CBI lodges new case against
Lalu Yadav, raids 17 locations
Patna: Rashtriya Jana-
ta Dal (RJD) chief Lalu
Prasad Yadav and his
family appear to be in
deep peril, yet again.
The Central Bureau
of Investigation (CBI)
has slapped fresh cor-
ruption charges against
him, only weeks after
being granted bail in
the fifth fodder scam
case. As per reports, his
other family members
have also been named
as the defendants in the
new case.
The new case would
land Yadav in hot water
again as the CBI found
his involvement in a re-
cruiting scam during
his stint as the railways
minister.
The CBI alleges in the
new case that Yadav
and his family mem-
bers got land and hous-
es as bribes in exchange

great prudence.”
“The best method of
governance in the world
today is the system of
parliamentary democra-
cy
. That is why I can say
that at this time it be-

Raj unfortunate, missed Ayodhya visit: BJP MP
First India Bureau
Lucknow: Maharash-
tra Navnirman Sena
chief Raj Thackeray is
an “unfortunate man”
who has missed the op-
portunity to visit Ayod-
hya after apologising to
north Indians for his
outbursts against them
in the past, said a BJP
MP here on Friday
.
Thackeray on Friday
put on hold his visit
amid opposition from
BJP MP Brij Bhushan
Sharan Singh, who had
warned that he will not
be allowed to enter Ayo-
dhya till he tenders an
apology for “humiliat-
ing” north Indians in
the past.
“He had a good oppor-
tunity to come to Ayod-
hya after apologising
but he again missed
that opportunity. He is
very unfortunate and
misfortune is not leav-
ing him,” the Kaiser-
ganj MP said here.
Had Raj Thackeray
apologised to saints,
CM Yogi Adityanath
and Prime Minister Na-
rendra Modi, then an-
ger of people would
have subsided, the MP
said.
“But by not apologis-
ing, he has opened their
wounds once again.
That’s why I have decid-
ed that my ongoing pro-
test over his visit will
not be postponed,” he
said.
Had he apologised, I
would have taken it as a
change of heart on his
part, the MP said.
But by not apologis-
ing, he has proved that
he is firm on his actions
and considers them as
correct, Singh added.
The MP said he will
tour the entire Uttar
Pradesh, along with Bi-
har and Jharkhand. He
said his June 5 yatra
will not be for lodging a
protest against Thac-
keray but to celebrate
the UP chief minister’s

BJP leader from
Gujarat, Shailesh
Mehta, recollects
PMModi’sspeech
after the tricolour
was hoisted by
Shri Murli Mano-
har Joshi at Lal
Chowk in Kash-
mir in 1992. The party worker
recalls how Narendra Modi’s
simplicity and soft temperament
touched his life. He cannot forget
the day when Modiji bypassed
the official procedures and vis-
ited Shailesh Mehta at his home
after becoming the Chief Minis-
ter of Gujarat.
It was in 1974 that I came in
touch with Modiji for the first
time. To this day, I have been in
awe of his personality and he
has never failed to inspire me.
Modiji has been blessed with a
magnetic personality that at-
tracts people to him irrespective
of their age or economic status.
All those he comes in contact
with feel that Narenda bhai be-
longs to them and people begin
to converse with him almost at a
personal level, as if they are in-
teracting with their own broth-
er. For him work is worship and
helping others an ideal that he
never diverges from. These at-
tributes of his personality have
resulted in people alluding to
him as “Samarth Sathi”.
Hisspeechafterthehoistingof

