Discuss about what students think History is? And what’s the meaning of
prehistory?; Display of what do we know/what do we want to know?
2 EXPLORE
Stone age vocabulary: matching exercise and classify into groups: food,
clothing, homes or tools
PowerPoint: What do they eat? distinction between hunters (bow, arrows),
gatherers, farming; Poster with three columns to sort items into Palaeolithic,
Mesolithic and Neolithic

Worksheet: Describe tools (I see a ...; It is made of...; I think it was for...; I
wonder who used it?...)
3 EXPERIENCE
Visit to Museo Provincial de Zaragoza, actividad “Un día cualquiera en la
Prehistoria”
Thinking chart: How do we know how was living in the Stone age?: pottery,
tools, drawing, fossils. Where can we found them? What each of them inform
about? Fill in with information from the previous lessons, from the visit to the
museum or from reference books in the school library
Create their fossils with sugar paste.
4 EXPLAIN
Explain to the classroom which fossil have they “found”: What it was?, Where
may he/she has found it?, Is it belong to an extinct animal or plan? , etc.
5 EXTEND
Survey: What was the most important discovery in the Stone Age?
We ask to other students, teachers, families, as many people answer the
better. We interview people and we post it on the school blog to allow
participation.
We count the answer and get conclusions about it.
6 EVALUATE
Provide a task card to students with the following instructions:
- Make a display about the Stone Age
- It may contain information about food, clothing, homes, tools and
discoveries.
- You must mention at least 2 items of each of the topics
- You may present information with pictures and texts
