Summary
The Men’s Rugby team kicked off the weekend strong with a convincing 59-5 Win over the Knights from
Fleming College. With many returning students playing for the Excalibur Squad, the team is optimistic about
the season ahead. Reeling from their win on Thursday, the Men’s Rugby team travelled to Queen’s University,
and proved themselves with another strong performance (22-6,W) against the Queen’s Rugby second team.
In Varsity Soccer action, the Men’s & Women’s teams travelled to the nations’ capital to face off against the
Ravens of Carleton and the Gee-Gees of Ottawa University. Unfortunately, the teams returned to
Peterborough empty handed, suffering three tough losses at the hands of the Ottawa athletes.
The Women’s Lacrosse team travelled to Toronto this weekend, to face off in the University of Toronto Early
Bird tournament. After a good showing, the team returned to the Otonabee with One Win, Two Ties, and a
Loss, all against teams they will be playing in the next several weeks.
In Men’s Lacrosse on Saturday afternoon, the Excalibur could not pull off a win against visiting Bishop’s
University Gaiters. The team then travelled to Kingston, ON and suffered a heartbreaking loss in triple-overtime
to the Queen’s University Gaels.
