6. THIS IS Random Acts of Kindness Week
Barrhead Composite will be celebrating
Random Acts of Kindness
February 20-23, 2018
What can you do to promote kindness?
How can you encourage others to be kind?
A random act of kindness is a selfless act performed by kind people to
either help or cheer up a random stranger, for no reason other than to
make people happier.

7. Watch for Information Regarding our
Purdy’s Chocolate Fundraiser
Students will be able to sell Purdy’s Chocolates to raise funds for Leadership.
Chocolates will be available before Spring Break.
Please see Mrs. Carr for more information.
Funds raised go to support student activities at BCHS.

9. Volunteer Opportunity
FCSS is currently looking for volunteers to assist in the implementation of the Youth
Program at the area Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
Looking for youth that are:
• Interested in leadership
• Interested in gaining work experience hours
• Interested in making a difference in our town
• Like a challenge
• Looking to volunteer in the community
• Would like to add to their resume for collage applications

The many career options in the Canadian Armed

As of Monday, there are no classes attending the
presentation on Friday
If you are interested in attending, please check with
your block 2 teacher to see if you can attend and you
will catch up on any work you will miss.

16. Winter Open House
• Attend on March 3rd from 10am-2pm for the
Winter Open House! Students will be able to meet
professors, current King's students, chat with
Admissions Staff members, tour the campus, and
apply for free at this event!
• King's will also be offering other Campus Events this
semester including a King's View Friday on April
9th, and a King's Encounter Weekend from March
15-17.

17. Off-Campus Education
• Second semester work experience paperwork was
due last Friday, February 16
• You do not want to be withdrawn from work
experience
• You are not officially and legally in work experience
until your paperwork has been completed and
handed in

18. Application deadlines
• If you are in Grade 12 and are still thinking about
applying to a post-secondary school, be aware
some have a March 1 deadline.
• See Ms Wegner if you need any help with this
process.

• First semester marks not as high as
you expected?
• Are you in jeopardy of not getting
Rutherford Scholarship because of a
low mark?
• Did you know your work experience
mark can be used to calculate your
Rutherford Scholarship average?
