The author was involved in organizing and helping at the Central Fest festival held at their school. As part of the Performing Arts group, they helped schedule performances and judge auditions. On the day of the festival, the author took on multiple roles like finding rooms, signing people in, and ensuring safety. The festival was a success with no accidents and attracted many children to activities like face painting and movies. Feedback showed adding more family activities could improve future festivals, but keeping the performances was important.

Central Fest Review
1. 666750-542925Central Fest Review00Central Fest Review
Central Fest was on the 20th of November in the College Terrance of Central Foundation Girls School.
The festival starts at 11:00am and finish at 2:00pm.
In the making of the festival, I was part of the Performing Art Group. My role was to be in charge of making the Central Fest Performance Scheduled. But before that we had to hold up an audition for performers to show their talents, I was to be one of the judges. We chose the acts that I and the other Girls agree with that we represent the school well. I took part in helping the organising team interview the helpers for the festival. This took place on the 18th of November (2days before the festival). This was to make sure that our helpers are well behaved and can cope with different scenarios that might occur in the festival. Friday the 19th of November was when I help out with setting the festival and putting signs around the area for those who are unsure of where to go or be.
The day of the festival was the 20th of November; I was in charge of making sure that the performers are where they need to be and making sure the stage area is safe for the next performance. During the festival I took on board with different roles: I have to find a spare room for a teacher to do a workshop for dance, I also make sure that everyone signs in before entering the festival. Also I had to make sure that the kids are safe on the bouncy-castle.
The aim of the festival was to make sure that everyone had a good time. And I must say that the festival achieved its aim. There was no specific target audience for the festival, the festival was organised so that everyone can come along and enjoy them selves. Nevertheless, the festival in its own right attracts a lot of children’s who are fascinated with the bouncy-castle and are eager to have a go on it.
The audience especially the children’s were attracted to mainly the face paint, nail paint and the cinema room.
In the festival, there was no accidents that happens which is really good.
I think that the festival went well because all the volunteers and the festival team work really well together helping the audiences with their problems or questions. And also making sure that the festival runs smoothly as it was planned.
If there was to be another festival, what I will do differently is hire more activities for families to participate in because 35 people choose that in the evaluation form. But what I will keep the same is the performance.
