HISTORY:-
• WILLIAM FETTER was credited with coining
the term computer graphics
• It was describe in 1961.
• One of the first display of computer animation
of a human face and hand.
• In 1971 experimental short a computer
animated hand created by university of Utah
students Edwin-catmull and Fred
• 3d computer graphics creation falls into three
basic phases
# 3d modelling
# layout and animation
# 3d rendering
What is 3Dinternet
Combination of two
power full forces
1.internet
2.3d graphics
The result: interactive,
real time
3d graphics delivered
over the web
WHY NOW ?
Until recently, there were two
problems:
.slow computers
.slow connections
Download 3d content took a long
time
And once downloaded, it ran very
slowly
Quality of the graphics was poor
What is changed ?
 increased bandwidth
.cable modems
.DSL
 increased processor speed
1 GHz and beyond
 graphics accelerators
.installed on all new machines
.able to provide fast, high-quality graphics
EVOLUTION OF INTERNET
HOW DOS IT WORK?
* 3D INTERNET BASICALLY DEALS WITH THE VIRTUAL WORLD *
CONTent
*EDUCATION:-
. Web-based training
using interactive 3d
. Virtual experiments for
Physical science
**teach,learn,and practice
In a way that feels "real”**.
Content
* Entertainment
. Multi-player ,fully 3d
games
. Streaming 3d animation (much
lower bandwidth than viedo,can
run
full screen, can have interactivity
*social interaction
. 3d chat spaces.
ContENT
• Collaborative design
And engineering
-> architecture
-> product design
-> 3d visualization of
data for varies fields
EXAMPLES OF 3D TECHNOLOGY
• GOOGLE GOGGLES:
• Anyone putting “the goggles”
Will be immersed in 3d
“stereo-vision”
Virtual reality called 3dlife
APPLICATIONS
*E-commerce
• product visualization
• 3d virtual shops
• Interact in virtual
workspaces
ADVANTAGES OF 3D INTERNET
• Participants have control throughout the virtual
space.
• content is readily available.
• Participants have a choice in whether to interact
with an offering
• Visualization tool much easier for customers and
designers to understand easily.
• Productivity tool that will save design time on
complex products
DIS ADVANTAGES
. Specific hardware and special programs
are required to obtain and process the
data
. Applying motion quadruped characters
can be difficult
. The results are limited to what can be
performed within the capture volume with
out extraditing of the data
. Movement that does not follow the laws
of physics generally cannot be represented
