1. What were your learning objectives for this project? Before I started this project I set my self a number of learning objectives. My main objective was to learn how to use the equipment and to feel confident using it. When making a piece of media you need to know how to use your equipment and how to use it effectively. This is why it was important for me to make sure I learnt what I needed to do before I start my main task. Another learning objective was to learn how to organize myself and more importantly the project. Organization plays a vital role when it comes to making a piece of media. You need to know what you are doing , what's happening in your project , when and where your going to film and most importantly when you should be done filming. Time keeping also plays a massive part in keeping organinized. As they say in the business “time is money” and if you go over your deadline then you put everything else back as well. Overall this preliminary task was a chance to gain experience in working with equipment and how to organize a media project.
2. Highlight key areas within your preliminary task, using specific references from your project. During my project I encountered many different problems , but at the same time also encountered many opportunities to show my media skills. A key highlight for me was making a storyboard with my partner. I have never been any good at this and so I was very anxious starting one. The storyboard we had to make had to include each shoot we wanted to take , were it would be set , what the actors would been doing and how long the  shoot would last. At first I found it difficult to come up with idea for our project , but as soon as we done the first few shoots I felt more confident. This was a key highlight for me because I felt that I had exceeded in my ability to make story boards and at the same time gained loads of experience from doing so. Another key area we covered was designing the shooting schedule. This was an very important task because we needed to include all the shot details e.g. costumes and props. The shooting schedule would be used to tell us what shot had to be taken at a certain location and in what order the shots should go in. The main area we covered was actually shooting on set. As I had never experienced anything like this before it was a great opportunity for me to gain experience. As I was the in charge of the camera I had to make sure each shoot was correct and that when we were recording that everyone was silent. This proved harder than expected due to the amount of people in and out of the corridor.
3. In what ways has your media project developed your production skills? By being involved in this project I have gained vital experience for my main media task which is coming up. At the beginning of the project I had literally no experience with the media equipment and actually organizing a project. I now feel that I have both the confidence and knowledge to be included in other projects. For example by designing a storyboard and creating a script I learnt what needs to be included in the storyboard and how the script should be set out. This also goes for my shooting schedule , which before the project I had no knowledge. I learnt how to design one and then what to include in it. The main piece of knowledge I gained was how to set up and use the camera. I have only used amateur camera’s before the project so this was a big step for me. I learnt how the tri-pod (the piece of equipment which supports the camera) should be set up correctly and how to use it effectively. I then learnt how to set up the camera e.g. putting the battery and tape into the camera corectly.
4. Who would be the audience of your media project? Why? When creating my piece of media , I analysed and thought of who would be the most appropriate audience for my project. The genre of my piece is a mature comedy so straight away I ruled out a younger audience. I then narrowed to teenager's and mature adults. In my piece of media we have the two actors  one pretending to be a wannabe gangsters and the other acting cool. This is why I though a teenage audience would be more suitable due to the fact that they would understand the language used. A more older audience would not get what is going on in the scene. Also a more younger audience will be able to relate to the scene and may find it more funny than an older audience.
