15. FFW high speed audio digitizing
• We digitize audio in 48KHz, 16bit
• We measure time and speed and have developed an algorithm who adjust
the audio to realtime playback
16. FFW high speed audio digitizing
• Benefits
• Seamless high speed audio digitizing
• Instant accessible in FFW archive
• Challenges
• High speed - not high quality audio digitizing
• Ok for speech, problems with music
• Improvements - (in pipeline)
• Better audio recorder quality (e.g. 196KHz)
• Improvement of algorithm
18. FFW high speed picture digitizing
• We digitize in HD (1920x1200). 8bit, 150fps, RAW format, 450Mbit/s and
use a LED 5600K light source
• We measure time and speed to trigger the camera and assemble the
pictures to movie in 24 or 25fps
19. FFW high speed picture digitizing
• Benefits
• Seamless high speed HD picture digitizing
• Instant viewable on FFW archive
• Challenges
• High speed god quality - but not as high quality as scanity
• Good for viewing & productions in many situations, e.g. content/quality control,
internet distribution, sale, as archive filling, footage in TV productions, etc.
Maybe even preservation for some part of the collections
• Improvements - (in pipeline)
• Better camera (e.g. 2K)
• Improvement of postproduction, better adjustment of color, light, etc. according
to B&G collection
21. FFW FLOW
• FFW FLOW consist of two components, FFW high speed film digitizing
and FFW basic

22. FFW FLOW deployment
• FFW FLOW deployment setup are based on one or more FFW high speed digitizing
setup on a specific physical location. FLOW uses the FFW basic infrastructure to
manage access, users, film digitization, registration, content, metadata, etc.

23. FFW basic infrastructure
• The core component in FFW basic is a fully tested, flexible and scalable
web service
24. FFW basic
• FFW basic consist of two components, FFW production and FFW archive
25. FFW basic
• Both FFW production and FFW archive comes with an API
29. AGENDA - NEXT STEP
1.The FFW elements in fast & efficient digitization
2.Mobile filmdigitization lab - based on FFWs technology we
prepare THE B&G TEAM VAN. A transportable film lab, where
B&G or FFW personal can visit external collaborators, or
owners of acquired collections and digitize their collections on
location.
3. Internal of highspeed digitization project - which could serve
B&G in a number of ways.
1. The digitization of a specific sub-collections FX B&Gs
News collection(s) or Commercials.
2. A (cost)analyses of the of the analog film archive of
30.000 hours.
3. A benchmark

A high-speed digitization project involves several areas or projects where
(new) knowledge and insights are gathered. Depending on B&Gs wishes and
focus for a potential the next step the areas we should discuss and clarify
are:
• Pre-digitization: What kind of collection(s) are we targeting, which
(meta)data is available and where & how would we like to included in the
workflow
• Digitization: Which kind of setup of FFW FLOW is needed(mobile solution,
1-? linies in parallel) and which team is needed, training, operators, film
experts ++
• Post-digitization: What kind of access would be requested and could we
enrich the content during the process or through automation and/
crowdsourcing
• Product: Is their a product we would like to develop and/or facilitate during
the high-speed collaboration
31. MOBILE FILM DIGITIZATION LAB
The development of a mobile digitization lab, which B&G can use to digitize
already acquired film collections, new ones and collaborators collections.

32. INTERNAL HIGH-SPEED PROJECT
The establishment of 1-2 internal FFW digitization lines and a focussed
digitization projects which delivers a “large” volume while analysing the 4
project areas, in order to create an overall estimation incl, a total cost budget,
timeline, ressource clarification and some product examples.