dra bhai, even without realising,
had started to create a new India.
That day theardour of hiswords,
his passionate patriotism, and
the fearless challenge that he
threw open to terrorists, took
Narendra bhai to every home in
India. He created a place for him-
self in the hearts of his fellow
men who were inspired and
floored by the intensity of his
love for his motherland.
At the time I was the Utkarsh
Mantri in Assam and had or-
ganised a welcome programme
for him. I was conducting the
proceedings on stage and as per
the flow of the event, I had to
introduce Narendra bhai, then
invite him for a speech and post
his talk, leave the floor open for
questions from the audience. In
his talk Modiji narrated the Lal
Chowk incident, how the event
unfolded and his thoughts about
it. Well, little needs to be said
about the rhetorical skills of our
Prime Minister. Narendra bhai
is one of the greatest orators of
modern India who speaks
straight from the heart trans-
porting his audience into a
trance like state in which they
simply fail to utter a word even
after he ceased to speak.
His speech in that programme
where he described the Lal
Chowkincidenthadasimilarim-
pact on the audience. They were
spellbound and after his speech
was over, when I asked the audi-
ence to put up questions, there
was pin drop silence. I simply
didn’t know what to do. Once
again I requested the audience to
begin with the question-answer
session but there was no re-
sponse. Now I was left with no
other option but to ask a question
myself.Iactedasif someonefrom
the audience had come up with a
question and put it across to Nar-
endra bhai. But razor sharp as he
is, he immediately knew what
hadhappenedandheansweredat
length, though with a chuckle.
From then on, he nicknamed me
“Prashnakar” and even today ad-
dresses me by that epithet.
By the time he had finished
answering the question, the au-
dience was alive again and then,
God knows, such a bunch of
questions presented themselves
that after a while we had to re-
quest people to calm down and
bring the programme to a con-
clusion leaving the questions for
some other day
.
In a nutshell, that programme
has been one of the most cher-
ished and memorable events of
my life.
Another incident that I would
like to share with our readers
today is when my family mem-
bers wanted to meet Narendra
bhai and congratulate him per-
sonally after he was elected CM
of Gujarat. I organised a Milan
programme at my residence
where my family had gathered
and as is obvious, everyone
wanted to have a picture clicked
with Modiji.
I would like to tell my readers
here that I witnessed with my
own eyes something that makes
leaders truly great. The family
helper, whose name is Mogji,
came to me and requested if he
too could have a photograph
clicked with the Chief Minister.
I told him he could but he would
have to wait. This was over-
heard by Narendra bhai and at
that point, he bypassed all pro-
tocols, flung his arm around
Mogji and with a pat on his
shoulder, said “Get ready for a
photo.” He then called out for
the photographer and got a pic-
ture clicked with Mogji and
well, all others could wait.
This incident, like so may oth-
ers we have heard and read
about our beloved PM, shows us
that in the eyes of a great leader,
all men are equal. Every human
being is important and deserves
to be treated with love, respect
and honour. For Narendra bhai,
there is no distinction between
the rich and the poor, the young
and the old and he truly lives by
the slogan he himself has coined
“Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas”. It
is this trait of our PM that en-
dears him to every citizen of the
country, so much so that we all
feel as if Modiji is part of our
own family
. Such feelings of in-
timacy and love for a public per-
sonality are rare but when they
are present it is proof that the
man we admire and love, is not
an ordinary mortal. Modiji is a
great statesman and the world
adores him for his simplicity,
integrity and courage.

Patna: In Bihar, bien-
nial elections are to be
held for five Rajya Sab-
ha seats and bypoll for
one seat. The seat for
the by-election has been
vacated by the death of
JDU’s Mahendra Pras-
ad, so that seat will go to
JDU only
. Out of the re-
maining five, two seats
will go to BJP, two to
RJD and one to JDU.
This time RJD is getting
the advantage of one
seat. One seat is falling
vacant for Misa Bharti,
on which she will again
be sent to the Upper
House. However, there
are many contenders
for the second seat of
RJD. Although the Con-
gress is also making a
claim, but the coordina-
tion between the two
parties has ended and
hence its claim has no
meaning.
The strongest con-
tender for an RJD seat is
that of veteran leader
Sharad Yadav, who re-
cently merged his party
with RJD. He is politi-
cally active again and
the party can send him
to the Upper House. Last

