The London Olympics will see new sporting facilities constructed as well as use of existing venues across the UK. The Olympic Park and main stadium will be located in Stratford, East London, which has undergone major regeneration. There will be 26 sports and 38 disciplines in the 2012 Summer Olympics, and 20 sports and 21 disciplines in the 2012 Paralympics, though baseball and softball have been removed from the 2012 Games by the IOC. London is improving its transportation system to help athletes commute to venues in under 20 minutes, including a new high-speed rail service from St. Pancras to the Olympic Park in just 7 minutes. Around 8 million tickets will go on sale in 2011 for the 2012 Olympic Games.
