Etsin is a research data finder service that forms a metadata catalogue for research datasets. It provides unique identifiers for datasets and enables researchers to gain merit based on their datasets. The service allows searching for datasets independent of their storage location by collecting metadata that increases discoverability and supports data access and reuse. Etsin is part of Finland's national Open Science and Research initiative and aims to foster openness in research.