Universities in the national

will not be feasible to change the
process on such a short notice.
University Grants Commission

the CUET-PG is not mandatory for

the university cannot implement a

Taking to Twitter, the
MNS president said,
“Ayodhya visit on hold
for the time being.
Details about it will
be given at the rally in
Pune on May 22.” The
visit has been put off
amid reports that Thac-

nounced about his visit
to Ayodhya during his
rallies held last month.
Talking about the devel-
opment, MNS leader
Sandeep Deshpande
said people should wait
till Sunday to know the
reasons of the cancella-

during his Pune rally
on May 22, Raj Thacker-
ay will make the rea-
sons clear why he has
put off the Ayodhya vis-
it. He refused to reply to
question on whether
the MNS chief was un-
well. “Health is a pri-
vate matter,” he said.
Meanwhile,ShivSena
leader Sanjay Raut said
there could be political
reasonsbehindtheMNS
chief’s latest decision.
“PeopleinAyodhyahave
opposed Raj Thacker-
ay’s visit and BJP MP
Brij Bhushan Sharan
Singh has highlighted
the anger of the UP peo-
ple by opposing his vis-
it,” Raut said. “I pray to
Lord Ram that Raj Thac-

The visit was publicised
and now it has been put
off. There may be some
political reasons. BJP is
known for its use-and-

has come out of it after
experiencing it for 25
years,” he alleged.

Eyeing dalit vote base of BSP, SP
chief visits places of Buddha
Gyanendra Kumar Shukla
Lucknow: After PM
Modi’s recent visit to
Kushinagar, now Sa-
majwadi Party chief
Akhilesh Yadav is also
preparing to make
a presence in this
holy city where Lord
Buddha attained
Mahaparinirvana.
In the main units of
the SP organisation,
there is a preparation to
give preference to the of-
fice bearers belonging to
the scheduled castes.
Last year, Akhilesh’s
party launched the ‘Ba-
basaheb Ambedkar Va-
hini’, led by former BSP
veteranMithaiLalBhar-
ti, to focus on the sched-
uled castes. Not only
this,AkhileshYadavhad
appealed to the people to
celebrate ‘Dalit Diwali’
onthebirthanniversary
of Dr. Babasaheb
Ambedkar. Political ex-
perts believe that due to
the continuous margin-
alization of BSP
, both
BJP and SP have got op-
portunities to bring its
core voters into their re-
spective folds.
It is evident from the
assessmentof thevoting
data of the recently con-
cluded assembly polls
that BJP got a bigger
share of Dalit voters,
which shifted from BSP
,
than SP
. Although BJP
recorded higher victory
margin on reserved
seats, SP’s tally also im-
proved significantly as
compared to the 2017.
Therehasbeenalotof
gain in the Dalit support
base of SP
. To continue
this trend in future also,
the SP camp has become
very active. According
to party sources, Dalit
castes like Dhobi, Pasi,
Sonkar,kori, Dhanuk,
Dhobi etc. have been
with both the SP and the
BJP
, but about 12 per
centJatavvotersarestill
rallied behind the BSP
supremo Mayawati.
The SP strategists are

case FIR lodged against
him, Kaushambi’s Su-

After the apprehen-
sion of the child, al-
leged to be in conflict
with law, the police pro-
duced him before a chil-
dren court which re-
manded him to a Chil-
dren Welfare Home in

five-year-old girl, a resi-

was lodged against the
boy and he has been ap-
prehended, the SP said.
“The ASP has been
asked to look into the
role of police while in-
vestigating the matter,”
he said. Interestingly,
the child, alleged to be
in the conflict of law, is
barely a year older than
the prescribed age limit
of 12 years under which
a child could be consid-
ered a doli incapax , and
deemed incapable of
forming the intent to
commit a crime or tort.
Section 82 of the IPC
provides that nothing is
an offence which is done
by a child under 7 years
of age being a doli inca-
pax. Section 83 of the
IPC says that nothing is
an offence which is done
by a child above 7 years
of age and under 12,
who has not attained
sufficient maturity of
understanding to judge
the nature and conse-
quences of his conduct.

