
they may need to treat some of their health problems. Non traditional families are ultimately
responsible for poor health in their

Witch Trials Shaped America
Going into this project I only knew barely anything about it. I knew Bridget Bishop and her role
though. I also knew that in the witch trials many people were killed. I chose this topic because I
didn t know much about it. Also chose this topic because it interested me. I also chose this topic
because I like to learn new things. I think this time period really shaped America and how it
evolved. It really showed people how evidence can be altered and twisted. During the trials many
people were accused but many people were not guilty. Most evidence given was spectral evidence
and this is now not used or valued highly in court. During this time many false accusations were
made and then dropped just because someone didn t like another. Also some

Bureau Of Fire Investigation
Fire Investigators have been around for many years dedicated to discovering the origin of fires
and explosions. Back in the days, fires were easily fueled by many flammable decorations and
building materials used in the common household or building. Most of these fires were caused by
the carelessness of people, flammable objects, broken rules, poor installment of wiring, and most
importantly, arson. Today, many fireinvestigation teams have been formed, determined to discover
the causes of a fire; with an extension of law enforcement, who help track down suspected
arsonists who first began these devastating fires. The history of fire investigation comes from many
sources and organizations. Dating back to 1949, one of the most well known fire... Show more

Walt Disney s Intellectual Property Rights
Sophie s business name needed to be unique enough where it doesn t actually infringe on any of
Walt Disney s intellectual property rights. Even though he name is not exactly Walt Disney and the
title of her business is DisneyHartford , the fact that she still included Disney in her title is a
problem. When you think of the word Disney , you automatically think of children s entertainment;
as a result, this goes to show that consumers typically link the word Disney to a specific origin.
Since the purpose of her business was to make an entertainment center for children, she is violating

Property refers to tangible and intangible items. Ownership is a concept that means the right to
exclude others (pg. 233). Goodwin secretly owning properly without disclosing this information
with other people or students to the least is a little sketchy. However, I guess if they legally do
own this real property than Sophie has to give it back to them. The legal system protects the
right to own, acquire, protect and divest of real and personal property (pg. 235). If they have
never sold this properly it still belongs to Goodwin. It was her fault that she purchased this
property without researching it. Sophia is also at fault for purchasing real property without
getting a title that the properly belonged to her. Ownership rights are transferred by titles (pg.

ownership towards it so it still belonged to Goodwin. Sophia got herself involved with a scammer.
Sophia should contact Attorney Sleaze and sue him for selling her property that was already owned

Essay on Moral Conflict in Antigone
The major moral conflict in Antigone by Sophocles is the conflict over which value is most
fundamental. The play presents the moral conflict over whether the god s law or the city s law is
more powerful. This seems to be the most prominent theme. The conflict arises mainly between the
tragic heroes Antigoneand her uncle in law Creon, King of Thebes. The city of Thebes had been
through a war in which Antigone and her sister Ismene have lost both of their brothers to it,
Eteocles and Polyneices. Eteocles s fighting for Thebes was buried and honored as a hero. (lines
24 26) Polyneices was left unburied and dishonored because he is considered an enemy of the city.

(line 89)
When a messenger comes to Creon, bringing the news that Antigone has buried her brother, he
begins his arguments why Antigone has broken the law. He begins by stating that a man shows
what he is made of by his skill in rule and law. In other words, the law is everything and as a
ruler, he must do everything for his country. He considers Polyneices an enemy of the city and a
threat to the security of the city as well. Thus Polyneices will be called a traitor in life and in
death and dishonored. The scene when Antigone and Creon face each other is the opportunity
for both to defend themselves. Creon questions Antigone. She bases her responses on that the
city laws proclaiming her as illegal are not the laws of Zeus or laws proclaimed by gods, but rather,
laws made by a man that one day will also die. She will honor her brother s death because this is
what the gods have proclaimed for all mankind. (lines 460 463)
In the dialogue between Creon and Antigone she also defends herself when he questions her as to
why an enemy should be honored. She responds by saying she loved her brothers and her family,
and they are not her enemies. Creon also asked Antigone why she was the only one defying him.
She answers him by saying that there are many others who do not speak out because they fear him.
(lines 508 509) Antigone offers one last argument in stating that she loves her family and will

