The study aimed to describe the experience with cerebral venous thrombosis (CVT) in a multicenter registry involving hospitalized patients in Mexico, revealing that 3% of acute stroke patients had CVT. Main risk factors included puerperium and contraceptive use, with a notable association with young age for better 30-day outcomes, but management and assessment of thrombophilia were suboptimal. The findings highlighted higher in-hospital complications and case fatality rates compared to other registries, emphasizing the need for improved acute treatment and understanding of CVT in low-income settings.
