EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The pace of suicide continued whereas in the
period from January 2015 to August 31, 2015
accordingto what hasbeen monitoringthe cases
of suicide actually happened amounted about
170 cases. These are otherwise the suicide
attempts and were rescued.
 Man was the biggest number in the suicide
cases, since women reached 32 cases only in by
18.82% while men cases reached 138 by
81.17%.
 In addition, the highest percentage of suicide
cases was among the youth in the age group
between 18: 35 since they were 89 cases by
52.35%.

INTRODUCTION
Egypt suffered from suicide phenomenon at the beginning of 2015 extensively of what
has been monitored in the last months of 2014; the year that marked as the start of the
emergence of this phenomenon and its push to the surface of events, and its
transformation from rare individual incidents to a phenomenon deserves careful
attention and monitoring its variables.

This report depends on what has been monitored accordingly to mass media,
newspapers and websites.
NUMBERS ANNOUNCE AN INCREASING IN THE SUICIDE CASES AND TURN IT INTO
NOTABLE PHENOMENON
 After last September 2014 has passed with 12 cases actually happened and were
not rescued; The same pace of suicideattempts were continued throughoutwhole
of Egypt; "The Egyptian Coordination Of Rights And Freedoms" has monitored 31
suicide cases in the period between the beginning of October till the mid of
November 2014.
 The paceof suicidecases continuedto escalate, whereasin the periodfromJanuary
2015 to 31 August 2015 according to what has been monitoring 170 cases of
suicideactually happened. Thisis otherwise the suicideattempts and wasrescued.
 Man was the biggest number in the suicide cases, since women reached 32 cases
only in by 18.82% while men cases reached 138 by 81.17%.

CLASSIFICATION BY AGE
The highest percentage of suicidecases wereamong the youthin the age range between
(18:35)sincereached 89cases by %52.35,followedby32suicidecases in maturityclass
between (36-60) by %18.82, followed by 30 unknown age cases by %17.64, This is
otherwise 16 suicidecases amongchildren and juveniles(between oneyear old: until17
years old) by 10.19%, as well as 3 cases in the elder class over 60 years old by 1.9%.
CLASSIFICATION BY SUICIDE REASONS
 Suicidereasonsvariedas it'sincludedpsychologicaland social reasons,and causes
and physical constraints:
Psychological causes cameon the first stage since it has reached 55 casesby 32.35%, It's
usually mean depressed, psychological distress and rage.
Followed by social causes with 45 cases by 26.75% and varied between disagreements
and family conflicts, and issues about learning and fear and dismissal of education, As
well as maritaldisputesandquarrels, anda lotof these socialconflicts arelinked because
of another reasons such as financial crises and constraints, but indirectly.
Then camethe directfinancialcrisesandeconomicissues in the third stage ofthe reasons
which equal 36 cases by 21.17%,
Followed by "unknown" reasons with 26 cases by 15.29%!
At the end, eight peoplecommitted suicide by 5.09% for reasonsrelated to performance
of the government in the countries, sincea man committed suicidebecause the governor

refused to meet him, and another onebecause of his sufferingfrom the oppression of his
superiors and his inability to obtain his right, as well as 4 criminal prisoners.
CLASSIFICATION BY OCCUPATION
 We notice at the head closeness between the two classes of workers and students and
students came at the first stage with 36 cases spread over different ages by 21.17 %, After
exclusion of 39 cases which came at the first stage because its occupation is unknown by
24.84 %.
 As for workers the number of suicide cases reached 36 case by %21.17, It means that loss
of hope and unwillingness to face the difficulties and the many life crises and problems
made the one who seek knowledge close to the simple worker who may be hasn't any
certificate.
 Followed by "other "class of occupation which included housewife, man in retirement
age, as well as 2 secretaries of Police, 1 captain, 4 prisoners and 2 sentries, the cases here
reached 30 cases by 17.64%.
 Followed by "unemployed" it is a normal matter because of the weakness of his income
and many financial hardships and then family problems arising from them and the
number reached here 14 cases by 8.2 %.
 Then came "employed" class with ten cases by 5.88%.
 Followed by "professional" class such as doctor, engineer and lawyer since it's reached
five cases by 2.94%.
RECOMMENDATION
This report sets off alarm bells that the percentage of youth who suffer from danger problems
since suicide became strongly notable in this class, which must be vigorously addressed,
especially as the phenomenon now creeps to children that mean the rising risk to all new
generations.
This report recommends the necessity of addressing the impact of political and economic
conditions which the country suffers from, since the suicide cases has emerged as a
phenomenon in during the past two years largely, and the observer of the previous cases sees
that the current situations which the countries suffer from since 3 July until now and so far have
