Internet of Things (IoT) is next biggest thing since the birth of the Internet. It is going to impact our lives and businesses beyond anyone’s imaginations.
IoT refers to the connection of everyday objects to the Internet and to one another, with the goal being to provide users with smarter, more efficient experiences.
The Internet of Things, also called The Internet of Objects, refers to a wireless network between objects.
By embedding short-range mobile transceivers into a wide array of additional gadgets and everyday items, enabling new forms of communication between people and things, and between things themselves.
The vast network of devices connected to the Internet, including smart phones and tablets and almost anything with a sensor on it – cars, machines in production plants, jet engines, oil drills, wearable devices, and more. These “things” collect and exchange data.
Devices and objects with built in sensors are connected to an Internet of Things platform, which integrates data from the different devices and applies analytics to share the most valuable information with applications built to address specific needs.
Internet of Things - The Battle for your Home, Commute, and LifeAbhay Aggarwal
We live in multiple worlds at any given point in time. The physical world that we live in, and the digital world that we access via multiple platforms. These 2 worlds have been influencing each other for some time now. The real world's need for communication & sharing has fueled the meteoric rise of social platforms. At the same time, easy access to phones, apps & services has made possible the seed of democracy to take root in closed countries. Still, for the most part, these worlds have been largely separate.
Now, the environment is becoming aware of us. Low cost, mass produced sensors are embedding themselves into devices of every conceivable size & shape. Mobiles have now reached an inflection point in terms of both hardware & software, providing the last mile connectivity to harness this power, leading to the creation of Internet of Things, and the rise of a contextually aware machine age.
The Internet consists of many layers. At its core, we have millions of servers & routers that provide the backbone for worldwide connectivity. Then we have billions of devices (desktop & mobile) connecting to it. Now the emergence of a new class of devices with trillions of embedded chips is fueling the rise of the Internet of Things. Simply put, IoT connects the physical world to the Internet. Combined with sensors, emerging & current network connectivity protocols, and processes designed around human interaction & behavior, IoT is already here. Soon, it will be everywhere.
The key areas that will see the most action around IoT will be Health, Home, Transport, Cities & Infrastructure, and Industry. The most conservative estimates put IoT growth at $1 Trillion+ by 2020. Services will take nearly half of the pie, hardware contributing around 35%, and the rest will be cornered by managed networks.
Users will warm up to new experiences & cost efficiences in existing services. Companies will get real time access to business state, as their devices are always connected. However, this will bring its own set of challenges for a business, as they will grapple with the issues of launching, managing, and monetising IoT services. Revenue models might change from straight sales to a subscription model instead.

Application and Usefulness of Internet of Things in Information TechnologyDr. Amarjeet Singh
The Internet of Things (IoT) is a system of
interrelated computing devices, mechanical and digital
machines, objects, animals or people that are provided with
unique identifiers and the ability to transfer data over a
network without requiring human-to-human or human-tocomputer interaction. It is an ambiguous term, but it is fast
becoming a tangible technology that can be applied in data
centers to collect information on just about anything that
IT wants to control. IoT has evolved from the convergence
of wireless technologies, micro-electromechanical systems
(MEMS), microservices and the internet. The convergence
has helped tear down the silo walls between operational
technology (OT) and information technology (IT), allowing
unstructured machine-generated data to be analyzed for
insights that will drive improvements. The Internet of
Things (IoT) is essentially a system of machines or objects
outfitted with data-collecting technologies so that those
objects can communicate with one another. The machineto-machine (M2M) data that is generated has a wide range
of uses, but is commonly seen as a way to determine the
health and status of things -- inanimate or living.
Internet-of-things (IoT) is set to create over 40 lakh jobs in 2016-17. This industry demands highly skilled and well trained professionals.
With our 12 hour IoT training and placement assistance program, you will be able to grasp the understanding of basic building blocks of IoT, able to develop local IoT project and control it via your mobile. This is program sets the foundation to explore your interest into IoT.

