1. Central Fest - Phunk Fest
Saturday 20th November.
Our festival was called Central Fest and took place on Saturday 20th
November. It was a festival which celebrated talent and a festival which
brought the community together to enjoy a variety of events.
A few of the events that we had in our festival were bouncy castles,
archery, live performances, refreshments for purchase, an art exhibition,
a film room which displayed movies and gave out free popcorn from the
popcorn maker, nail painting, facepainting, balloon making, a samba
class, a citizenship stall, an idea store stall promoting what they have on
offer, an apps for good stall which was about creating apps, a healthcare
stall and a stall about tower hamlets.
The varied events allowed people of all ages to enjoy their time at the
festival and try out things they have't tried before.
The aim of the festival was to attract families from young to old to come
out and enjoy themselves in a community based environment in order
to make the community more cohesive and for people to just have fun!
After seeing the result of the event, I think we definetly achieved that
goal and was successful in doing so. It seemed that many families
enjoyed what we had on offer and appreciated the live preformances
that were shown. I think the festival the attracted the target audience
that we intended it to which is a great achievement. I think we managed
this because we promoted the festival mainly at primary schools so that
we could attract as many young people as possible.
Out of the many events that we held in the festival, I think the main
ones which contributed most to the festival was definitely the bouncy
castle and the creative room which contained nail painting, balloon
modelling and face painting. This is because I feel that the bouncy castle
attracted the audience very well and was the thing that lured the
families in and was great fun for the kids. Then the creative room
supported the bouncy castle as it was another fun thing for the children
to do and left them fascinated.
Overall, I think the festival was very successful and was a fun, experience
in which I think I gained a lot of knowledge from. I would love to conduct
a festival again and if I ever did do this, then I know what can be
improved and what can not be included.