Crisis In Sorrow
In a small urban apartment in the heart of Manhattan dwelt a small, respectable family that
consisted of a laboring father, a devout mother, and an adoring son. All of them hustling and

Analysis Of Detroit Industry Murals By Diego Rivera
I choose to write about the Detroit Industry Murals by Diego Rivera. Rivera was a prominent
Mexican painter who was commissioned to paint murals based on Detroit s history and

interior of the Ford automotive plant on the river Rough. I found it interesting that although the
paintings represent a flourishing town and industry; in reality when Rivera first began to work on

Purpose And Role Of Castles In The Middle Ages
From Historians to free lance enthusiasts one of the most interesting subjects of study is the
purpose and roles of castles in the middle ages. The strong fortified castles of England and Wales
have survived centuries of war and natural disasters that would surely destroy much of today s
modern architecture. While some may think of castles and immediately connect them to fairy tales
and princess s castles played a far greater role in the military and social development of the middle

The solution was the build rounded walls that increased the walls strength and it also made it
increasingly harder for an arms man to angle the Trebuchet properly. Caerphilly was built in 1215
for Gilbert De Clare while this castle does have strong military protection it was also built to
establish De Clares social class and enforce his dominance in the region. When building a castle, the
architects not only had to pay close attention to its fortification but also its location and its strategic
advantages. Building a castle by the water allowed for an essay access to supply s and escape

While the roles of castles in the 13th century clearly point to a military purpose that begins to

Claude Monet Essay
Art has been part of our society since humanity existed. For countless years people been creating,

was made in March or April of 1873. The piece s present location is the J. Paul Getty Museum,

Colors are around us and can describe different meanings. When colors are part of an image,
painting or sculpture, however, why do certain colors use and others are not. Monet chose certain
colors to portray different feelings, mood and makes one think. In Patricia Stokes s article
Variability, Constraints, and Creativity explained during her investigation, she decides to
investigate Monet s creativity and separate them into three phases. In phase one, it involved value
and wrote: The wheel, which broke up the light into the four primary hues and their
intermediaries, prompted Monet s initial and initially ill defined goal constraint. In his earlier
painting called Mouth of the Seine at Honfleur (1865), he used earth colors, raw umber, burnt
sienna, and blacks. After he stopped using browns and earth color and later black as well. For
Sunrise (1873), he used the colors yellow, orange, blue, green and brown. What I found interesting
is that he muted the colors so the painting looks dull. Even so orange pops with the muted blue
because they are complementary colors that perceive soothing or balance in the painting.
Paintings that have textures that can be smooth and flat or have tooth and be lumpy which can

Caribbean American Women
Carole Boyce Davies discussion on Zora Neale Hurston s essay How It Feels to be Colored Me
she uses posits Hurston s proffering to travel piece of the way with visitors as a new way of
thinking about the periphery in academia . Beginning her chapter Coming to Terms with Theory,
Boyce expresses how outdated and inefficient the current theoretical practices have become. She
states that scholars are intellectually trapped by the hierarchical systems within scholarship. Her
main critique comes from the reality of upcoming scholars having to laboriously quote Euro
American male scholars in order to establish them within their field. Under this standard what we
find is that in the constant referencing of these European scholars the racial and cultural hierarchy
of western society is sustained. Boyce suggests that common favoring of European scholarly
contributions reinforces structural biases towards the consciousness of those in the periphery. As a
result, western epistemology continues to drive current scholarship through its standardization.
And, moreover, European theory is falsely applied to the estranged consciousnesses. The
standardization of European scholarship places limitations on how the marginal subject can
articulate its existence. Barbara Christian s The Race for Theory asks For whom are we doing
what we are doing when we do literary criticism? Davies would respond to this query by stating
that current scholarship is written to and for the center. Based