Courier management system project report.pdfKamal Acharya
It is now-a-days very important for the people to send or receive articles like imported furniture, electronic items, gifts, business goods and the like. People depend vastly on different transport systems which mostly use the manual way of receiving and delivering the articles. There is no way to track the articles till they are received and there is no way to let the customer know what happened in transit, once he booked some articles. In such a situation, we need a system which completely computerizes the cargo activities including time to time tracking of the articles sent. This need is fulfilled by Courier Management System software which is online software for the cargo management people that enables them to receive the goods from a source and send them to a required destination and track their status from time to time.
Automobile Management System Project Report.pdfKamal Acharya
The proposed project is developed to manage the automobile in the automobile dealer company. The main module in this project is login, automobile management, customer management, sales, complaints and reports. The first module is the login. The automobile showroom owner should login to the project for usage. The username and password are verified and if it is correct, next form opens. If the username and password are not correct, it shows the error message.
When a customer search for a automobile, if the automobile is available, they will be taken to a page that shows the details of the automobile including automobile name, automobile ID, quantity, price etc. “Automobile Management System” is useful for maintaining automobiles, customers effectively and hence helps for establishing good relation between customer and automobile organization. It contains various customized modules for effectively maintaining automobiles and stock information accurately and safely.
When the automobile is sold to the customer, stock will be reduced automatically. When a new purchase is made, stock will be increased automatically. While selecting automobiles for sale, the proposed software will automatically check for total number of available stock of that particular item, if the total stock of that particular item is less than 5, software will notify the user to purchase the particular item.
Also when the user tries to sale items which are not in stock, the system will prompt the user that the stock is not enough. Customers of this system can search for a automobile; can purchase a automobile easily by selecting fast. On the other hand the stock of automobiles can be maintained perfectly by the automobile shop manager overcoming the drawbacks of existing system.

CFD Simulation of By-pass Flow in a HRSG module by R&R Consult.pptxR&R Consult
CFD analysis is incredibly effective at solving mysteries and improving the performance of complex systems!
Here's a great example: At a large natural gas-fired power plant, where they use waste heat to generate steam and energy, they were puzzled that their boiler wasn't producing as much steam as expected.
R&R and Tetra Engineering Group Inc. were asked to solve the issue with reduced steam production.
An inspection had shown that a significant amount of hot flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes, where the heat was supposed to be transferred.
R&R Consult conducted a CFD analysis, which revealed that 6.3% of the flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes without transferring heat. The analysis also showed that the flue gas was instead being directed along the sides of the boiler and between the modules that were supposed to capture the heat. This was the cause of the reduced performance.
Based on our results, Tetra Engineering installed covering plates to reduce the bypass flow. This improved the boiler's performance and increased electricity production.
It is always satisfying when we can help solve complex challenges like this. Do your systems also need a check-up or optimization? Give us a call!
Work done in cooperation with James Malloy and David Moelling from Tetra Engineering.

12. WHAT IS INFORMATION
TECHNOLOGY
Information technology (IT) is the
use of computers to store, retrieve,
transmit, and manipulate data
or information.
IT is typically used within the
context of business operations as
opposed to personal or
entertainment technologies.
IT is considered to be a subset
of information and
communications technology (ICT).
An information technology system
(IT system) is generally an
information system, a
communications system or, more
specifically speaking, a computer
system – including all hardware,
software and peripheral equipment –
operated by a limited group of users.12
13. INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY USES IN DAY TO DAY
LIFE
Information technology is used in every sphere of
life like education, communication, business,
commerce, treatment and banking etc. Businesses
are investing heavily into new technological trends
as well as offering businesses the chance to operate
more effectively through the application of
information technology.
1
Let’s look at the example of communication as it has definitely
changed the way of our daily life. Many years ago we used to
communicate via writing but now we communicate by using
information network like telephone, mobile phone, internet etc.

IT has changed tremendously over the years especially in the computing field.
Nowadays, more or less every household has an iPod or computer or some
Apple related product. We know have cloud computing, as well as Virtual
servers. Long have the days of needing your own server to run things. You can
now involve in online outsourcing. Staying in the east you can work in the west
and earn a large amount of dollar.
3
15. WHAT IS CONSUMER
TECHNOLOGY
Consumer technology is any technology
that is directly purchased by individuals
to meet their needs.
This differs from enterprise technology
that is used by governments,
