During the Roman period from 753 BC to 476 AD, men and women wore distinct styles of clothing and accessories. For men, common garments included a loincloth, tunic, and toga made from materials like linen, silk, cotton, and wool. Women wore interior tunics under longer dresses called stolas and used shawl-like palla cloaks, and adorned themselves with crafted jewelry, hats, fans, and cosmetics. Both sexes also wore cloaks for protection from the elements.
