4.  Definitionally, the concreteness is not there.
Especially in Indian context the plagiarism issue is
a recent concern, as ethics in writing, cheating
and unethical practices were rampant. For some
time now Indian universities, agencies and the
people’s involvement in research is a good
symptom of indications of ethical practice in
research writings.

5.  Things move smoothly while teaching,
consulting, wring your own business. But the
moment someone claims the writings of others in
their own, this is a case of cheating and unethical
practice.
 Some time distinctions are there between
deliberate and innocence. It needs to be further
interpretation. It is up to you to interpret Mr. Bean,
a comic character and his behaviour. Though
there are other alternatives to handle these issues

6.  While handing the problem of plagiarism we cannot
sideline the literature. For understanding a concept , to
know the world, to remember the facts and events, we
read literature or listen classroom lectures. And some
times need to borrow or lend others’ views while
speaking or writing, sincerely we need to acknowledge
the source with certain techniques. So alltogether
dealing with literature is a must handle with care.

7.  Though there are no specific reasons behind the
plagiarism issues, yet certain common points can be
outlined.
o Awareness : considering awareness a beginning point of
plagiarism, the concept of labour theory needs to be imbibed among
the people as the labour and the result of the labour also belongs to
the labourer. The books and articles of others are their property in
modern concept “ copyright”
o Ethical practices: people get involved in unethical practices
despite being aware and knowing the rule and regulations.
o Poor time management: doing the things hurriedly makes
chances of cheating and coping without acknowledgement.
o Improper citation: citation issues including what to be cited is
important. Its refer to following the style manual.
o Knowing the original author of the work: Sometimes we do
cites the works without knowing the original author.

8. There are different types of plagiarism. Some of the
common types of the academic dishonesty are
follows:
o Direct plagiarism: direct plagiarism is word by word copying
from others work.
o Self plagiarism: when an author use his/ her previous works
without citing.
o Mosaic plagiarism or bad paraphrases: when author
wants to rewrite in his own words, due to poor language, syntax
and semantic, the work may be considered as plagiarism.

9. Solutions are there, if may not fullproof. Awareness, ethical
practice, guidelines by the tutors or mentors institutional
prescriptions, habit of writing, checking through the term
papers are all could be steps for checking plagiarism.
Deterrence: Precaution are always there to avoid plagiarism.
Recent development of Indian universities, the research
paper, doctoral work would be submitted after passing
through the similarity check software. Two major software
Turnitin and I-Authenticate are proven to be good similarity
checkers in Indian context. Though it is a costly affair or
time to time as the authority decides. The checking
decision often differ from software to another.

10. The common misperception is, Internet is the
solution. Though internet contains some authentic
source but they are paid and some time highly
paid. The easily available sources are mostly free
some times full of garbage misfacts and wrong
projection. The Wikipedia, the students’ most
hunted hub is alleged containing 70% matter
either wrong or badly informed.

11. Friends as we have discussed about plagiarism, the
major inferences are that measures can be
ascertained, otherwise the golden liner could be
develop the practice of writing, increase the
vocabulary, good sentence structure and
knowledge of syntax and semantics.