The Debate Over Gun Control
Never A Win Win The topic of gun control has become very popular in recent years as there is
now more controversy than ever about the role that guns play in today s world. I have come to
be interested in this topic because it seems like not a day goes by anymore where there isn t a
newspaper published with an article slandering either the pro or anti gun control activists. Going
into this topic, I was assuming that I would end up reading about a lot of school shootings and
how it is just guns that are causing so many deaths each year, but there seems to be a bit more to it
than that. It really is no surprise that this topic has become so popular as of late, considering that in
2014 there were roughly 51,000 firearmrelated incidents, and in 2015 roughly 53,000 incidents. If
there is one thing that I for sure already know, its that guns have a huge impact on our society.
There are so many lives that are impacted by gun related incidents every year that it is nearly
impossible to get away from. So the question stands, are guns a necessary and helpful tool for
Americans to wield, or are they the merciless killing machines that they have been publicized as in
recent years? While researching gun control, one of the first major sources that I found was of
course the second amendment to the United States constitution. The second amendment is as
follows, A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the

Integrative Approaches To Psychology And Christianity...
Entwistle (2015) discusses the philosophical, historical, and practical approach to integrating
psychology and Christianity in his book, Integrative Approaches to Psychology and Christianity.
The author proposes that psychology and Christianity are ultimately creations of a Sovereign God
designed to give complementary enlightenment to mankind for worshiping God and to care for the
suffering. Integration is defined as ...a multi faceted attempt to discern the underlying truths about
the nature and functioning of human beings from the unique vantage points of psychology (in its
various subdisciplines, utilizing diverse methodologies) and Christianity (in theology, faith, and
practice) (pp. 260 261, italics in original). Psychology discerns truth through empirical means
through the scientific process of hypothesizing and testing. The author describes it as a study of the
book of God s Works . As a discipline, it focuses on methological naturalism, which canonizes only
what may be empirically tested. Theology is the discernment of truth through the interpretation of
God s Word, and of reason. As a discipline, it focuses on the supernatural and morality, how man
ought to live, not simply how man does live.
Psychology as a science, emerged in Europe during the nineteenth century from modernism
philosophy, in a world where science and religious establishment had a history of conflict. Entwistle
notes that the ...rise of science represented a shift in how the world was understood

economic gain from the multiplied positive market effect can easily outweigh the economic

Americans who will consume healthcare less frequently are needed to subsidize the cost of older
sicker ones (Oliphant, 2013). In order to achieve affordable health insurance and include the
benefits of the packages, not only must Americans actively participate in the healthcare law but
younger Americans especially. In theory, the law would create large pools of younger, healthier
participants whose premiums would help offset the cost of providing care for older policyholders
who use the health care system more (Cohen, 2013). As the deadline approaches for Americans to

has increased and has been communicated to the People. According to CNN News reporters,
President Obama encouraged young supporters to recruit their peers to sign up for healthcare on

The Effects Of Pollution On The Air Quality Standard
The two biggest air pollution in California are transportation such as cars and trucks and
stationary sources such as oil refineries and industry facilities. Two major pollutions are ozone
and fine particulate materials. Ozone also known as smog. The cause of smog includes the
automobile and industrial processes that involve combustion of fossil fuels. The products of
fossil fuel consumption are sulfur dioxide, particles, ground level ozone, nitrogen oxides, carbon
monoxide and lead. Ground level ozone formed when nitrogen oxides and volatile organic
compounds heat up under the sunlight to produce ozone. These petroleum based fuels mainly
come from burning fossil fuels such as gasoline and diesel: pollution that comes from our power
plants and industrial facilities and from the exhaust pipes of our cars, trucks, ships and trains.

shrill call or whistle expressing derision or disapproval according to the dictionary. Today, it may
sound more like a compliment rather than disapproval. But, catcalls are not compliments at all
because they are usually done by strangers in an aggressively sexual manner. They are creepy and
can cause fear because they tend to grab an unsuspecting womans attention for fun and

