The BigDataEurope project aims to empower mobility management with big data. It has developed a modular platform that allows end-users to easily deploy functionality in their own systems using Docker containers. The platform is being tested through 7 pilot projects aligned with European societal challenges related to data-driven solutions. One pilot focuses on transport in Thessaloniki, Greece, using GPS, Bluetooth, and other probe data to improve map matching and mobility pattern recognition and forecasting to better manage traffic. DSM Extraction from Pleiades Images using Micmac
This document summarizes a study using the open-source photogrammetry software MicMac to extract digital surface models (DSMs) from Pleiades satellite images. The study used MicMac to generate orthophotographs, point clouds, and DSMs of two areas. For one area, the results included a sparse point cloud, orthophotograph, and shaded relief DSM. For the other area, the workflow generated tie points, grid orientation files, and DEMs and orthophotos. The conclusion was that MicMac can create georeferenced DSMs and digital terrain models from Pleiades images with some adaptations. Future work proposed improving the MicMac application and creating 3D reconstructions.

GRASS GIS (Geographic Ressourcen Analysis Support System) blickt mit nun 30 Jahren auf die längste Entwicklungsgeschichte in der FOSSGIS Community zurück. Die stark ansteigende Nachfrage nach robusten und modernen freien Analysewerkzeugen, v.a. im Hinblick auf die heutzutage enormen räumlichen Datenmengen führte 2008 zum Beginn der GRASS GIS 7 Entwicklung. In Bezug auf GRASS GIS 6.4 wurden inzwischen mehr als 10.000 Verbesserungen vorgenommen.
Die Entwicklercommunity hat eine Reihe von neuen Modulen für Vektornetzwerkanalyse, Bildverarbeitung, Voxelanalyse, Zeitreihenspeicherung (Raster, Vektor, Voxel) und eine verbesserte grafische Benutzeroberfläche integriert (http://trac.osgeo.org/grass/wiki/Grass7/NewFeatures). GRASS GIS 7 bietet eine neue Python Schnittstelle, die auf einfache Weise ermöglicht, neue Anwendungen zu erstellen, die leistungsfähig und effizient sind. In der Benutzeroberfläche gibt es nun ein neues Werkzeug für die Animation von Raster-und Vektorkartenzeitreihen, einen verbesserten Georektifier, ein neues Werkzeug zur überwachten Bildklassifikation, einen "map swiper" zum interaktiven Vergleich zweier Karten (z.B. für Katastrophen) und ein visuelles Zeitreihenmanagement.

State of mago3D, An Open Source Based Digital Twin Platform
I gave this talk at the FOSS4G Thailand 2019 which was held at Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok on 4th Nov 2019. I talked about the recent achievements and improvements of mago3D project, an open source based Digital Twin platform. mago3D(http mago3d.com) is relatively new project first released in July 2017. The ultimate goal of mago3D is developing an open source based digital twin platform that can replicate and simulate the real world objects, processes, and phenomena on web environment. mago3D has been used in various industry sectors including ship building, urban management, indoor data management, and national defense. In this talk I showcased several real projects that used the mago3D and shared what I learnt from these projects. Also I introduced new features and future plan of mago3D.

I talked about the recent achievements and improvements of mago3D project, an open source based Digital Twin platform. mago3D(http mago3d.com) is relatively new project first released in July 2017. The ultimate goal of mago3D is developing an open source based digital twin platform that can replicate and simulate the real world objects, processes, and phenomena on web environment. mago3D is on its way to achieve this goal now. mago3D has been used in various industry sectors including ship building, urban management, indoor data management, and national defense. In this talk I showcased several real projects that employed the mago3D and shared what I learnt from these projects.

Computer vision based monitoring methods like 2D image, video and 3D laser scan methods have difficulties in meeting real-time and data objectivity requirements. This paper points out the applicability of high resolution remote sensing image (HRRSI) in this task. This paper proposes a way for enhancing Histogram of Gradients (HOG) feature for HRRSI. HOG is applied as the key feature for machine learning, which is carried out by the boosting method. To overcome the complexity of HOGs in HRRSIs, this paper builds a feature framework according to the top, side and height characteristics of engineering ground objects. Based on the feature framework, this paper presents a HRRSI based framework for construction progress monitoring. Through an application case, the performance of the framework is presented.
