Summary:
There was success all around in the Trent Rowing world this weekend. With four boats travelling to Boston,
MA, to compete at the Head of the Charles - second-most prestigious amateur regatta in the world – it was set
to be an interesting weekend. With an unprecedented finish of 2nd
place in the Men’s Collegiate Four, the boat
made up of James Dyer, Matthew Seaby, Joshua King, Alex Watson, and coxswain Zachary Baronowski, the
boys brought home the hardware. Finishing first in the collegiate men’s double were Junior & U23 National
team members Trevor Jones and Graham Peeters. Racing up a division in the Championship men’s double
(the hardest category) the boys placed fifth overall. At the Brock Invitational, the Lightweight Men’s Eight came
back in the last 250m to pass Queen’s University to place third behind rowing giants Brock and Western. The
Novice Program continued their undefeated streak with a 1st
and 6th
place finish in the Men’s category and a 1st
and 4th
place finish in the Women’s category. Teams will all travel to St. Catharine’s next weekend for the OUA
Championships.
In Women’s Rugby action, the girls in green & white faced off against McMaster at home Saturday, but came
away with a heartbreaking 8-88 Loss to the Marauders. This brings to a close the Excalibur Women’s Rugby
season, but their young roster puts them in a good place for success next season.
In Men’s Soccer, Dave Lippert scored the lone goal to keep RMC at bay and come away with a 1-0 Excalibur
win. Men’s Lacrosse continued their winning streak