Pushing The Herd Off The Cliff Edge
Introduction
The idea of institutional herding has a striking implication for security price volatility. Estimations
from the essay Sending the Herd Off the Cliff Edge suggests that the predominance of herding
behavior may explain why the financial system in 1990s had been in crisis for 40 out of the 120
months or 33% of the time (Persaud, 2000). These concerns, along with the increasing stock market
ownership of institution investor in comparison to individual investors, is often used as a basis for
advocating for an increase in monitoring institutional trading in equity markets in hopes that it that
would lead to a reduction in the dominance of institutional investors in the financial market.
However such claims are not fully supported by empirical research in the literature. Two schools of
thoughts emerge the first being that herding enhances pricing efficiency, and second ascertains that
herding initiates short term trend reversals.
The emergence of two seemingly polar opposite beliefs is not as a result of lack of scholarly
competence but rather due to the nature of complexity within the subject leading to conflicts in
assumptions and methodology. Conflicts in assumptions and methodology often arise due to
rational definitional irregularities on institutional herding. An example of such a definitional
irregularity occurs when as Avery defined herd behavioras a trade by an informed agent which
follows the trend in past trades even though that trend is counter to his

note, deed of trust, documentation of the assignment of the note, and an affidavit attesting to the
trust and accuracy of the note. The motion for summary judgment was argued at a hearing on
September 26, 2013. In opposition to the substitute trustees motion for summary judgment, Sucklal
argued that the trial court judge should recuse himself and that the documents purporting to evince
the debt were fraudulent. At the conclusion of the hearing the trial judge found for the substitute
trustees , and gave the reasoning behind his findings orally on the record. On October 11, 2013, the
Circuit Court entered judgment in favor of the substitute trustees via written order, providing that it

Indifference By Elie Wiesel
There is no question as to whether or not an author can influence their reader s emotions. It is
something that most people experience at some point or another through fictional novels or a
biography, or a speech. The question is how do they do it and why. Through their use of stories and
word choice authors are able to heighten emotional intensity in order to manipulate the reader into
feeling certain emotions. In a paper or speech where authors are trying to persuade, authors create
these emotions because their audience is more likely to accept their argument and want to bring
change if they are emotionally invested in something. One particular author that is very good at this
is Elie Wiesel. In his speech, Perlis of Indifference, he describes his experience during the holocaust.
He is able to evoke emotions of remorse, and guilt from the audience by telling his story with vivid
details, and sharing his definition of indifference with the audience. He does this so we understand
that indifference is a bad thing, and it is something that we should try to end. When people think
about being indifferent to something they would think of it as something that they do not care
about, something that is harmless. While Wiesel may agree that being indifferent means not caring
he would not agree that being indifferent is harmless.
He states, Indifference after all is more dangerous than anger and hatred. Anger at times can be
creative... But indifference is never creative...

My Family Are Having A Wonderful Christmas Season !
Hey there Gina, I hope you and your family are having a wonderful Christmas season! I was
going though a bin of old photos a while ago and found some photos of your baptism, I thought I
d give them to you in case you didn t get a copy, or if you did and they got lost or something. As
for the book... Well a few months ago I was looking at deals in the kindle store in the Christian
section, and after reading the introduction chapter within the book, I was encouraged and
impressed so I bought the kindle version for myself for a couple of dollars. I was reading it a
few weeks ago, and was like, Wow, the content here is so good! I should totally get a couple of
copies to give to some of the moms that I know who have their hands full with young ones. And
anyways, you were one of the people I thought of I think I had watched the video of Wesley
frustrated with writing the letter B a few days before, so that might explain it. Haha. I remember
during a sermon hearing the pastor say that 10% of the words that Jesus used in the gospels
were direct quotes form the scriptures (the old testament), I say that because one of the reasons I
find Treasuring Christ When Your Hands Are Full to be so encouraging is because it seems to
me (from what I ve read so far) that about 50% of the words that Gloria uses are direct quotes from
scripture. It s rare for me to find a book so encouraging, and that illuminates my heart to the word
of God, books like this only seem to come along every few

