Things that can be done this week…
FYI - We are putting together an annual‘Community Survey’ on behalf of the BOT’s.
Working on the communication of your learning intentions and success criteria in your classroom. Clear communication of what
your students need tolearn in each lesson. These should be clear on the whiteboard.
We are looking for two staff to be available for the annualHauraki Sister City Exchanges (Jiading in China and Kyoritsu in Japan in
end of Term Three in late Sept). Please indicate your interest to Rose.
Entering onto Kamar on the rolls a score out of five for effort and another one out of five for progress. This is how we will do
interim reports this term. This is due this Friday (4th March)
Starting the lesson with a punch. Looking at students getting into the routine of being on time ready to go. Supporting this is us as
staff getting to class on time.
Thanks to those staff who have been filling in the congratulations letters (have been signing these lately). These can be found in the
computer files at S:Staffcongratulations letter.doc. There are physical copies that are in the top row of the pigeon holes.
It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative
expression and knowledge. Albert Einstein
Food For Thought (linkedto PTC #10. “Work effectively within the bicultural context of Aotearoa New Zealand
specifically and effectively address the educational aspirations of ākonga Māori, displaying high expectations for their
learning.”)…
“If some children are failed by our education system we
are all complicit in that systemic failure and we all need
to take responsibility for changing it. If New Zealand
does not address the achievement of those at the bottom
of the pile, its international standing will not survive at a
high level. ... New Zealand won’t have a successful
education system until it is successful for Maori & Pasifika
learners." Anne Milne (p.3)
