THE FUTURE OF THE MEDIA LANDSCAPE
Media
changes everyday with new apps, platforms and ways of sharing and connecting in the digital space. With new gadgets like web linked glasses, the ever evolving tablet and improvements in smart phones, the way we consume media is constantly adapting to the newest
technology. We will discuss the future of geolocation, mobile for commerce, interactive TV and maybe even come up with the next big thing.
Raise your hand if you joined this bootcamp because there’s something in the industry that you would like to change…
Yeah, we’re all here for change and driven by change
The biggest takeaway I want you to get out of this weekend is to “Embrace Change”
I know it sounds very cliche and you’ve definitely heard it in many different contexts but it’s a very important reminder, especially for our industry.
It’s easy to avoid or fear change and get too comfortable with the here and now.
There’s probably a 50% chance that a few of the things I’m going to talk to you about today will change or be affected in some way that they’ll need to change.
Things are moving so fast in this industry and in this world, that you can have an idea one day and have it be negated the next day. But when you embrace change, you can move past that and onto the next thing.
So this weekend I ask that you be in a certain state of mind:
Our attention spans can only expand but so much in a day!
Much of our data sharing on the web is involuntary. By simply allowing digital companies and softwares to access your location, they can know the following facts and assumptions about you.
On the blockchain, trust is established, not by powerful intermediaries like banks, governments and technology companies, but through mass collaboration and clever code. Blockchains ensure integrity and trust between strangers. They make it difficult to cheat.
Blockchain is the data structure that allows Bitcoin (BTC) and other up-and-coming cryptocurrencies such as Ether (ETH) to thrive through a combination of decentralized encryption, anonymity, immutability, and global scale.
Insilico Medicine, Inc. and blockchain mining and management company The Bitfury Group, who want to pay people in a cryptocurrency called "LifePound" in exchange for voluntarily turning over medical data. The data will live on a blockchain, a digital log that uses every computer running the software to store unaltered information, theoretically forever.
http://longenesis.com/
This is the biggest trend of them all and is posing new challenges for marketers and companies alike. Tomorrow I’ll talk to you about the questions that are currently keeping marketers up at night in this new frontier of media.
