This document discusses the use of augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) technologies in the cultural sector. It explores their potential usefulness for both content providers and end users, as well as the perceived ease of use. The document reviews previous research on implementing AR and VR in cultural applications and museums. It then defines AR and VR, discussing their characteristics and positioning them on a spectrum from real to virtual environments. An existing case study of an AR application is also presented. The aim of the study is to provide a framework for selecting and evaluating AR/VR projects in the cultural sector.