Modelling requires
passion as it is not en-
tirely about looks.
It is also a craft
that has to be
practised and de-
veloped with consist-
ent efforts. However,
visual appearance
matters when in

Any advice you
would give to your
future self?
Yes, I would surely
give myself one piece
of advice about being
consistent in this pro-
fession. I would ask
myself to go relent-
lessly after my aims
and ambitions. I be-
lieve that these goals
are the expressions of
my true personality
.
What inspired you
to become a model?
I always knew that I
was capable of be-
coming a successful
model. I have all the
traits that are needed
to become a super-
model. However, I am
very well aware of
the fact that it is
a very demanding
and competitive pro-
fession but life is
nothing without
challenges.
What was the
biggest mistake
you made when
you just started?
I made a big mistake
when I started. I was
not well trained and
went for an audition
which embarrassed
me. I could not even
walk properly on the
ramp at that time. So,
you should prepare
well for anything that
you pursue.
What has been the
most memorable or
rewarding moment
in your career?
Every time I walk the
ramp becomes a
memorable moment
for me. It gives me a
lot of confidence and
positivity. I feel the
best reward is when
you are confident
while doing
your job.

His memory “ebbs and
flows like the waves of the
Irish sea”. He is in an Old-
Age Care Home. Sabrina,
his daughter, visits him
regularly and genuinely
cares for him. As a mother
of three sons, she is more
than busy. Her job in a
Care-Centre, as a swim-
ming pool lifeguard, is bor-
ing and her marriage isn’t
as happy anymore as it
used to be. She cannot un-
derstand herself or her
problems and feels lost.
Sabrina gets a phone call
fromherfather’srehabilita-
tion centre to look up some
cartons which have been
delivered as his old belong-
ings. Since she has a rare
day off (her husband has
taken the three boys on a
camp outing to watch the
solareclipse),shedecidesto

marbles, very meticu-
lously segregated, de-
scribed, valued and cata-
logued. Some of the most

memories, stories and peo-
ple she never knew existed.
“Sometimes it’s the people
closest to us that we
know the least”. A
day that changes her and
those around her forever...!
This novel spans both-
one day and a whole life-
time. It’s told from alternat-
ing perspectives- both in
the first person. Fergus’s
chapters are always titled
“Playing with Marbles”
then the name of either a
sort of marble or the game
that is mentioned in the
chapter. Sabrina’s are titled
“Pool Rules” which relates
to her love of water, swim-
ming and her job as a life-
guard. Fergus’s story starts
with him being a sad and
scared five-year-old boy
, re-
ceiving his first marbles.
“Allies. I like that. It makes
me feel like a soldier.” He
has a complex childhood
background- one of seven
rowdy boys- with an absent
mother and a harsh stepfa-
ther. He finds solace in his
secret world of marbles-
keeping his passion to him-
self. He’s unable to share it

sacrifices that he makes,

are really sad.
The world of marbles is
intriguing- the art of mak-
ing each piece, the unique-
ness of its design and the
depth of understanding of
the passion for each. “The
marble he gave me is the
brown one I was immedi-
ately drawn to when I first
arrived. It looks like a plain

impressive In-

the festivities. India
has been chosen as the
first Country of Honour
at Marche du Cinema this year.
While actor Deepika Padukone is on
the jury duty this year, Aishwarya
Rai Aishwarya Rai Bachchan,
Urvashi Rautela, Masoom Minawa-
la, Tamannaah Bhatia and Pooja
Hegde among others are a part of
the Indian delegation.
Bollywood’s blue-eyed beauty
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan walked
the red carpet and looked
breathtakingly beautiful in
Gaurav Gupta’s design and
did her signature pose at
the festival.
Deepika once again
left everyone in awe with
her blazing red Louis Vuit-
ton gown with a plunging
neckline. For accessories, the
actress went the minimal way
as she adorned a statement
diamond neckpiece alone.
Hina Khan has sported a
magnificent off-shoulder and
flared lavender gown.
Urvashi Rautela made a
jaw dropping entry as she
looked no less than snow-
white in her enchanting
white dress. However, hear-
ing the price of her gown
will keep you up at night.
Meanwhile, Masoom
Minawala grabbed attention
with her bright pink mono-
tone pink Valentino ensem-
ble. Pooja Hegde wore a
beautiful pink sleeveless
gown and looked divine.
While walking on the red
carpet, she also flashed her
million-dollar smile. Ta-
mannaah has managed to
impress us all as she went
for an all-black glittery,
dramatic look that just
suited her too much. She
wore a bling body-hugging

