PARK LOCATIONS
11. Current California drought is the worst in history. The
rules, regulations and restrictions regarding outdoor
water use are changing daily.
CSD will have to assess conditions as project
progresses to determine affect on design and/or
construction.
CSD currently designs with reduced
turf and water conservation in mind.
If drought persists, project
construction may be delayed/
modified accordingly.
DROUGHT CONDITIONS
12. CSD traditionally designed playgrounds with a
combination of rubber surfacing and wood fiber.
Recent product failures and expensive replacement
costs have caused staff to reconsider the use of rubber
surfacing.
Rubber surfacing is double the cost
of wood fiber.
Both surfaces meet current standards
for playground safety.
Wood fiber will be used at Oasis Park.
PLAYGROUND SURFACING