Essay about Baseball Hats Boost Employee Motivation and...
USING BASEBALL HATS TO BOOST EMPLOYEE MOTIVATION AND JOB PERFORMANCE
Using customized, colored baseball hats to boost employee performance
It s been some time since the baseball hat became a symbol of recognition and high status. Wearing
a baseball hat, especially one with the right color and embroidery design makes people feel
important, appreciated, and unique.
Setting up a simple system for motivating employees to higher levels of performance and
achievement doesn t have to cost the company a fortune. The idea is to gamify productivity goals in
a way that increases employee engagement and motivation.
The idea is pretty simple:
Measure the performance of your employees based on four levels of achievement, using monthly
productivity ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Along with the Yellow Hat the employee receives an email from his manager congratulating him or
her for her achievement.
3.Green Baseball Hat The 2nd level of employee attainment
After reaching the second level of goal requirement, the employee is elevated to Green Hat status.
Along with the Green Hat the employee receives a Congratulations for your performance post on
his door bearing the manager s signature. Respectively, a congratulations email is sent and is
accompanied with a certificate and a web link not just to order her trophy baseball hat. He or she
is also given the opportunity to enter the website and customize the design of the baseball hat, the
way she desires by choosing her own embroidery design or by uploading her own stamp design.
4. A Blue Baseball Hat The 3rd Level of Performance
After reaching the third level of achievement in job productivity scale (or sales performance), the
employee is raised to the Blue Baseball Hat status. The manager personally invites the employee at
his office and congratulates him or her for the success.
Likewise with the previous level, a congratulations email is also sent by the manager. The email
is accompanied with a certificate and a web link to order her baseball, trophy hat and to be given
the opportunity to customize it the way he or she desires by

The Medieval Warm Period And The Little Ice Age
We all know that atmosphere is continually evolving. We have had ice ages and hotter periods
when gators were found in Spitzbergen. Ice ages have happened in a hundred thousand year
cycles for the last 700 thousand years. There also have been time periods that seemed to have
been hotter than the present in spite of CO2 levels being lower than they are currently. Overall
what I am saying is that we have had the medieval warm period and the little ice age. Because of
these evolutions there has been different effects on the earth.
Some of these effects of evolution include global warming. There are many different effects of
global warming that occur all over the world. Global warming is one of the most important issues
that is facing the world

Final Voting Patterns
The Problem
Merriam Webster online dictionary defines democracy as a form of government in which the
supreme power is vested in the people and exercised by the people (www.merriam webster.com).
But the one big problem is that We the people are not exercising their supreme power to determine
the U.S. government. Less than half of the eligible electorate showed up at the polls for the 1996
U.S. presidential election. While lower turnout has marred previous presidential elections, 1996 s
voter turnout dipped below 50 percent for the first time in more than 30 years. It appears that the
people s increasing cynicism about politicians that they lie to get elected and the perception that
people have no respect or confidence in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Research Design
Data used for this term paper was obtained from Houghton Mifflin Company through the 1996
Voter s Data Set found as part of the Crosstabs package. The dependent variable (rows) I chose to
highlight the 1996 U.S. presidential election voting pattern was the Final Voting Choice. The
independent variables (columns) I chose were personal traits such as education, income, age,
religious affiliations, race, and gender. The data made available by the Crosstabs program was
compiled in a statistically scientific way by a national survey of citizens before and after the 1996
election. The objective of this research is to determine which of the personal traits of the electorate
has a positive, negative, or an indifferent impact on voter turnout. Therefore, I have made the
following five assertions in the below listed hypotheses:
Hypothesis 1: Voters with higher education (which generally results in higher household incomes)
are more likely to vote.
Hypothesis 2: Young voters are least likely to vote when compared with their older counterparts.
Hypothesis 3: Voters who have religious affiliations are more likely to vote.
Hypothesis 4: African Americans are less likely to vote than Caucasian Americans.
Hypothesis 5: There is no significant difference in the level of participation in an election by men
and women.

