5. Running Team Practice
We will practice at the elementary school

Leadership will be selling Crush & Rootbeer for $1 in
the Cafeteria Monday and Tuesday

7. Pink T Shirt Day is ​February 27, 2019
Bullying is a major problem in our schools, workplaces, homes, and over the
Internet. Each year, on Pink T-Shirt Day, I encourage all of you to wear something
pink to symbolize that we as a society will not tolerate bullying anywhere. Take the
message and remember it all year long.
It is so important that victims of bullying know they are not alone and there is help
and support available. Wearing a pink shirt on this day sends a strong message to
them that others care. Often, the simple act of wearing a shirt can start
conversations - conversations can be a big step towards healing and helping!

17. This year RE/MAX is once again offering (16) $1,000 bursaries
for a total of $16,000 to grade 12 students.
This program was established by RE/MAX of Western Canada
to recognize the success and ongoing pursuits of Western
Canadian students in regards to leadership and community
contribution initiatives. Students can enter online

19. Feature Program
Campus Saint-Jean's Projet Afrique
Le Projet Afrique is a partnership between the
University of Alberta's Campus Saint-Jean and
Projects Abroad. It is an opportunity for second year
and onward students to spend three weeks in
Western Africa. Here, they will utilize their French
language skills and acquire professional experience
in their area of study.

20. Updating Courses & Marks
• Students can continue to update their marks and
submit courses even after they have submitted
their applications. How-to information can be
found on the After You Apply webpage

23. Off-Campus Education
If you have work experience on your time table, you
MUST check in with Ms Wegner to get your
paperwork started and confirm your placement.
Until you check in with her, you are being marked
ABSENT.
She is available Monday, Wednesday and Friday, all
day, in her office, unless otherwise posted on her
door.
New-student paperwork is due this Friday, February
15. If you are not done, you may be removed from
work experience.

24. Calling all future business
students
Ms Wegner still has room for seven students to
complete introductory accounting with her this
semester. You work at your own pace, checking in
with Ms Wegner for instructions, explanation of
concepts and chapter tests. Make life easier for
yourself by having this knowledge prior to going to
post secondary.

25. Alberta online account access
If you used Apply Alberta or Tradesecrets, you may
recall Ms Wegner telling you “Do not forget your
SIAMS login information”.
Well, the government has changed to something
called MyAlberta Digital ID. You need to create your
Digital ID and transfer your SIAMS account over.
You need this for Apply Alberta, Student Aid (like
Rutherford Scholarship) and RAP/Apprenticeship.

26. Internship Opportunity
If you like working with dogs, this may
be for you.
A rural business owner is offering to
share her 20 years of expertise and
mentor someone who is interested in
animal behavioral science.

27. King’s University recruiter is here February 20 from
9 – 11 in the library with a presentation during ELT.
If you are going to King’s you may want to speak
with Michelle while she is here.

28. Canadian Forces
Master Seaman Jeff Liew is here on February 25 to
answer your questions about the Canadian Armed
Forces. He will be in the high school foyer from
11:00 – 12:00. He is not doing a presentation. If you
have more than a couple quick questions, you may
want to ask permission from your block 2 teacher to
leave class to chat with him, otherwise, stop by to see
him during lunch.