look. Overall, her

T
he film is a horror-com-
edy and is a franchise
of the Bhool Bhulaiyaa
released in 2007. The
story of the film is about an
accidental, yet destined meet
up between two strangers Ru-
haan (Kartik Aaryan) and
Reet ( Kiara Advani) who
end up visiting Reet’s
home town in Rajasthan
which is haunted by the spir-
it of Manjulika (Tabu). Fate
leads them to open up an
old secret due to which all
hell breaks loose lead-
ing to one lie, leading to
a whole pile of lies
which sends Ruhaan
and Reet on a scary
rollercoaster ride.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2
is a fresh story and it
holds its ground. An-
ees Bazmee has not
just resorted to jump-
ing scares to make it fit
the horror genre but
there are actual mo-
ments of ‘ghostly
encounters’ that
take you by sur-
prise. The director
has mastered the art
of comedy so well that
he can make you crack
up in a jiffy
.
Kartik does jus-
tice to his character and it
seems that the character was
written keeping in mind only
and only Kartik Aaryan. He
gets every chance to show his
acting, dancing skills and com-
ic timing in the film. Kiara is
sweet and simple as Reet and
looks gorgeous in each frame.
Not that it’s some drastically
different role that she hasn’t
done in the past. Tabu, stand
out strong in the entire film
playing the character of the
spirit of Manjulika and the
caring bhabi of the family An-
julika. Tabu leaves a mark in
every scene she appears.
Among other supporting
casts, Rajpal Yadav, Sanjay
Mishra, Ashwini Kalsekar
andRajeshSharmabringsome
hilarious moments. Milind Gu-
nanji and Amar Upadhyay have
essential parts but in very lim-
ited screen time.
Overall the film is
good and the best
part is it does not
let you miss the
Bhool Bhulaiya
of 2007. The indi-
viduality of the
film stands out
and it will not
be fair on our

family's needs. Due to the lock-
down, we faced heavy financial
losses and finally had to shut it
down”, he said.
Throughout the lockdown, the
father-son duo made a short film,
'Duvidha', which addresses the
challenges of ordinary families
during the lockdown.
He mentioned that recently he
was playing a part in Brij ke Go-

taking himself back to the mem-
ory of nervous Utkarsh, in his
school days saying,” Papa yaar

“I told him that it's fine if he
wants to pursue music instead of
formal schooling and that he
should never look back.”, Ravish
said.
Utkarsh trained himself
through special classical music
training to a professional level.
He has published a song called

impressed by my performance”.
Utkarsh also conceptualised a
song during the pandemic where
25 Lucknowi musicians and 100
actors contributed from their
homes. He was recently a mem-
ber of a worldwide collaboration
metal album that was published
in 2018 from Switzerland.

