4. How the Manchester cultural awards helped
recreate the city of Manchester.
• Young person of the year of
the award (aged 13-25) is
helping to inspire a lot of
young Manchester people
which also gives people a look
in at Manchester from other
cities to be a creative, young
and inspiring city.
5. Why do we do cultural awards?
• Arts bringing each other together and helping understand each others
diversity. They bring out understanding within people.
• Art and culture help with forging a personal identity and showing you
creativity.
• Cultural awards provides socially and economically benefits. Brings
more publicity to the city and the people within it.

• Reading UK executive director Nigel Horton-Baker said: “The Reading
Cultural Awards recognise individual and collective excellence in the arts,
culture and heritage and demonstrate the important role they play in

9. Cultural awards Liverpool 2008
On 4th June 2003, Liverpool was
announced as the European Capital
of Culture for 2008. The
award represented an opportunity
for urban regeneration, as well as a
revival of the cultural, social and
economic image of the city. Liverpool
saw enormous advantages from the
win.

• Liverpool Football Club is a
professional football club in Liverpool,
England, that competes in the Premier
League, the top tier of English football.
Domestically, the club has won
nineteen League titles, seven FA Cups, a
record eight League Cups and fifteen FA
Community Shields. In international
competitions, the club has
won six European Cups, more than any
other English club, three UEFA Cups,
four UEFA Super Cups (also English
records) and one FIFA Club World cup.
The reason I am choosing to do sports in
Liverpool as it is the main sport and it is good
to bring people together as a culture and
shows diversity. Football is especially good to
write about in Liverpool as it is the most
popular sport and also home to one of the
worlds biggest football clubs.
17. Wat is the award going
to be?
My award is going to be club
of the year based in Knowsley,
Liverpool. The event will be
sports based. This award is
targeted at amateur or below
level football teams that play
in a weekend league in
Liverpool.
19. Award ceremony 2023
I would host an award ceremony at a date in
2023 to be able to present the player of the
year u21 award.

• The district I am basing my event
in is Knowsley. I have chosen this
area as I know it very well and
played some sports there as a
child my self.
