1. 2.3 Final Preparations
Describe your role and responsibilities in the performance project.
My role is the makeup designer and I am in charge of bringing the makeup and applying on all the rest of the actors
before the actual performance started. What I have to do was make sure all actors had face paint on their faces
without hurting them I also have to spend a limited time with each person so it doesn’t take too long. I also have to
make sure that all the equipment I used was put back and cleaned up the place if there was any mess. I have to be
very organized on the day and make sure I stick to my time limit and that there is no room for mistakes.
I am also going to perform in the play and my responsibilities are to remember what goes on the play and where I
should be. I had to bring on the posters on the stage without looking unprofessional.
Who are the other members of your team? What are their responsibilities?
Another member of my team is another makeup artist. I will give her the job of applying on the white face paint onto
the actors faces and make sure it looked professional and up to my standards. Her responsibility also is to make sure
she acts professional and brings in any equipment if she needs and to be organized, listen to instructions and stay
focused.
Describe the tasks you will be undertaking in the final stages of the preparation process and during the
performance itself. Include deadlines for completion of individual tasks.
The last task that I will be probably undertaking is applying the makeup on the others. When it comes to my
performance I have to make sure that the lighting people know what we want as our lighting because it is difficult so
we have to make sure they know how we want it.
List the resources you will be using. Is everything ready to use? Has technical equipment been checked to
ensure it is in good working order?
• Bench
• Poster/banners (2x)
• Makeup:
• Face paint black and white
• Paintbrushes, Foam sponges
• All technical equipment has been ready to use during rehearsals.
How will you make sure that you are working safely in the final stages of the preparation process and during
the performance itself?
At the start of the final rehearsal before the actual performance make sure the working surface it clear and that there
is no objects lying around so we don’t have any one falling over and also to make sure all the props and other
equipment doesn’t get in the way of the performance.
Describe the resources you will be using indicating their availability.
For the performance we needed the stage lights to be pointed in a specific direction so we needed to make sure that
we had to ask the lighting technician to come in and put them in position during the rehearsals.
How will these resources be managed to ensure they are used efficiently.
We asked a professional to put them in position due to health and safety issues and make sure that we avoided
