The 3rd internal assessment for the 2009-10 Physiology syllabus includes two papers and two practical sessions. Paper 1 covers the endocrine system, reproductive system, and chapters 14-19 of the Guyton textbook on cardiovascular physiology. Paper 2 covers the nervous system and special senses. Each paper consists of 30 multiple choice questions, 10 short answers, 6 short essays, and 1 long essay. Practical 1 involves experiments on humans related to blood pressure, exercise effects on blood pressure, posture effects on blood pressure, and respiratory parameters. Students will interpret one clinical case history. Practical 2 involves clinical examinations of various body systems and calculations.
