1) SMS acquired Computer Synergy in 1985 but struggled to merge its competing ACTion and Synergy systems, initially resulting in the poorly received "Spirit Choice" product. 2) SMS later refocused on the integrated Allegra system based on Synergy, which was successful led by Tom Tomlin until SMS discontinued it around 2000 due to high maintenance costs of multiple competing products. 3) Former Allegra user Rick Opry started IntraNexus in 1992 to provide ongoing support to former Allegra clients, and later acquired the Allegra software rights, growing IntraNexus to over 100 employees until its acquisition by Quality Systems (NextGen) in 2011.