a fashion influencer, talked
about Deepika's Sabyasachi
look at Cannes and said, “First,
the saree is nine yards of
elegance and it represents
India in its truest form. This is
the reason time and again it is
chosen for huge events like
Cannes. Be it in a
deconstructed or its original
form, the best way to represent
your country is wearing Indian
designers along with making a
mark each time. Deepika was
one of the nine Jury Members
and wearing a saree, she
represented her country while
slaying the retro look.”
RUCHI VERMA
a fashion designer said, “Sarees
are appealing and eye-catching.
Indian influencers and
celebrities are proudly
adorning them on the
international red carpet of
Cannes 2022. Much talked about
Deepika Padukone's look was a
perfect blend of Indian paired
and styled in a modernised
manner. Today sarees can be
paired with DIY blouses or
corsets or even jeans. With the
right accessories, it can look
Indian, modern or mix both
and make it indo-western.”
SRISHTI ARORA
a fashion stylist talked about sarees'
appeal and said, “I think when one
represents their country at a global
platform like Cannes, they want to
represent culture. And celebrities like
Shabana Azmi, Sonam Kapoor, and
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan have stood
testimony for sarees as the perfect
choice. She added, “With a contemporary
saree look, I think the approach should
be ‘Less always being more’. Accessories
can be very dainty and minimal with
strong lip colour and heels. And as for a
traditional saree, add some beautiful big
earrings, nude tone footwear, with a
coloured eye.”

