Title: Level of Service F for Grade A Streets
Track: Prosper
Format: 90 minute panel
Abstract: Relying solely on Level of Service criteria for street design, which evaluates vehicle congestion, leads to poor outcomes on many of our roadways. LOS F, far from a failure, creates opportunities to reallocate roadway space for more livable street designs. In this session, learn about projects in Cambridge and San Francisco that overcame opposition and generated community support in prioritizing better bicycling and walking over vehicle capacity during the peak hour of travel.

In this talk, Dr. Haitao Li will introduce the food supply chain configuration problem (FSCCP) to optimize the tactical-level mode selection and inventory positioning decisions for a general multi-echelon food supply chain. Computational studies show that the optimal FSCCP solutions significantly outperform two heuristic solutions that focus solely on cost or quality. Managerial insights are obtained on the impacts of key input parameters on the optimal configuration and performance metrics.

CW RADAR, FMCW RADAR, FMCW ALTIMETER, AND THEIR PARAMETERSveerababupersonal22
It consists of cw radar and fmcw radar ,range measurement,if amplifier and fmcw altimeterThe CW radar operates using continuous wave transmission, while the FMCW radar employs frequency-modulated continuous wave technology. Range measurement is a crucial aspect of radar systems, providing information about the distance to a target. The IF amplifier plays a key role in signal processing, amplifying intermediate frequency signals for further analysis. The FMCW altimeter utilizes frequency-modulated continuous wave technology to accurately measure altitude above a reference point.
Immunizing Image Classifiers Against Localized Adversary Attacksgerogepatton
This paper addresses the vulnerability of deep learning models, particularly convolutional neural networks
(CNN)s, to adversarial attacks and presents a proactive training technique designed to counter them. We
introduce a novel volumization algorithm, which transforms 2D images into 3D volumetric representations.
When combined with 3D convolution and deep curriculum learning optimization (CLO), itsignificantly improves
the immunity of models against localized universal attacks by up to 40%. We evaluate our proposed approach
using contemporary CNN architectures and the modified Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR-10
and CIFAR-100) and ImageNet Large Scale Visual Recognition Challenge (ILSVRC12) datasets, showcasing
accuracy improvements over previous techniques. The results indicate that the combination of the volumetric
input and curriculum learning holds significant promise for mitigating adversarial attacks without necessitating
adversary training.

Using recycled concrete aggregates (RCA) for pavements is crucial to achieving sustainability. Implementing RCA for new pavement can minimize carbon footprint, conserve natural resources, reduce harmful emissions, and lower life cycle costs. Compared to natural aggregate (NA), RCA pavement has fewer comprehensive studies and sustainability assessments.
Water billing management system project report.pdfKamal Acharya
Our project entitled “Water Billing Management System” aims is to generate Water bill with all the charges and penalty. Manual system that is employed is extremely laborious and quite inadequate. It only makes the process more difficult and hard.
The aim of our project is to develop a system that is meant to partially computerize the work performed in the Water Board like generating monthly Water bill, record of consuming unit of water, store record of the customer and previous unpaid record.
We used HTML/PHP as front end and MYSQL as back end for developing our project. HTML is primarily a visual design environment. We can create a android application by designing the form and that make up the user interface. Adding android application code to the form and the objects such as buttons and text boxes on them and adding any required support code in additional modular.

Cosmetic shop management system project report.pdfKamal Acharya
Buying new cosmetic products is difficult. It can even be scary for those who have sensitive skin and are prone to skin trouble. The information needed to alleviate this problem is on the back of each product, but it's thought to interpret those ingredient lists unless you have a background in chemistry.
Instead of buying and hoping for the best, we can use data science to help us predict which products may be good fits for us. It includes various function programs to do the above mentioned tasks.
Data file handling has been effectively used in the program.
The automated cosmetic shop management system should deal with the automation of general workflow and administration process of the shop. The main processes of the system focus on customer's request where the system is able to search the most appropriate products and deliver it to the customers. It should help the employees to quickly identify the list of cosmetic product that have reached the minimum quantity and also keep a track of expired date for each cosmetic product. It should help the employees to find the rack number in which the product is placed. It is also Faster and more efficient way.

About NDOT
The Nebraska Department of Transportation
(NDOT) is responsible for the planning,
development, design, construction, maintenance
and administration of the state highway system.
The goals of the Department are to preserve the
billions of dollars Nebraskans have invested in
their state highway system, making the
highways safe and efficient, and
accomplishing this in a timely and cost-effective
manner.
Eight Strategic Goals
1. Safety
2. Fiscal Responsibility
3. Environmental Stewardship
4. Project Delivery
5. Asset Management
6. Mobility
7. Communication, Coordination,
Collaboration, & Cooperation
8. Workforce Development
5. Crash Modification Factors / Safety Performance
Functions
● Goals:
○ Determine data required
○ Locate data
○ Propose methods to collect data
● Future Impact:
○ Software development
○ Accurate crash prediction
○ Cost efficiency
6. Project Safety Evaluations
● Goals:

Talk about mission (why) and goals (how) then address how I worked in highway safety office, traffic division and how my work pertained mainly to safety projects.
Worked in the highway safety office of the traffic engineering division at NDOT
Safety is a key part of the mission of NDOT and the first of the 8 strategic goals
Worked on many projects during my time at NDOT
Selected a few to talk about
Talk about what the work entailed and how the information and data was gathered.
Goals
Establish a list of all roundabouts in the state
Build a KMZ file that shows the locations of all roundabouts in the state
Gather sufficient data to study the safety effects of roundabouts compared to a comparable intersection
Future Impact
Research and calculations will be used to assist in determining where new roundabouts will be located to increase safety while using funding economically
Work
Recieved a few lists of roundabouts
Plotted the roundabouts in google earth and created a KMZ
Used the KMZ to view each roundabout and collect geometric data along with speed limit
Collected crash data from NDOT’s database
Corresponded with district engineers and metropolitan planning agencies to gather locations and plans for new and planned roundabouts
Compiled a comprehensive spreadsheet with all data and created figures to show crash rates, roundabout sizes vs speed limits, etc.
Talk about what the work entailed and how the information and data was gathered.
Goals
Determine what data is required to calculate and calibrate each CMF and SPF
Determine which data NDOT has already collected or is currently collecting and which data has not yet been collected
Propose methods to collect data that does not yet exist
Future Impact
Computer Science interns will have data available in order to write new crash prediction software
NDOT engineers will be able to more accurately predict the safety effects of various types of projects
NDOT will be able to spend public funds more efficiently
Talk about what the work entailed and how the information and data was gathered.
Goals
Determine the effect each project had on the crash rate for the impacted area
Determine the cost to benefit ratio of each project
Summarize data in a short report for quick reference
Future Impact
NDOT will have a better idea of which types of safety projects are more effective than others
Areas still struggling with collisions and safety issues will stand out for later projects
Sight Distance Study
Goal
Determine whether appropriate stopping sight distance and intersection sight distance are present
Highway Junction Inventory
Goal
Establish an inventory of all highway junctions that have previously had traffic counts completed
Collect data such as stop control, number of legs, and pedestrian accommodations