Escape from Reason and 10 Books That Screwed up the World Introduction Although the ultimate truth from God never changes, people s rules and thought change. For this reason, as people change their standard and laws away from God s truth, they face difficulties. To get through difficulties, people tried to find better way from their thinking. Even though people know that trading the truth with lies bring only destruction, they reject the truth. Furthermore, they say that the truth is the one brings destruction to the world. Because of their wrong focus to solve the problem, they get into deeper problem. There are many of them familiar to people. Most standing out book from them was Mill s Utilitarianism. I would rather be a hungry Socrates than a satisfied swine, is the worldly known quotation in the world. Even though people do not know that quotation is from Mill s book, many people are so inspired by the quotation, they think of it as their life guiding line. Because Mill s focus in his life was achieving greater pleasure, he replaced God with his personal pleasure. Living for only getting greater pleasure was repulsive to many people; however, not like their understanding, Mill s point of pursuing greater pleasure in life was based on human level of happiness. Mill s writing which is rather being a hungry Socrates than a satisfied swine shows his different levels of happiness. Mill did not put everything equal in the world, but since the reasons of people s lives were focused on pursuing happiness led the world to be screwed up. The most outstanding author from fifteen other authors was Marx. Because of his wrong view of man, many people went through cruel suffering. Marx was the one who drew out Communism to the world. With Marx s wrong view of man, many people ended up killing thousands of people to get to the point of utopia. • 3. Rhetorical Analysis Of The American Crisis By Thomas Paine In the cold winter months of 1776, a group of colonial soldiers experience the perils of the Revolutionary War. They had lost New York City to British troops in August, and 11,000 American volunteers had given up the fight to return home to their families between September and December. Morale is low, and the service contracts of George Washington s troops are about to expire on December 31 (history.com, par. 1). Thomas Paines pamphlet, The American Crisis, puts some fuel back in the fight. Paine s use of rhetorical devices helps him achieve his purpose of encouraging laymen to join the fight and soldiers to continue the fight against Great Britain. The brand Sharapova can be described as beauty, strength, hard work, and perseverance. To me, Maria represented the American dream . Her parents came to America with no money, and she became one of the biggest stars in the world. Things were not handed to her and she understood from a young age that the only way to make it in sports was hard work and dedication. As a result, dangerous levels of wastes may accumulate and your blood s chemical makeup may get out of balance. It is usually caused by an event that leads to kidney malfunction such as dehydration, blood loss from a major surgery or injury, or the use of certain medications. Symptoms of decreased kidneyfunction, such as fluid buildup or electrolyte imbalance are more likely to develop with acute renal failure, regardless of how long the kidney itself has been malfunctioning. The Effect Of Low Ph On Enzyme Activity Final Applied Lab Project: The effect of low pH on Enzyme Activity Thomas Long Biology 6380: Introduction to Biology (2155) Summer Semester Final Applied Lab Project Introduction What are Enzymes? Enzymes are proteins that initiate change. The enzymes found in the human body are naturally occurring. They catalyze, or accelerate, all normal biochemical reactions in the body. Enzymes are responsible for all metabolic functions and many are vital for life itself. These proteins are highly specific regarding what they do and under what conditions they do it (2015, Enzyme Institution). Similar to a glove and a hand, the enzyme and substrate must fit correctly in order to work. The reactions within cells are catalyzed by a specific type of proteins known as enzymes. Enzymes catalyze the rate of a specific reaction by recuing the amount of energy needed to get the chemical reaction started or the activation of energy. The activity of these enzymes is dependent upon several different things including the shape of the molecule, and specifically the concentration of the enzyme and substrate (hydrogen peroxide). This laboratory exercise will be conducted under a controlled environment to determine the influence of pH on the enzyme catalase. The play presents the moral conflict over whether the god s law or the city s law is more powerful. This seems to be the most prominent theme. The conflict arises mainly between the tragic heroes Antigoneand her uncle in law Creon, King of Thebes. The city of Thebes had been through a war in which Antigone and her sister Ismene