Environmental, Health, and Safety • PPE for all personnel is mandatory at all projects and facilities . • Inspect and ensure all machinery and equipment is in proper functioning order. • Thoroughly inspect loads before departing DC and request of crews to verify loading is properly completed with all hatches, doors, covers, and tarps are properly secure. • Promote and emphasize a culture of Safety and Caution in all aspects of the movements from loading at DC to Offload at project site. • Clear and Consistent Communication and preparation for all weather and site conditions. • Utilization of Site Induction Program to ensure drivers and escorts are provided project rules and regulations. • Required rigging, lifting, and lashing Method Statements which are reviewed and approved before a scope of work can proceed.

Normally there are around 12 deliveries per day though some project schedules can command 24 inbound loads a day. • Deliveries are required to be sequenced for offload and storage at a wind turbine pad site. Usable offload areas are usually minimal. • Wind Projects are delivered to areas off of paved roads in which equipment should be capable to perform in these conditions. • Proper planning for a project is crucial for maintaining schedule or mitigating delays. Research of the routes for local or state regulations is as vital as route studies for physical restrictions. Meeting with all government agencies in the area is key to understanding and planning the scope of deliveries. • Efficiency of a project provides value to all companies involved in which pre-planning and communication are necessity. In addition preparing for most common adversities and other possibilities support in a successful completion of a project.

Future and Industry Trends • Components will continue to increase and size and weight for the foreseeable future. • Engineering design researching new blade options. • Off Shore Wind may increase in which road transport will still be an important mode of transport to bring components to staging areas.
