Summary:
Trent Rowers travelled to Ottawa to take on the Head of the Rideau race this weekend. After a 3:30am wakeup,
the Excalibur showed their stripes through a strong showing in the nation’s capital. Sweeping both the men’s
singles division (lightweight, heavyweight, & junior), and the Novice Women’s Eights (1st
and 2nd
), the Excalibur
truly proved that the 2015-16 season is set to be the most successful yet. See above for exact scores, but no
crew placed below 6th
place in any division, which is always the mark of a strong rowing program. Look for many
good things next weekend at the Head of the Trent, when the Excalibur welcome 445 boats from around the
country to their home turf. Follow @TrentExcalibur on Twitter for exact and up-to-the-minute race times and
scores, and @RowHotr for Head of the Trent Scores and Updates.
Women’s Lacrosse were happy to welcome The Brock Badgers, the Queen’s Gaels, the Laurier Golden Hawks,
the Guelph Gryphons, the University of Toronto Blues, and the UOIT Ridgebacks to their two-day Women’s
Lacrosse tournament Saturday and Sunday at Justin Chiu Stadium. Trent came away from the weekend with two
wins, one 7-4 over the Laurier Golden Hawks, and another with a 10-6 victory over McMaster.
Men’s Rugby welcomed fans at their home opener at Justin Chiu this Saturday, and finished with a commanding
60-5 showing, in what is to be their last season in the OCAA, as Men’s & Women’s Volleyball & Men’s Rugby are
set to join the OUA for the 2016-17 season and onward.