have lost both of their brothers to it, Eteocles and Polyneices. Eteocles s fighting for Thebes was buried and honored as a hero. (lines 24 26) Polyneices was left unburied and dishonored because he is considered an enemy of the city. He begins by stating that a man shows what he is made of by his skill in rule and law. In other words, the law is everything and as a ruler, he must do everything for his country. He considers Polyneices an enemy of the city and a threat to the security of the city as well. Thus Polyneices will be called a traitor in life and in death and dishonored. The scene when Antigone and Creon face each other is the opportunity for both to defend themselves. Creon questions Antigone. She bases her responses on that the city laws proclaiming her as illegal are not the laws of Zeus or laws proclaimed by gods, but rather, laws made by a man that one day will also die. She will honor her brother s death because this is what the gods have proclaimed for all mankind. (lines 460 463) In the dialogue between Creon and Antigone she also defends herself when he questions her as to why an enemy should be honored. She responds by saying she loved her brothers and her family, and they are not her enemies. Creon also asked Antigone why she was the only one defying him. In phase one, it involved value and wrote: The wheel, which broke up the light into the four primary hues and their intermediaries, prompted Monet s initial and initially ill defined goal constraint. Caribbean American Women Carole Boyce Davies discussion on Zora Neale Hurston s essay How It Feels to be Colored Me she uses posits Hurston s proffering to travel piece of the way with visitors as a new way of thinking about the periphery in academia . Beginning her chapter Coming to Terms with Theory, Boyce expresses how outdated and inefficient the current theoretical practices have become. She states that scholars are intellectually trapped by the hierarchical systems within scholarship. Her main critique comes from the reality of upcoming scholars having to laboriously quote Euro American male scholars in order to establish them within their field. Under this standard what we find is that in the constant referencing of these European scholars the racial and cultural hierarchy of western society is sustained. Boyce suggests that common favoring of European scholarly contributions reinforces structural biases towards the consciousness of those in the periphery. As a result, western epistemology continues to drive current scholarship through its standardization. And, moreover, European theory is falsely applied to the estranged consciousnesses. The standardization of European scholarship places limitations on how the marginal subject can articulate its existence. These concerns, along with the increasing stock market ownership of institution investor in comparison to individual investors, is often used as a basis for advocating for an increase in monitoring institutional trading in equity markets in hopes that it that would lead to a reduction in the dominance of institutional investors in the financial market. However such claims are not fully supported by empirical research in the literature. Two schools of thoughts emerge the first being that herding enhances pricing efficiency, and second ascertains that herding initiates short term trend reversals. The emergence of two seemingly polar opposite beliefs is not as a result of lack of scholarly competence but rather due to the nature of complexity within the subject leading to conflicts in assumptions and methodology. • 43. Indifference By Elie Wiesel There is no question as to whether or not an author can influence their reader s emotions. It is something that most people experience at some point or another through fictional novels or a biography, or a speech. The question is how do they do it and why. Through their use of stories and word choice authors are able to heighten emotional intensity in order to manipulate the reader into feeling certain emotions. In a paper or speech where authors are trying to persuade, authors create these emotions because their audience is more likely to accept their argument and want to bring change if they are emotionally invested in something. One particular author that is very good at this is Elie Wiesel. In his speech, Perlis of Indifference, he describes his experience during the holocaust. He is able to evoke emotions of remorse, and guilt from the audience by telling his story with vivid details, and sharing his definition of indifference with the audience. He does this so we understand that indifference is a bad thing, and it is something that we should try to end. When people think about being indifferent to something they would think of it as something that they do not care about, something that is harmless. Hypothesis 4: African Americans are less likely to vote than Caucasian Americans. Hypothesis 5: There is no significant difference in the level of participation in an election by men and women.
