7. And there came a company of travelers; then they sent their
water drawer, and he let down his bucket. He said, "Good

as merchandise; and Allah was knowing of what they did.

content with little.

We established Joseph in the land that We might teach him the interpretation of
events. And Allah is predominant over His affair, but most of the people do not
know.

15. And when Joseph reached maturity, We gave him
judgment and knowledge. And thus We reward
the doers of good.

• Knowledge is the accumulation of facts and
data that you have learned.
• Wisdom is the ability to discern and judge
which aspects of that knowledge are true,
right, lasting, and applicable to your life.
• Insight is grasping the underlying nature of
knowledge, and the essence of wisdom.

17. And she, in whose house he was, sought to seduce him. She closed
the doors and said, "Come, you." He said, "[I seek] the refuge of
Allah . Indeed, he is my master, who has made good my residence.
Indeed, wrongdoers will not succeed."

19. Shade of Allah when no other
shade
Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet (‫)ﷺ‬ said, "Seven people will be shaded by Allah
under His shade on the day when there will be no shade except His. They are:
(1) a just ruler;
(2) a young man who has been brought up in the worship of Allah,
(3) a man whose heart is attached to the mosque
(4) two persons who love each other only for Allah's sake and they meet and part
in Allah's cause only
(5) a man who refuses the call of a charming woman and says: I am afraid of Allah
(6) a person who practices charity so secretly that his left hand does not know
what his right hand has given
(7) a person who remembers Allah in seclusion and his eyes get flooded with
tears.” (Bukhari)

20. And she certainly determined [to seduce] him, and he would have
inclined to her had he not seen the proof of his Lord. And thus [it
was] that We should avert from him evil and immorality. Indeed, he
was of Our chosen servants.

21. ‫برھان‬: Preventive Factor
It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that:
the Messenger of Allah (‫)ﷺ‬ said: "Allah has
forgiven my nation for what they think of to
themselves, so long as they do not act upon it
or speak of it.” (Ibn Majah)

not alone with a woman but the third of them
is Ash-Shaitan. (Tirmidhi)

24. And they both raced to the door, and she tore his shirt from the back,
and they found her husband at the door. She said, "What is the
recompense of one who intended evil for your wife but that he be
imprisoned or a painful punishment?"
Verse 25

25. [Joseph] said, "It was she who sought to seduce me." And a
witness from her family testified. "If his shirt is torn from the
front, then she has told the truth, and he is of the liars.
Verse 26

26. But if his shirt is torn from the back, then she
has lied, and he is of the truthful."
Verse 27

27. So when her husband saw his shirt torn from the back,
he said, "Indeed, it is of the women's plan. Indeed, your
plan is great.

28. Biggest Fitna
Narrated Usama bin Zaid: The Prophet (‫)ﷺ‬ said,
"After me I have not left any trial more severe
to men than women.” (Bukhari)

• Women who read romance novels are more
easily seduced than those who don’t.
• Scientists from Indiana University found that
when men were shown images of women
making a advance, they tended to see sexual
cues as being merely friendly, and saw
friendly gestures as showing sexual interest.

30. Insincere Love
• Based only on pleasure or lust
• Quick to flare and quick to die
• Real love is based on Allah’s pleasure
• Clarity on Halal and Haram

31. Joseph, ignore this. And, [my wife], ask
forgiveness for your sin. Indeed, you were of
the sinful."
