Why was my class so big? Why did they put ‘that’ student in there?
Where the decision makers…
Brainless? Lacking
Courage?
From a
different
planet?
Have no

Student Numbers and Class Sizes
How did we get here??
1. The Year 12 and 13 are massive and this
has stretched staff. The MOE predicted we'd
have 85 Year 12's and 69 Year 13's we have 117
Year 12's and 82 Year 13's. This has caused
pressure (and initially some big big classes - 37
in L2 Sports Ed).
2. We had over 50 returning students arrive
late to confirm (e.g. turned up first day with no
classes on their timetable).
3. There have been 48 new enrolments since the start of the year (seven in
Year 8, nine in Year 9, five in Year 10, nine in Year 11, thirteen in Year 12 and
five in Year 13). Enrolments even yesterday.
4. We have 20 International Fee Paying students.

How did we get here??
5. But there are no classes that are over 30
(currently).
6. March 1st roll return should generate some
FTTE. MOE tells me this is due later in
March.

Year 13 82 (MOE pred 69)
* At senior end we have a ‘secondary – tertiary partnership’with Wintec (one
day a week for students 0.2 student count per academy member).
