This document provides information about a basic implant training course offered by the Global Academy of Osseointegration. The 3-day course will teach doctors how to surgically place and restore dental implants, identify ideal implant candidates, and diagnose and treatment plan implant cases. The training includes hands-on exercises with typodont models, and each participant will have the opportunity to perform a live implant surgery under supervision. The course aims to provide dentists with the skills and knowledge to incorporate implant dentistry into their practices.

Course Objectives: This basic implant course will teach doctors to
surgically place and restore dental implants in their dental
practice. Upon completion of this course, each doctor should be
able to identify ideal implant candidates as well as diagnose &
treatment plan ideal implant case types. An emphasis will be
given to hands-on training including the use of typodent and
models. Each participant will have the opportunity to perform a
live implant surgery under the supervision of the course
instructors.

1. Review of anatomic considerations in implant surgery
2. Criteria for selecting the ideal candidate and case
3. Understanding the use of radiographic & surgical guidesgical

4. Basic surgical techniques in implant dentistry, including flap
design, soft tissue management, and suturing
5. Impression techniques and discussion of the various
restortive options during the prosthetic phase
6. Hands-on training in both the surgical and prosthetic phase of
implant dentistry

2. About Speaker
Dr. Jin Kim, DDS, completed a B.A. degree in Molecular
and Cell Biology emphasis in Cell Development Bi-ol
ogy from the University of California at Berkeley, Dr.
Kim attended New York University, NY where he
received his D.D.S. degree. He continued his-spe cialty
training in prosthodontics at the USC School of
Dentistry.
In 2005-08 he was appointed Associate Professor in
prosthodontics at USC.
Dr. Jin Kim is a board eligible Pro-stho dontist and is
working on board -certifi cation.
In addition to being a member of- vari ous local and
national dental org-ani zations, Dr. Kim also has a heart
for teaching fellow doctors and has-lec tured
extensively nationally. He -is in volved with implant
training programs with a number of dental implant
manufacturers and organizations.