  • 4. BJP leader from Gujarat, Shailesh Mehta, recollects PMModi’sspeech after the tricolour was hoisted by Shri Murli Mano- har Joshi at Lal Chowk in Kash- mir in 1992. The party worker recalls how Narendra Modi’s simplicity and soft temperament touched his life. He cannot forget the day when Modiji bypassed the official procedures and vis- ited Shailesh Mehta at his home after becoming the Chief Minis- ter of Gujarat. It was in 1974 that I came in touch with Modiji for the first time. To this day, I have been in awe of his personality and he has never failed to inspire me. Modiji has been blessed with a magnetic personality that at- tracts people to him irrespective of their age or economic status. All those he comes in contact with feel that Narenda bhai be- longs to them and people begin to converse with him almost at a personal level, as if they are in- teracting with their own broth- er. For him work is worship and helping others an ideal that he never diverges from. These at- tributes of his personality have resulted in people alluding to him as “Samarth Sathi”. Hisspeechafterthehoistingof tricolour at Lal Chowk in Kash- mirin1992wasaturningpointin theIndianpoliticalarena.Naren- dra bhai, even without realising, had started to create a new India. That day theardour of hiswords, his passionate patriotism, and the fearless challenge that he threw open to terrorists, took Narendra bhai to every home in India. He created a place for him- self in the hearts of his fellow men who were inspired and floored by the intensity of his love for his motherland. At the time I was the Utkarsh Mantri in Assam and had or- ganised a welcome programme for him. I was conducting the proceedings on stage and as per the flow of the event, I had to introduce Narendra bhai, then invite him for a speech and post his talk, leave the floor open for questions from the audience. In his talk Modiji narrated the Lal Chowk incident, how the event unfolded and his thoughts about it. Well, little needs to be said about the rhetorical skills of our Prime Minister. Narendra bhai is one of the greatest orators of modern India who speaks straight from the heart trans- porting his audience into a trance like state in which they simply fail to utter a word even after he ceased to speak. His speech in that programme where he described the Lal Chowkincidenthadasimilarim- pact on the audience. They were spellbound and after his speech was over, when I asked the audi- ence to put up questions, there was pin drop silence. I simply didn’t know what to do. Once again I requested the audience to begin with the question-answer session but there was no re- sponse. Now I was left with no other option but to ask a question myself.Iactedasif someonefrom the audience had come up with a question and put it across to Nar- endra bhai. But razor sharp as he is, he immediately knew what hadhappenedandheansweredat length, though with a chuckle. From then on, he nicknamed me “Prashnakar” and even today ad- dresses me by that epithet. By the time he had finished answering the question, the au- dience was alive again and then, God knows, such a bunch of questions presented themselves that after a while we had to re- quest people to calm down and bring the programme to a con- clusion leaving the questions for some other day . In a nutshell, that programme has been one of the most cher- ished and memorable events of my life. Another incident that I would like to share with our readers today is when my family mem- bers wanted to meet Narendra bhai and congratulate him per- sonally after he was elected CM of Gujarat. I organised a Milan programme at my residence where my family had gathered and as is obvious, everyone wanted to have a picture clicked with Modiji. I would like to tell my readers here that I witnessed with my own eyes something that makes leaders truly great. The family helper, whose name is Mogji, came to me and requested if he too could have a photograph clicked with the Chief Minister. I told him he could but he would have to wait. This was over- heard by Narendra bhai and at that point, he bypassed all pro- tocols, flung his arm around Mogji and with a pat on his shoulder, said “Get ready for a photo.” He then called out for the photographer and got a pic- ture clicked with Mogji and well, all others could wait. This incident, like so may oth- ers we have heard and read about our beloved PM, shows us that in the eyes of a great leader, all men are equal. Every human being is important and deserves to be treated with love, respect and honour. For Narendra bhai, there is no distinction between the rich and the poor, the young and the old and he truly lives by the slogan he himself has coined “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas”. It is this trait of our PM that en- dears him to every citizen of the country, so much so that we all feel as if Modiji is part of our own family . Such feelings of in- timacy and love for a public per- sonality are rare but when they are present it is proof that the man we admire and love, is not an ordinary mortal. Modiji is a great statesman and the world adores him for his simplicity, integrity and courage. The seat for the by-election has been vacated by the death of JDU’s Mahendra Pras- ad, so that seat will go to JDU only . Out of the re- maining five, two seats will go to BJP, two to RJD and one to JDU. This time RJD is getting the advantage of one seat. One seat is falling vacant for Misa Bharti, on which she will again be sent to the Upper House. However, there are many contenders for the second seat of RJD. Although the Con- gress is also making a claim, but the coordina- tion between the two parties has ended and hence its claim has no meaning. It shapes our personality. It has the power to change our emotional state in the blink of an eye. Many of us are haunted by memories that we’d give everything to erase and all of us have memories we turn to when we need to go back to those moments when we were truly happy . Imagine the loss when we lose this capability!!! Fergus Boggs suffered a stroke and has dementia. His memory “ebbs and flows like the waves of the Irish sea”. He is in an Old- Age Care Home. Sabrina, his daughter, visits him regularly and genuinely cares for him. As a mother of three sons, she is more than busy. Her job in a Care-Centre, as a swim- ming pool lifeguard, is bor- ing and her marriage isn’t as happy anymore as it used to be. She cannot un- derstand herself or her problems and feels lost. Fergus’s chapters are always titled “Playing with Marbles” then the name of either a sort of marble or the game that is mentioned in the chapter. Sabrina’s are titled “Pool Rules” which relates to her love of water, swim- ming and her job as a life- guard. Fergus’s story starts with him being a sad and scared five-year-old boy , re- ceiving his first marbles. “Allies. I like that. It makes me feel like a soldier.” He has a complex childhood background- one of seven rowdy boys- with an absent mother and a harsh stepfa- ther. The story of the film is about an accidental, yet destined meet up between two strangers Ru- haan (Kartik Aaryan) and Reet ( Kiara Advani) who end up visiting Reet’s home town in Rajasthan which is haunted by the spir- it of Manjulika (Tabu). Fate leads them to open up an old secret due to which all hell breaks loose lead- ing to one lie, leading to a whole pile of lies which sends Ruhaan and Reet on a scary rollercoaster ride. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is a fresh story and it holds its ground. An- ees Bazmee has not just resorted to jump- ing scares to make it fit the horror genre but there are actual mo- ments of ‘ghostly encounters’ that take you by sur- prise. The director has mastered the art of comedy so well that he can make you crack up in a jiffy . Kartik does jus- tice to his character and it seems that the character was written keeping in mind only and only Kartik Aaryan. He gets every chance to show his acting, dancing skills and com- ic timing in the film. Kiara is sweet and simple as Reet and looks gorgeous in each frame. Not that it’s some drastically different role that she hasn’t done in the past. Tabu, stand out strong in the entire film playing the character of the spirit of Manjulika and the caring bhabi of the family An- julika. Tabu leaves a mark in every scene she appears.
